      RG Overall Ranking

Star studded field, strongest outside of the majors and the players. Decent contests, but DK could have gone a little bigger considering the field.

COURSE: Riviera Country Club, 7,322 yards, par 71. From the days when Douglas Fairbanks and Charlie Chaplin graced its fairways, Riviera has commanded its own star power since first opening its doors in 1927. Designer George Thomas pored over 15 possible layouts before settling on one that now features some of the TOUR’s most iconic holes. The par-3 sixth is famed for its bunker in the middle of the green, and No.10 is widely considered the best drivable par-4 in golf. The Los Angeles Open first arrived in 1929, and Ben Hogan’s three wins in an 18-month span – two L.A. Opens and the 1948 U.S. Open – earned Riviera the nickname “Hogan’s Alley.” This summer, the U.S. Amateur arrives for the first time.

Last years winner: Bubba Watson -14

Cut last year was even par.

That’s the entire problem with the shitty pricing. You force these “obvious cheap guys” into lu and then they miss the cut and you ate screwed. Like someone else just said, cash games aren’t even fun, nobody in your LU is lower than 20% owned. It’s a joke. You are forced to play these guys bc you KNOW they should more than produce at their price and vegas agrees, so you play them as does everyone else, and you can’t differentiate (unless you wanna play some nobody for roughly the same price). It’s not a smart money decision.

Part of winning in cash games these days is thinking outside the box. As competitive as it has gotten you can’t just play all the chalk. It doesn’t work that way anymore. You have to pick one or two guys to fade. Unfortunately its not 2015 anymore when it comes to cash games in any sport.

Find the Pig contest is now open – the rules are as follows

low score wins, must use at least 45K of salary, I have noticed people getting exactly 45K and I want you to know you can use more if you like but not less.

A Prize of $1.60 for the highest salary player that MC is being offered. If it is one tie its the same as all ties and no prize is awarded. That is what is meant by single highest salary that misses the cut.

The prize will be given via a $2 H2H on a sunday contest or arrangements can be made. My entry will be either players listed as out or lowest salary possible. (for me its a game to finish as close to 0 pts as possible.) So you dont even need to be good at whatever sport the H2H is in.

On a side note LFN1992 and I still need to make a contest…. LOL 2 tries one by each of us has been unanswered.

Why even bother with pricing if they can’t get it right? DK may as well not have salaries just pick whoever you want. Laziness on DK’s part with the awful pricing yet again which is basically status quo at this point.

I really don’t know what to make of this number. 7200
I’m a big SWK fan but given your lol I think your see him as overpriced whicih is probs a fair assessment
But he’s so streaky and I think he might have turned the corner on his sore back…
His scorecard can get colorful but the kid is fearless
I’m super torn whether to massively back him or fade

His form is as bad as anyone on tour., and there are like 10 guys in his price range with the same upside and much better form. Just seems like a crazy play to make in this field. Risk far outweighs the reward.

Can someone in the Know, tell me how and when DK determines if they will make a Euro contest? I am assuming that it will not be this week. I think DK is prejudiced against the Aussies.

    I wish……

last week I think people that liked all the hi priced guys woulda done well. The past 5 weeks before they would have sunk faster than the Titanic.

Very true, he’s finished near the bottom of every event this year. I won a lot when he won last year so it’s likely rose tinted glasses on my part. I really feel he’s got a top 10 in him soon however

  • timusbr

I make contests every week, I want to get the highest participation possible. Its not easy to get that right. How hi can I go and still get the contest playable.

In that light, assigning salaries has got to be a god awful job. But someone has that responsibility. Maybe DK should hire some of this forums people to make salaries or advise.
Anyway, I would like to get a DK managers opinion on how or why things get done the way they are done. No one could satisfy every person on this board. But it is fun to read.

  • noddy

DK got the salaries right. Time to move on. Nothing to see here. And if you feel they didn’t then put together that winning lineup and take down all the monies.

They aren’t. The euro event this week is a mix of match play and normal scoring so no go

  • QSchoolDropOut

Last week I had Rose, Laird and Speith in all my lineups and I broke about even because Speith won.

I play the $3 tournament, and made about 8 different lineups with those three guys. I was doing really good until Ricky Barnes fell off the wheels.

    day-to-day

    Koepka at $7,100 is hilarious.

  • MrSnuffleupagus

Would you guys stop bitching about pricing and grow a fcking pair. It’s not like your the only one who has those salaries. If that’s your excuse why you suck then stop playing DFS

  • Kjwhalen77

Some weeks it takes stars and scrubs…. some weeks it takes balanced lineups…. IMO the pricing helps making GPP decisions. You know where a chunk of ownership is gonna land in certain price ranges.

Haha, agree on so many levels. The pricing makes it more fun when the “chalk” misses the cut.

Can someone with some actual golf knowledge tell me what the hell is wrong with Bubba’s game? Or is karma finally starting to bite him in the ass for being a prick.

It’s annoying because DK is now literally the only place to play (FantasyDraft copies DK’s pricing, but SOFTER so it is even worse). In the past if DK had crap pricing (which happened a few times) you could just play more on Aces/Feud/DraftDay/Victiv. Now that option is gone. Don’t understand why people are supporting DK dismantling a good product for no reason (every PGA tournament filled last season, usually 12-24 hrs early).

  • bgraffunder

On a side note, how much DJ ownership is too much? Thinking about locking him in.

  • Kjwhalen77

Last week it was O’Hair, Laird, Kuchar, and Furyk.
Week before that it was Woodland, Knox, Finau, Watson, Bradley, and Thomas
Before that it was Laird, DJ, Day, and Swafford.

Anyone of these “chalk” guys can put up a MC at any time.

  • Dewoc19

That pricing though, holy shitballs Batman!!

This is golf, guys miss the cut all the time (doesn’t mean that top 20 OWGR players should be the same price as club pros). Overall, the mispriced guys have crushed (not surprisingly, as they are generally top 50 players in the world). In Phoenix, Bubba missed the cut but Louis and An were in the winning LU. At Pebble, Furyk MC and Rose was mediocre but Lowry, Kisner and/or Stricker were in 50% of the top 10 Birdie LUs. Saying that bad pricing is good because mispriced guys can still miss the cut is like saying Mike Trout should be 3.5K because he can go 0-4 or Ronaldo should be 7K because he might not score a goal.

So it should be tougher pricing so everyone has the same 1-2 cheap golfers? No thanks! Much better when you have so many options.
