Of all the nonsense that has been going on for the past two weeks, this is the one thing that I think holds the most water. Scripts should have never been allowed on the sites for all the reasons that are likely to come out…

thats not really how lawsuits work.

also wallachlegal is basically a mouthpiece for the gambling industry that is trying to ban dfs. you’ve been pretty active bashing dfs. hmmm. and now you basically post an ad for this guy.

The players themselves are being named in these lawsuits? Wow.

  • KevKev198622

Yes thank you!! Get rid of SCRIPTS. All of them now.

  • osuryanf

While I don’t want DFS to be banned, I do think banning scripts is better for the game. How can the low man who’s trying to grind a $100-$1000 bankroll possibly compete vs. scripts? They should have never been permitted to begin with.

I’m sure the top level players who are reaping the benefits from it will complain… and I fully acknowledge the intelligence it takes to create such scripts/applications… but I don’t see how it’s a “fair” part of a “skill” game.

  • WilliamDeBrigham

yep few players ruin it for all, it has been leading up to this over the last 2 years… MD took it to whole new level

  • EadesScience

I thought that Rotogrinders provided the scripting tools for everyone so that all could be on a level playing field? At first just a few folks were using mass entry scripting and once the sites gave permission for this type of play, RG took the initiative and created a tool for both FanDuel and Draftkings.

    Build better scripts.

So dumb… whether you ban scripting or not… I’m still going to enter 200+ lineups every tournament. Scripting just makes the process easier, it’s not like scripting is winning me 1st place in any tourney. Ignorance is bliss.

Scripting is an Enormous advantage in NBA where you get late breaking injury/resting news and you can change all of your lineup in a minute where the average player without a script is F&CKED. If you dont think scripting is an advantage you are wrong

Go back and read through the forums for the past 4 years. None of this should be a surprise. The sites got arrogant and let their hubris get in the way of sound business decisions.

Scripting could be still allowed IF the sites generated one for themselves that ALL players had access to. That would allow all players to start from a common ground with no individual having more access to additional functionality (i.e., bum hunting, overlay searches, mass editing, etc) than the next guy.

The sites would just need to make that tool available on the front page and state that any usage of any other script would result in a lifetime ban from that site and could be punishable by law (or something like this).

It’s not the scripts that are hurting the industry, it’s that some people have access to them, while others don’t…and that not all scripts are created equally.

This seems to be getting worse every day. I remember reading threads months ago when people would claim that scripts and lack of transparency would kill the industry. The common response from many high profile players/members of this forum was “take of your tin foil hat”. I wish the sites would have paid more attention to problems that seemed obvious to those without a self serving agenda.

I think people still think the Channing Frye thing last year was due to scripts. I highly doubt it was. Anyone could have done it. The possibility was already out there that he was going to play. If you were already minimum punting at the position and never stacked more than 3 from that team, then throwing Frye into your 500 LU’s last minute would only have taken a few clicks.

So you ban scripting. I’m sure people already have LU builders that show them the fastest way to enter a number of LU’s quickly. Basically, manual scripting of sorts.

In NBA, it’s not hard to set up LU’s that leave you options for swaps after late breaking news.

Why do you keep saying us asking for a level playing field is “bashing dfs?”

Had the sites not disregarded our concerns so flippantly for so long, a lot of this mess could have been avoided.

So what happens if everyone is allowed to script… Could I have a group of friends use all our max entries to eat up, say, all the entries in the MLB Home Run, then with the same script we all dump all but 1 of our entries @ 15 mins and 10 seconds before lock, and possibly driving the overlay up to 80% or something?

I believe this is why certain pros were allowed to use these scripts because not only did they need their money to fill up these tournaments, they knew these guys were more than likely not going to dump huge chunks of them at last minute. If you give everyone that ability it could really make a mess of things. I don’t know why people don’t see that?

I hope they fight to stay in Florida. We have 9 pro sports teams here so 1 would assume there is a big player base here.
