BIF, favorite 7k or under play if you wanna fade Varner chalk? Unless you think varner is way better than others

    Zero Varner for me

Most of my punts are Saunders, Ortiz, Uihlein, Vegas, Rodgers

I don’t see the tiger effect being like it was. They used to fear his presence. I have 3 Rory/Bryson stacks.

    100% Rory!
100% Tiger! (in my pig LU)

You better get to tinkering. I have a few Varner, but pretty heavy Saunders and Vegas. It doesn’t work out well for players when I pick them.

last thought, there is no way hidecki is 21%. this isn’t phoenix. even with the noto love, there’s no way he cracks the top 10 in ownership imho.

    Matt Kuchar or Tommy Fleetwood?

  • badtrip

Just opened twitter and Kuch has spoken about his caddie issue. I don’t think he is handling it the right way. I expect he hears “cheapskate” a few times while walking around the course.

I get that a local temp caddie shouldn’t earn what a permanent, traveling caddie does, but damn he’s losing a lot of image equity,

The forecast makes building lineups hard.

I think I’m going to hope for a late start Thursday but get a wave in.

That would mean the Thursday PM guys play Friday morning and then Saturday morning.

However if Thursday is a total washout then they end up playing Friday afternoon in probably the worst conditions anyone will play in.

  • Shadetree42

I’m also thinking the PM guys will have the edge — assuming the AM guys play at all on Thu. Anyone here know what the usual policy is for the PGAT wrt to weather delays? I’m assuming they would not announce a full round postponement before the first orig. scheduled tee time, or is that inaccurate?

Also, for weather/golf gurus, how likely is it that they will play at all tmw after a significant rain?

Fairly new to golf DFS, in case it’s not obvious!

  • BrowInLockerRoom

Of course almost all the guys I want to play are Thursday AM.guys

Don’t be knockin on Ryan Moore! It’s been a rough start of the year for him, but he really played well after an awful start in round 2 at TPC Scottsdale.

He is very tilting when I play him but I doubled down as he is my highest owned (~45%) and is my OAD

  • hautalak

I’m also just playing my lineups “straight”, no adjusting for weather. Now for showdown I think I’ll stick to PM guys for today but we’ll see. Why must weather torture us already this year?!

It’s a crapshoot as to at what point the weather gets bad enough to stop play.
They are supposed to play through rain and wind until the course is too wet to play (pooling of water on greens) or balls moving in the wind on greens. They often stop a little before that to e sure they can get players and public off course if weather is severe (lightning, wind gusts, etc..).

Depending on how well course drains/dries, re-starting of play varies by locale. They often don’t scrap the whole day very often. It is possible they play a little, stop play then send guys back out 4hrs later if it is ok to play as especially Thur-Fri, they need to try and play as much as possible if they can because 144 golfers needing to play the first 36 and trying to get it done by Sunday evening for TV, sponsors, etc..

Obviously Mother Nature can trump that but that is their goal.

So is the 1st round gonna be like in Cadyshack when the old guy and Bill Murray play in that storm?

“I’d keep playing. I don’t think the heavy stuff is gonna come down for quite awhile”

I’m not getting carried away with the weather either. It’s a little too varying for me.

When it’s not “clear” there’s no point to try. I’ll trust Roth with his forecasts. Maybe I’ll be more productive today if we get delayed golf…

im torn…. bubba is now projected under 10% …. i think its a case of everybody saying hes gonna be chalky so they arent playing chalky bubba and he comes in under 10% … i had a nice lineup until all these projections have him lowered significantly … he screws up my lineup because of that 9700 price tag…. but hes in good form and its his course… if he IS low owned hes the nut

RG has him at 11% as of this morning… I’d be absolutely shocked personally if a guy who has won this event 3 of the past 5 years, has good current form, and has really high DK scoring potential comes in under 10%

I think Bubba is probably the most popular “anchor” in balanced builds where everyone tries to jam in the the midrange guys because he’s shown he has a lot of win equity.

I also think for those who go with a bigger stud he fits in fairly easily as a #2 man also. Putting together two guys over $10k is pretty difficult and basically forces you to pass up a lot of very attractive and popular DFS names who are in that $7500-$9k range.

I would guess he comes in at 13-14%. I feel like the RG projections consistently underrepresent the ownership of a few types of guys, and guys who won this event last year are one of them….

Think about how many guys wake up at 730 AM and are driving to work and think “My god im gonna feel like an idiot if i dont play the guy who won 3 times in the past 5 years and he wins” and jam in another couple lineups with him in it at the red light.

It really doesn’t take a lot of people jamming a guy in there like that to make his ownership shoot up.

    They also have
    Fleetwood: 23%
    Finau: 20%

I’ll go with Fleetwood 28% and Finau 25% in the main event. People are used to seeing those guys with a $10k price tag and seeing them at $9100 and $8600? They aren’t going to be able to help themselves… and with pretty good reason i mean those guys are great bets to make the cut, rack up some birdies, and just look really good in those pants.

    Sorry, I just sent again.

you can enjoy the Happy meal as a small inexpensive Gpp. 100 people pay’s top 10.
My preference if given a chance on Gpp’s would be a payout in the 10 to 15% range.

Dont worry about the cup, with 2X points coming up for majors everyone is still in it. It is actually designed so you have a shot come fed ex playoff time. where 4x points are awarded.

It would be awesome if a small % of the Happy Meal pot each week was able to be withheld to payout season long winners. I wish there was a way DK could set up stuff like that….

In poker they used to have bad beat jackpot tables where it would withhold a tiny amount of the rake and build up these massive jackpots… most regs hated it but it brings in so much casual interest from fish…

Ive always thought if DK could withhold a tiny bit of rake and build up a “Perfect Lineup” jackpot where if you pick the absolute perfect lineup you win the jackpot it would be super popular…. i mean who isn’t throwing in $5 into NBA that night when the perfect lineup jackpot is up to $1.8 million on a 3-game slate with 3 obvious plays?
