it would be interesting to see if anystate appropriates some of the tax towards addiction treatment or something

To add in come actual commentary. Maybe sites should use some of the absurd tax on it to educate new users to not actually waste time researching for MLB and how to create a dartboard to use when making any lineup decisions for tournaments.

This is insane if its actually gross and not net. It is a larger tax than the entire profit the sites make. Theres no way DFS survives if 15 cents of every dollar goes to tax and the sites need to make around 10 cents for profitability. This is worse than having no dfs bill passed at all. How the hell did they get the idea to do gross revenue?

gross revenue for the site is the rake, so 15% of the rake is what they are referring to here as opposed to 15% of entry fees which is what you were eluding to.

Let’s hope we see some significant progress today, we need to take a step forward each day in order to get this passed by the deadline!

Keeping my fingers crossed, but as a native New Yorker, I have grown to expect the worst when it comes to anything politically involved. I hope I’m wrong but anyone from NY who claims they are extremely confident is probably not being honest.

I am sure I have told you this before, but Age of Quarrel is probably my favorite hardcore lp of all time, not much comes close either.

Not sure where to post this and didn’t want to start a new thread but as of today NYers who were editing lineups in NY while entering in a legal DFS state we are no longer allowed to edit lineups. Just got the confirmation from draftkings

Try to update my lineup today and was getting an error. Spoke with draftkings customer service and they informed me no more updating while in New York

only from the app? from the site?

  • proshares

I don’t even think you were able to get to the site version. I just got the message today when I got home and tried to switch out Phillips. I was able to do a global swap though.

Interesting I may try that tomorrow

Hopefully they just changed it because with the bill in place they want to make sure everything is done “by the book.”

This. I think this is actually a good sign for DFS in NY. Editing teams in NY and having friends enter them from out out state was a pretty well known way to escape the geolocation procedures. I’m sure with the bill finalizing and at max 2 weeks away from some big decisions, DK wanted to have everything perfect just in case.

I don’t think anyone on these threads ever advocated for this as it is likely a violation of the TOS for the sites. Travelling to a different state, registering leagues, and then editing from home yourself was what I and many others were engaging in.

I actually did the same exact thing as you did as the PATH was a trip I could take every day but I’ve seen on Twitter that people were having friends enter for them.

Be careful with this, I had a friend in California enter for me and was blocked due to “1 person per account policy”

  • scsa1998

Also to update the ability to edit in ny that DK told me yesterday about. A different rep today told me we are still able to edit so who knows. Had me reinstall the app and try again.

You entered a contest from across the country and then edited from the other side. You don’t think that was gonna bring up a red flag? lol

Wasn’t thinking when it was done. Spoke to them and got it straightened out.

  • noddy

Is it just DK and FD that you can’t from NY or is it all the sites?

  • scsa1998

Could be a false alarm, today it works just fine. Edited my lineups normally.

  • ClownShoes

This needs to get passed. I am beyond disgusted about this Racino nonsense. Do they really think no DFS is going to up Racino business?. Racino target demo is over 60 with low IQ. I really hope this is not a stumbling block. Lets get this passed. June 16th will be here soon!
