    Hey Grinders,

We have partnered up with FanDuel to bring you a lowball freeroll tournament for tonight’s NBA slate!

If you are unfamiliar with lowball, the concept is simple: you are trying to score the LEAST amount of points.

    Rules:
    1. Must have a RotoGrinders account AND have your FanDuel username linked to it. (To link your account, go to your Profile, click the little person icon on the top right, then there is a section to add Screen Names. You can add your FanDuel account there.)
    2. Use at least 50,000 of the available 60,000 salary.
    3. Cannot play an injured player. All players must be Active. (To help make this clear, the player cannot be ruled out before the game starts. If a player is GTD and then ruled out and is in your lineup, your entry will not count)

    Prizes:
    1. $75
    2. $50
    3. $25
    4-10: RG T-Shirt or Hat

is it bad that I am struggling a whole lot more building this lineup than I do with a regular one?

    :) haha

  • KindGuy

    471 entries……. damn

  • detroittigers44

Looks like I am rolling out the “no peripheral stats” all-star team tonight!!! Let’s hope for a shitload of turnovers.

read above. only must be ACTIVE for the game. Doesn’t need minutes, injured players that are active are ok. In fact, anyone ill or injured but not inactive will probably be chalk. The risk is if you want to risk those who are GTD in later games. They may go inactive and eliminate your lineup after lineups lock.

Is this info correct? Wouldn’t this be a tough time to run this tournament because of the illness that sweeping the league? There are many players who are not injured and not released by the team but are simply sick. Those players can be played?

    Thanks for your answer.

Edit: I guess I need a defininition for active. Would Dwayne Wade be considered active for example? I’m having trouble with this because I don’t know if you mean they aren’t on injured reserve or something as being active or if you mean that they had to have not had a coach say that he’s not planning on playing them tonight

I think we should ask for analysis on why the lineup that wins this did so poorly. At least the key decisions like last minute additions because of injury but still playing etc.

Wade is not eligible because he is OUT today

    Perfect, thank you Mindofigor.

Those players can be played as long as they are active for the game tonight. They don’t have to play minutes but they must be active when the game starts. So Butler last night would’ve been a great play for this type of contest. D Rose on the other hand was announced out after lineup lock but before the game and therefore would’ve made your lineup invalid.

Correct, regardless of injury, sickness, ect, if a player is ruled OUT at any point tonight and he is in your lineup, it does not count. This is where game theory comes into play and deciding what risks you want to take.

A player does not need to play any minutes to be ACTIVE. There is a difference.

Can we get some clarification on this? It probably won’t ever happen again but technically, Rose wasn’t inactive. He was NWT-Not with the team… not sure if that would rule him invalid for this type of contest.

He would be considered out in this contest and would not be allowed in your lineup. The likely hood of this happening for a second time is very very low though.

What about someone like quinyin acy? Or a player picked up by another team recently, is active for that team, but maybe on FanDuel they’re listed for the old team

Don’t mean to be ticky-tac. There’s a wealth of players that are moved or picked up…

I dont have any clue how to attack this. Do I load up 2 or 3 $8k plus and fill the rest with scrubs or avg it out to 5.555k per player. This sux but I love it

Knowing how DFS works, Rondo lowball chalk means he’ll play 40 mins and get a triple double busting everyone

With the lineup the Bulls are rolling tonight there might be 40 minutes of garbage time.

Since you have to pick a couple of high priced guys to make the 50K…look for ones in the worst matchups. I’m using Kemba because he’s gonna get Patrick Beverly defense. Hope he busts, but of course, he will go off for 60 in a LOWBALL contest.

  • Orangeman96

Going with Rondo tonight too lol

  • Watchyahead

Really interested to see the lineups

Just realized we’re supposed to score the LEAST. Realized after noticing McDermott’s ownership was far too low.

  • detroittigers44

Combined 4 points from BroLo and Crowder after 1 quarter, I like it!

  • eperson911

What’s a good site to find who’s active, but not starting?

Nevermind, see it’s on the lineup page.

I see a bunch of invalid lineups already… RG will have to do some digging to find the lineups that actually qualify.

  • Kjwhalen77

So many invalid lineups that didn’t hit the salary minimum, too.

Some people are confused on being last
