Fanduel’s entire MLB slate yesterday should be refunded to those who lost. The Arizona SF game had a scheduled start time of 10:15PM est on their slate. The actual 1st pitch was 10:10PM est and the first 3 ARI batters already got out before that game was locked. I was able to switch out my C/1b and util spot with Posey and Mccutch after I saw my batters went 0-2 in that top of the inning.

See box score start time at the bottom of the page here:

    https://www.mlb.com/gameday/d-backs-vs-giants/2018/06/04/530300#game_state=final,game_tab=box,game=530300

Not sure how many people took advantage of the error and switch out say a highly owned Goldy, especially after seeing his first out.

What’s this in reference to? Me taking advantage of seeing %% ownership in a game and using it to my advantage? Or advising those who possible got screwed to get a refund?

Not taking advantage of it would be moronic.

Not getting a refund would be even more moronic knowing that others had a step up on you because you didn’t notice.

    Enjoy.

So how much money did you win last night with your super secret swap?

  • deactivated280952

22.5 point difference which allowed me to cash. Meaning someone lost because of that. Why would you not seek a refund if you know Fanduel messed up and allowed this to happen?

I’m sure some people will seek refunds and others who aren’t complete cheapskates and have some integrity in their lineup construction and how they play DFS won’t.

  • Jvanspro

I wouldn’t because I have more integrity than that. We all know what you did is not right. You can spin it however you choose, but it doesn’t change the fact that you knowingly cheated. That’s all.

Web brings up an interesting point here

The sites should have a check in olace that isn’t just official start time.

They should also automatically make anyone who swapped like this take a loss on that entry.

I beleive dk auto makes any lineup that swap like this lose, but don’t quote me on that.

DFS has been around long enough where this should be hard coded into the sites

  • bentecshe

Sites should automatically lock a game when they receive a stat regarding that game from their provider. Crazy to me that they don’t.

Yes, to save the integrity of the contest they should lock each game as soon as they start receiving live updates from their data provider. They would still get backlash from users that were unable to edit lineups up until the advertised contest start time, but that’s better than having a contest compromised.

I noticed this too on DK, can’t say I didn’t think about swapping Godley out to Holland after he struck out the side…. after getting -6 from Godley, makes me wish that I did.

Hey guys, Nik here. Due to our stats provider reporting an incorrect start time of the ARI vs. SF game last tonight (10:15 pm ET instead of 10:10 pm ET), users could edit lineups with players from ARI vs. SF even though the game had already started.

We will be paying out those users who would have won had those edits not been made. We will also be offering a freeroll for all users from all four affected slates.

Relative to the product suggestions, I think they’re on the right track and we’ll dig into it as soon we can. Any other questions, feel free to email me: nik.bonaddio@fanduel.com

    Thanks!

Just FYI on Draftkings – looks like they didn’t allow any swaps to be made in that time frame (which seems like the right thing to do)

    Hi Jon,

Yesterday (6/4/18), our official stats provider sent us an incorrect start time of 10:15 pm EST for the Diamondbacks vs Giants game. This resulted in us incorrectly allowing late swaps involving this game to existing entries for a period of 5 minutes.

As game integrity is of paramount concern to us at DraftKings, we immediately took action to remedy the issue and ensure the integrity of the game last night was of the highest standard.

    1) Any contest entries that made late swaps between 10:10pm EST and 10:15pm EST involving this Diamondbacks vs. Giants game have been voided, and entry fees for those entries have been refunded to the player who made the late swap.

We will always keep the integrity of our contests at the highest standard in the industry. We will be working closely with our official stats provider to ensure this issue does not occur again in the future.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Well played. That seems more than fair.

On a separate note, you should bring FD back to Texas so I can play once again.

How can we be sure that they’re telling the truth? Did anyone here who took advantage get their entries refunded?

Also, when did they notice this issue? If they just noticed this morning, then people who took advantage and cashed could have withdrawn their winnings. So for anyone who cashed either the main slate or late slate last night, when did you get credited with your winnings?

    They are telling the truth.
I tried to make some changes to my lineups around 10.13 and I got a generic error message.

I wonder who would be more annoying to be around for a day. Sochoice is a smart ass know it all who overcompensates for his lack of success in this game. Nymjib is a constant whiner who always wants something for free and pesters the hell out the companies until they give him a freebie to go away. It’s a coin flip.
