so this is my first post ever in a few years but I am legitimately bummed out about this
I knew it was only a matter of days with how the Casino industry has blown up in Pennsylvania.
anyone from Westmoreland County that can go give this guy a swift kick in the butt?

If this goes all the way through, the only ones who are going to feel any effect/notice a change will be the DFS sites themselves, not we, the player. It’s going to be business as usual on the surface for us.

So the media misconstrued yet another thing with DFS?.. (Sigh)
I wouldn’t hold breath just yet. The same lobbyists screwed the pooch in Washington State trying to reason with a nitwit State Senator. And I wouldn’t be too confident in our archaic legislative body. Remember Washington passed Marijuana legalization. We’re a ways off from that due to the people farmers and former coal miners put in office along with the socially conservative Democratic union backed bozos in the Philly and Pittsburgh areas.
How many players do you guys think come from Pa? 10 percent maybe 15?……I would think the number would be way higher then NV.
I live in the Pittsburgh area – so I am following this thread closely. Hopefully, we can play DFS with nothing changing on our end as others have indicated in this thread.
Same here Erie, area…….i hope things go smooth and things are normal but feels like alot people are on a DFS witch hunt.

I can tell you it’s above the national average. Not on the level of New York, New Jersey or Massachusetts, but high enough for a significant impact.

Ads are still running in the Philadelphia market and no negative articles in our press. Comcast is a major VC contributor to FanDuel and DraftKings has partnerships with the Sixers and Flyers. Ban is unlikely, but shotgun casino partnerships are probable. And hey, a new casino is opening up by the Sports Complex in South Philly. Who knows a partnership could bring new customers!
Unlike other states, the range of outimes for DFS could be anywhere from exclusive casino ownership only to having casinos draw in new blood and maybe good regulations for existing sites. I want to see what the bill says and what the intents are before making any judgements. Again, a ban is HIGHLY unlikely.
Pittsburgh here also. I kinda like the idea of local dfs tournaments run through the casinos(through casino website or in person), but don’t want anything else to change.
I think this is where I am on this. You cannot underestimate the power of Comcast.
Alls I know is I will drive to any casino in the state to play h2h with the guy who asked if this will affect Pittsburgh.
Just don’t let that guy headbutt you!

It will affect my ass who lives 300 miles away. And I may still make the drive across the PA Turnpike and pay the $50 toll and play him as well. :P
Thanks to all that contributed to the thread. I feel much better now.

Does Dunbar believe he can navigate 376 through the tunnels in time to submit a line up at Rivers…This is getting absurd
Hearing Wedesday’s DFS vote in PA has been postponed.

Interview with Rep Dunbar!
DONT GIVE UP THE SHIP PA
What did I tell you guys above? This legislation is in our favor. Dunbar and the committee are on our side. Fears of a DOJ shutdown are very real, however.
That’s huge! Thanks for posting that interview, I feel much better about our situation.
Thanks for posting this. Just saw this interview on the 5pm local news. Sounds much better then the article from last week.

Media misconstruing this poor guy. We were all ready to head to Westmoreland County with torches and pitchforks (kidding of course.) I like his intent and feel much better. And this is coming from a Philly Democrat (but fiscally moderate and voted for Sam Katz twice so I’m not too bad).
Thanks for the post!
Seems like great news. Should I still write any emails/letters?
