After ten days it’s automatically takes effect bill signed or not. Won’t be 2 months

To be clear it’s ten days after it reaches the governor’s desk. That has not happened yet & there is no definitive time frame that is going to happen.

Is there any way we can contact people to EXPEDITE this process of getting the bill on his desk?

Agreed. But I understand completely getting billable hours from this. Wallach makes very valid points but he sure as hell loves to stoke the flames. DFS has been a boon to gaming attorneys and lobbyists over the past year. Question is when will the VC welfare dry up to pay these retainers?

I’m afraid there are enough sour pricks out there, namely casinos, who want to see this ended. Even those who gamble at casinos will say, at least it’s in brick and mortar establishes vs. The “Wild West” of online.

What Wallach won’t tell you is this is a waste of time because since there is a majority of votes in both houses, amending the constitution would not be a problem, plus voters want it too. It’s just plain silly if someone tries to challenge the dfs law in New York. No matter which way you put it potential challengers to this bill can’t win.

I’m not complaining about it not being signed yet. I’ll gladly wait an extra 10 days or so then not being able to play at all. I’m just happy they passed it.

  • scsa1998

I’m not complaining as I live close enough to the NJ and CT boarders so I can enter without a problem. But i’m tired of sitting in rush hour traffic in the morning.

Does anyone know if the bill has even reached his desk yet?

  • ohbhaive

I don’t think it has yet. Besides twitter I’ve been checking nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2015/S8153
They’re pretty timely with the updates

Not yet. It will definitely be updated in this thread and on Twitter when it happens. Tom Precious is probably the best follow for this.

    EXPEDITE the bill, LEGGO. WEE.

I am a NY resident and I would just like to acknowledge the fact that fantasy aces took good care of us when nobody else would or could. I dont know if I’m even going back to FD.

FD is for my lotto/lightning in a bottle dreams. Rake just goes up and up, and that, among other factors make the games harder and harder to beat long-term. Just wait til NFL rake increases. They seem very short-sighted at times over there..

Really have enjoyed Aces in the interim here. That being said, unlikely they will be able to survive in NY under the new legislation unless they grow significantly. :(

FA unfortunately never cornered their market opportunity and their small prize payouts are the issue..Its a very good site but they dont get enough traffic to be able to offer anywhere near the large payouts on the FD/DK scale…..

So basically we are at the bottom of the list. Honestly, it makes sense after watching the assembly and Senate on Friday, they were talking about a lot of stuff like drug abuse and education. I’m assuming fd, dk just want new york back in time for the nfl season.

I like playing on aces, I really hope they can still operate in New York after this because I will continue to play on their site, but I do miss playing in those big gpps.

  • SuperMudMuppet

Agreed Fantasy Aces is awesome but not having the HUGE GPPs is boring.

I remember right before the vote there was a guy in this thread that swore Dk and fan duel would be up and running within two days of the vote. someone else and myself tried to explain to him that it would be at least two weeks minimum before they were back up and running but he refused to listen.

Yeah they didn’t listen because they don’t understand how this works. Even calling me names and that I don’t know what I’m talking about. They probably annoying the hell out of dk and fd as I predicted. I hope ppl who drive miles upon miles do this full time because if not you are truly obsessed with this thing. I’m willing to wait because it could have been worse. I had a backup plan if dfs would not have returned to New York. I hope they come back by July because I want a shot at qualifying for the mlb tourney in Nashville. I love basketball and baseball but hate football because it is very random as hell. I know there is a method to every madness but football is down right ridiculous and I’m going to start making some very ridiculous lineup. There is sometimes no reasoning in football and I’m going to treat it as such

This DFS bill brings revenue to NY State.I cant imagine there will be any long delays unless Cuomo is not onboard this, which all reports indicate he is..Sensible guess is this coming week bill hits his desk, and a quick signing by the Governor.DK available to NYers in 2 weeks or less after signing is my guess.Waiting for Cuomo to receive bill has given time for DK and FD to get everything right once NY is legal again.DK CEO gave conflicting comments about NY.He said it can be up and running in 4hours after bill is signed, but he also mentioned start of football season.FD I am not sure.
