the nba wffc just went over 17 percent rake..is this the highest level yet?

  • Landa501

That’s totally ridiculous and unacceptable if it’s true.

  • catmando

if you have the RG rake tool you can see it

  • deejones49

    It still looks the same

The Live qualifiers should have a little more rake, You probably don’t understand what it costs to host those live events

  • joephoo

Are winners able to take the $31,500 in cash instead? If not, it seems like the rake is arbitrary and it could just be a $37,855 rake free contest…

  • catmando

i understand what it takes to host them but the cost is built in so regardless the rake is what the rake is regardless of how you justify it…and maybe it should be more i was just stating what it was

If those tournaments fill, we all lose. Only way is to ignore them and hope for overlay

Holy shit that’s ridiculous. FD was actually the first site I ever joined, or maybe it was Draftstreet. Nevertheless, I’ve never played there seriously and I’m glad I haven’t. Mickey Mouse operations going on there forreal……

Rake has always been high for live qualifiers as britdevine said. They build the cost (or at least a portion of it) of hosting the live final into the rake for these contests.

I am not saying it is right, but it has always been the case. Personally I have mostly stopped playing live final qualifiers because they’ve priced out all but the top 1% for a majority of these qualifiers. When they do occasionally run them at smaller stakes (<$100 even), you have to beat out a gigantic field, with very little in terms of secondary prizes. It just becomes a bankroll killer to chase them anymore, even though I had the time of my life the one time I was fortunate enough to qualify.

You are winning equity in a second rake-free tournament (depending on how you account for travel). Paying 17% and 0% on the second round is about the same overall % rake you would be paying to enter these buyin levels with cash.
