Star studded field, strongest outside of the majors and the players. Decent contests, but DK could have gone a little bigger considering the field.

COURSE: Riviera Country Club, 7,322 yards, par 71. From the days when Douglas Fairbanks and Charlie Chaplin graced its fairways, Riviera has commanded its own star power since first opening its doors in 1927. Designer George Thomas pored over 15 possible layouts before settling on one that now features some of the TOUR’s most iconic holes. The par-3 sixth is famed for its bunker in the middle of the green, and No.10 is widely considered the best drivable par-4 in golf. The Los Angeles Open first arrived in 1929, and Ben Hogan’s three wins in an 18-month span – two L.A. Opens and the 1948 U.S. Open – earned Riviera the nickname “Hogan’s Alley.” This summer, the U.S. Amateur arrives for the first time.

Last years winner: Bubba Watson -14

Cut last year was even par.

Had a chalky 6/6 in the big birdie that went backwards in the 4th round. Really have to tighten up my core, I got way to spread out this week. Ready for Florida.

This is a huge problem for me. I just spread myself out so much. I just have to cut back on entries i think. When i max them i just spew so many random lineups.

In the US gambling winnings are equivalent to regular income (like bank interest), so they are taxed the same as anything else at your marginal rate (probably between 15-28% unless you are a super high earner). Winnings are taxed from the first dollar and you are obligated to report everything you make, whether or not you get a W2G or 1099-MISC. However most casinos/DFS sites/etc. will not send you a tax form unless you have at least $600 in winnings.

tldr – It’s all taxable but they won’t report it unless over $599 so you’re on the honor system.

I about tripled up this week on around $30 in entries, all GPP. Could have been so much better, but Rose crushed Scott in the 4th round. I should have gone with Pieters, lesson learned for next time.

I also fell behind quite a bit in OAD as a bunch of people had DJ this week, and JB disappointed in the 4th round after a stellar 3rd. Oh well!

Yes, nothing like taking a golfer that ends up T4 and falling 12 spots in the league standings. That’s what happens when DJ wins though.

Small victories help picking DJ on 80 teams and still have a losing weekend.
