I’m very new to DFS. It hasn’t even been a month since I have discovered RotoGrinders and really thrown myself into the game completely, where I have dedicated hours a day to educating myself and trying to get better. I’ll be the first to admit that at this point I’m not a winning player but I’m learning a ton and am playing at low enough stakes that I can justify the losing for the education. To this point I have been playing off of my original deposit on Fanduel, but it’s now gone and before I make another I wanted to ask your opinions on your favorite site and why? Is it best to pick one site and just play on there until you learn it well or play the best games on all of them? Thanks in advance for the insight.

Try a couple sites see what you like, min deposits are like $10 bucks. Check out DraftDay, great support.

Do any other sites have mobile apps for iPhones besides draft kings and fan duel?

  • kalcashmoney

Fanduel and DK are the biggest sites so if you like big tourneys with huge payouts, they are better.

I played on Fantasy Fued, DraftDay and FantasyAces as well and they are nice too, but no phone apps.

Have to disagree on min deposits. Deposit bonuses rarely come around after your first on each site. What I wouldn’t give to take advantage of these again.

Try different sites thru freerolls, but you’re 1st deposit should be the max that you don’t immediately need and higher then you think you could realistically clear the bonus. If you deposit $500 on DK, there’s nothing stopping you from withdrawing the balance if you blow thru the 1st $100.

Is the rake essentially the same on all of them? Am I correct in assuming that sites like Fanduel and DraftKings are going to have more casual players simply because they are better known?

  • JBigg23

I agree with mberkowi that you should play for free a few days on sites first. You want to make sure you deposit the max so you take advantage of what they have to offer.

Jame115594 – No, FantasyUp has zero rake!

    Fantasy Feud

Play on Victiv. I think H2H rake is 5% and the site looks great. Also, they seem to have overlays often.

Is it best to just play cash games at first or GPPs or a combination of both?

  • huitcinq

I will strongly advise against playing multiple sites until you grow your bankroll to the point where you can take advantage of their deposit bonuses. These sites don’t allow multiple accounts so depositing $10 here and there is a complete waste. Waiting until I was a (relatively) seasoned DFS player to sign up for DraftKings meant I was able to take advantage of the $600 deposit bonus.

I personally prefer FanDuel, but DraftKings is where I play PGA & MMA.

It’s just a matter of personal preference and the type of gambler you are. It drives some people crazy to play for $50 only to win something like $45, while others prefer less volatility and slowly growing their bankroll. Some of the top players in the world only play GPPs and others almost exclusively play cash.

rake is usually better on the smaller sites. DD seemed to have a decent amount of fish but its kinda hard to tell imo

anyone know why it tells me for legal reasons, I can not sign up from my current location on Fantasy Feud? Odd, I know every other site has never had an issue.

  • JBigg23

If you are just starting out, go play where there are bigger bonuses and less rake.

  • aka_the_goat

I appreciate all the advice. Good luck tonight.

  • FastEddieFear

gjtgjtgjt – I’ve sent you a private message to figure out your location and see if your location problem is in error.
