My annual reminder about the greens at this golf course – you should fully expect to be tilting over your guys missing short putts as Riviera CC has the highest amount of missed putts from 5ft or less every year on tour.

Between them being prone to being bumpy (especially later in the day), the Poa Annua grass and the small undulating greens mean that no short putt is straight which causes many missed putts.

Does keeping the flagstick in affect anything?

When tiger reaches his late 40’s, will he start dancing around in dress shirts he’d never actually wear? I would do it for a few million no problem

LOL like they said in the old tv game name that tune

I will dance around in that shirt for $20

Sungjae Im just isn’t going to take a week off apparently – I guess he did just have Sunday off but this is week 6 in a row.

Not really as most guys take the flag out on short putts as the pin and shadow are a distraction but I was actually think more about the other rule change where you can now tap down spike marks – Phil said this past week it made a difference on the bumpy Poa greens at Pebble. Maybe it’s not as big a factor this week but the undulations here should still mean more misses than a typical week

Any crazy weather expected this week or are we getting back to playing dome golf again

Do terrible putters become even worse? Or does this just bring the better putts down a notch?

No wonder Bubba always wins here.. he misses 5 footers anyway so he is pretty much on even ground with everyone!

It evens things out a bit I think and probably narrows the gap between good and bad putters but it doesn’t magically flip the good with the bad

I typically avoid bad putters here and also avoid first timers as this is a thinkers course and you need to know where to miss here – worlds greatest short par 4 is here and we’ll most likely see everything from a 2 to a 7 there and it’s all about where to miss it or leave your tee ball – the hole plays differently every day depending on pin position.

Tell ya one thing I would be scared to death of this week… the Kokrak train… Since I been playing this almost 2 years now, He was always a let down in this type of spot. Yet, it was the same spot for the last 2 he finished 20th. Maybe he is a solid play now. Just a scary MC Option

I’ve been pretty high on Kokrak in recent events, and his (probably-meaningless, relatively small sample) slow starts/Round 1 woes have induced me to go with a small classic exposure due to MC risk followed by 100% showdown ride or die Friday on. It’s worked well, but again, probably just short term luck rather than good strategy.

my cash team gonna blow it this week. I just can’t escape break even

  • dangasin

Even though break even in draftkings means overcoming the gigantic 10%+ rake. Those are the kinds of returns that warren buffet makes each year

Looked up Pacific Palisades, CA on the Weather Channel.

I haven’t cashed in 3 weeks and still 4th in Happy meal? I’ll take it

  • timusbr

last year only 4 holes finished below par. 1 the par 3 6th hole was so close the Ace is the difference between below par and over par. The other 3 were all the par 5’s. particularly on hole 1 that produced 30 eagles.

Kind of what makes this week even tougher. Good CH too… Sure past 2.5 years he is always 20th is seems. Funny, 6/6 this year and you would think he could bank more than 240K. Really works hard for his 1.2M per year. If only he could land a 2nd or 3rd once in a while he could play 5 less weeks a year.

    Doing ok = losing 50% a week
    pretty good = -30%
    breakeven = -15 %
    Doing well = Break Even
Banking duckets = +10% ONE week and falling back to “break even the next 3”

Worst putters from inside 5 feet this year. Some of name players

200-220 ranking. Na. Scott. RCB. Mats. Spieth. Holmes. Day

150-199 ranking. Koepka. Glover. Casey. Stanley. Dufner. DJ. Bradley. Michelson.

If I play any of these, will just close my eyes.

I’m in 3x – thanks again – that saves me from having to scan through the pod/videos

It way more popular already this week with over 2300 in already on Monday when I think last week it was only at 2500 on Tues night

Without looking at any salaries or stats, I circled my initial pool of 34 guys (I’ll drop some and cut it back to 23-26 before building lineups) but I have 7 of those guys 😂

Last week I posted a stat listing on multi course tournies and dead last was Matt Every who I had already penciled in to play at 20-25%, he finished 14th so maybe I’m on the right track with these anti-stat plays…🙄
