I’m loving these local live events – Keep them coming!

However, the reality is its going to be filled with same usual suspects – some with multiple entries ( whaaaat? )

Of course, there will a couple feel-good stories in them who get in through the $2 and $25 Q’s ( even these are flooded with 100’s of entries by the same top players)

Coming to the $300 and $535 Q’s where the best odds are – small timers like me and over 90% of the DFS population cant afford to enter these, let alone throw multiple bullets.

I always wondered why FD never ran low $ satellites to the big boy Q’s with a limit on the multi-entry…maybe even a $25 single entry one.. I am sure they will fill. Any plans on these?

Karl, you’ve been on the attack in every single response you’ve made in this thread. Go back and re-read your responses. You’ve called people bullies, classless, brown nosers, and told them they can’t read well.

Step back for a second and calm down.

Right, because its ok to blatantly call out someone cheap without knowing them… Cheap taste, Gas station.. really?

Did you read dp’s response before my “attack”?

his question/request is pretty reasonable, hes just wondering about low dollar Qs to high dollar Qs. which is not the same as low dollar Qs to the actual live event. thats more rake for the fd, im sure they dont have a prob with it. whys everyone get so aggressive?

I’ve never understood why people need a bona fide “Q” to get into a higher dollar tourney? Why can’t a player enter an $11 20-man winner-takes-all tournament to get a $200 payout and subsequently use those winnings to enter a $200 “high-dollar” Q? It’s the same premise.

[And then nobody would be cyber-arguing…although it is semi-entertaining]

I’d kind of like to see some single entry quals for these small live events. I think at the $100, $200 price points these would still fill. Especially if there were satellites to them. When there’s only 10 seats and small prize pool it does bug me a bit to see guys playing the quals in a pretty clearly unprofitable manner in order to get a seat. I don’t care if there’s massive multi for the larger 1M+ live events as there’s still enough time for me to qual and it’s at least justifiable for the upside.

Not attacking anyone here. Just an opinion.

/agree theres tons of different ways to make $200. by that notion though, no one needs Qs to anything that has direct buyin. the payout structure of Qs is what attracts people (i think?).

right pay 2 dollars to win into a 1060 qualifier that could pay out 50k is sweet deal

and that kind of stuff gets you a commerical

lol why? they have many low dollar Qs and there are numerous other options (that have been brought up in this thread) if you want to win your way into a big Q.

this whole entire mini championship series is their response to people wanting smaller dollar Qs. I never did anything for the bigger championships but am definitely firing a bullet into the $25 Q tonight!

It is an amazing psychology thing. A small stakes player could make $1k in a GPP for $5 or win a a $1k entry to a Q for $5 with basically the same player performance. If they won the $1k cash they still wouldn’t direct buy the Q because they understand it is outside their bankroll but still justify entering the Super Q.

This must be a fashionable fight, it has drawn the finest people.

  • kalcashmoney

To the people suggesting to play in cash games to buy in to the Q – You can’t cash out a qualifier ticket.. It makes the decision that much easier..

Btw- didn’t know about the “gas station” inside joke which prompted my “attack” … So that’s not as bad now..

I’m still calling him out on the unnecessary and un-funny cliffnotes meme and the small stakes army reference

its really not tho….there is a $10 sate with 114 people that pays 5 $200 tickets. there arnt any 20x booster tournys on FD.

    otherwise yeah…i pretty much agree

I’ll add to the argument here for fun:

Why wouldn’t a site want to run low $ satellites? Isn’t this double the rake as they get the rake on the qualifier AND the entry that is won? Plus, hasn’t there been an explosion in interest since the NFL season, so there may be more people interested in trying to get to the big tournament? With expanded content not only here, but on Sirius, I would think it may be easier to run a low dollar satellite, with the additional users. I don’t see the harm in giving it a try. Just like anything else, see if there is demand and if there is, run them.

Theoretically, yes. The reality has been that the Satty’s don’t fill so they’re not raking it twice, they’re selling a ticket to a large buy in that they know will fill at a discount. If the sattys would fill I don’t think they’d hesitate to run them.

    Ok I’ll bite.

If FD runs a 25 man $25 single entry satellite to a $535 Q, I can guarantee it will fill easily before first pitch.

If it doesn’t fill, I will pay the remaining balance/overlay personally or by entering dead lineups. Deal?

Btw, the rake for that is 14.4%.

Heck, I can raise the stakes that they can fill a 50 man $25 league paying out 2 tickets with ease.

What I mentioned before got lost in the shuffle of BS posts, but when it comes to these small live events, satellites aren’t the issue. The issue is a tournie with only 10 seats that allows $2K worth of $100 entires on one qual. Granted, if it’s allowed and 4-6 people want to buy a ticket at a loss so be it, but to me it defeats what these small events intended to accomplish, or what I perceived they intended to accomplish.
