      RG Tiered Ranking

Star studded field, strongest outside of the majors and the players. Decent contests, but DK could have gone a little bigger considering the field.

COURSE: Riviera Country Club, 7,322 yards, par 71. From the days when Douglas Fairbanks and Charlie Chaplin graced its fairways, Riviera has commanded its own star power since first opening its doors in 1927. Designer George Thomas pored over 15 possible layouts before settling on one that now features some of the TOUR’s most iconic holes. The par-3 sixth is famed for its bunker in the middle of the green, and No.10 is widely considered the best drivable par-4 in golf. The Los Angeles Open first arrived in 1929, and Ben Hogan’s three wins in an 18-month span – two L.A. Opens and the 1948 U.S. Open – earned Riviera the nickname “Hogan’s Alley.” This summer, the U.S. Amateur arrives for the first time.

Last years winner: Bubba Watson -14

Cut last year was even par.

The first hole is also misleading. Par is bogey on that hole.

Yeah #2 evens things off though – scoring average on both holes is around the same. Lots of guys going Birdie-bogey on 1-2

Im thinking right now your right

but I am no weatherman and unfamiliar with LA. But I can read a radar.

I do local meteorology on the east coast but it’s totally different how storms react and the tracks they take so I don’t comment much with the weather on the west coast. But like you said reading the radar it definitely has taken a northern shift which from the models I looked at were not expected. Maybe the larger cells grow right off the coast and the worst of it is still coming but that’s not what the radar is showing now. Will be a lot of steady rain maybe just not the 3-5 inches everyone was predicting.

You just can’t trust the weather forecast. We should all know that by now. And yet I made a couple lineups because of the forecast. Silly me

I think the weather will have an impact once the winds reach 20 mph in a few hours.

not silly, look about 10 miles north of LA and everything foretasted looks to be true.

So right when the AM/PM guys tee off. Lol
when everyone thought the golf course would likely be flooded.

Did mats really have a 173 yard drive??

  • elmore0631

    bubba 14%
    charl 7%
    koepka
    molinari
    lowry
    horschel
    swafford 5%

    doesn’t count the sneds @ +2

gotta be a pretty solid % to almost certainly mc.

  • Dewoc19

Yeah that whole Am Thursday/PM Friday thing is really looking like it’s gonna backfire, which is really gonna suck for me

Yah I was thinking same thing as about 85% of ownership tied up in those guys at +2 or worse that you listed with Sneds included.

JT rolling in 10 footers all day lol.

I thought the majority of forecasts didn’t have the real rain arriving until about 11 a.m. PST, or 10 at the earliest. It’s still only 9:30.

My experience has been an extreme negative on predicting weather and best tee time to play. I would like to say that I didnt take it into consideration this week but thats a lie, faded a little Mats for DJ and a couple of other tweaks.

but with that forecast, damn you had to think about it.

I am a cynic and find this weather forecasting extremely funny, weather and a few miles there is such a difference.
In college in central Illinois, one county was in extreme drought and the next one over was perfectly fine. 30 miles difference.

Yeah according to future radar the pm guys probably won’t tee off today but who knows…

By my count 42 golfers on course now..18 are over par on round..only 5 of the 18 over par are above cut line..so as of right now the better players score wise are handling the conditions better, which makes sense..this at 1145 am.. will update shortly to see if getting worse..

1230pm update…72 golfers on course..21 are over par on there round..only 4 people over par who are above cut line…cut line -1 had 73 golfers at 1130, now 77..

Not looking good for those of us who played the weather theory..our afternoon golfers may get the worse, higher winds and the bumpy afternoon greens plus the rain..

Jimmy should as the rumour on tour a few years ago was that DJ nailed Jimmy’s wife Erin in a limo at a tourney while Jimmy was on the course playing on the other side of the draw.

Day missing with his driver right all day. Thought when he missed he usually went left. weird
