You cant compare Mississippi to New York.
You think the gaming commission in NY gives a rat’s ass what Mississippi did? Each state beats to their own drum.

I can stand waiting. That’s not what bothers me. What annoys me to no end is the lack of a timetable. Even just a hint would be nice. DK hasn’t been saying anything on social media about when they will come back or even an estimate. They’ve just been recycling the same tweet. It’s kind of comical actually if you go on their twitter feed and just scroll down. I just want to know when I can stop having to travel to NJ!

Dk doesn’t have any idea when they’re coming back either. They did everything they could, now it just has to get approved by the board. When that happens is completely out of their control

    This..

Also you have to keep in mind that this is the first time ever that the gaming commission had to approve something like this. Im sure they’re still setting up protocol for handling the approvals.

    Application cant be that complicated…
Cuomo signed the bill and everyone and their mother knows bill was approved specifically for DK and FD.
Gaming commission wont take too long…DK and FD of course meet the criteria for a temporary permit.

Each one is hundreds of pages to review. I would also imagine that they will release all of the permits at the same time so that one site doesnt get an advantage over another.

ASAP is reassuring on the NYGC twitter feed

  • louislipps

Aren’t they probably paying close attention to the guarantees of a level playing field—re: scripts, mitigating fraud, etc?

  • MRCOOKONUTS

Yeah they will review hundreds of pages just like Hilary’s team reviewed all her emails before they were deleted.Hundreds of pages for just a few changes DK and FD made? seems odd.

Not only are they screwing us over but literally costing the state thousands of dollars a day.

What’s wrong with u guys? Someone already pointed out that another state took a couple weeks before players start playing again. Yes every state is different, but the common theme is Regulation so please give them at least this week. This is not abc 123 anymore. It’s not the Wild Wild West anymore. Just be thankful and glad that DFS is here to stay. Some of u acting like there is no life other than DFS. Enjoy life a little man.

DFS for alot of people is an addictive disease, and there is no real life beyond that. The only enjoyment in this world for many is DFS.It fulfills a space missing in their life so the wait for DFS to return is unbearable for some folks. And for the miniscule of NY folks who make a living at DFS,they go to NJ or Ct to enter,or have a friend/family member in a non restricted state enter for them. All inconveniences until NY is up and running again this week..

Such a dumb statement. For some players, this is their lively hood. For others, a hobby. The state decided it was “illegal” to play fantasy sports. It’s a joke. People have every right to be pissed off when the government over steps their boundaries and encroaches on their freedoms. They wanted a piece of the pie, aside from the taxes New Yorkers were already paying on winnings. So, asking for them to get the money grab over with quickly is too much to ask for, to you? Gtfo lol enjoy live outside of dfs, most people do. Stop acting high and mighty on the RG forums haha

Whatever, I was also the same person who was in here telling people after they made it legal that it would be weeks and not days until the governor signed the bill. Just because you want to play today doesn’t make you right. Like I said earlier the timing has been very similar to Mississippi so my bet is by this Friday or next Monday NY will be playing again. If it happens before then you can consider it a bonus.

  • wideopen23

You guys that are complaining about not getting access right away have no idea how close you were to never having daily fantasy in NY or waiting years for something to pass. Online poker players have been shut out for years.

Whatever dude. The ones who do it for a living took a risk because they knew DFS was operating in a grey area, so stop spew nonsense. It was very close for NY being shut out. Fd and DK knew it was in a grey area when the ags began to fight them so they took it to legislators rather than to the courts. They knew it was much easier that way rather than settling this in the courts. So again my friend we should all count our blessings. We are privilege to still have this shiit.

    • Ranked #26

      RG Tiered Ranking

The online poker legislation did pass through the Senate last year but never made it to the Assembly floor. Online poker will pass hopefully in 2017 because the sites will be linked to the brick & mortar casinos being built (the first one in Schenectady is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2017). Online poker disappeared in NYS on 4/15/11 but will be back because the revenue generated will far surpass any DFS revenue generated and look how eager the politicians were to get their hands on that..
