Typical for the end of session…lots of rumors, but I’m not worried. Things still moving forward in the NYS Assembly with the #DFS bill.

Said in another tweet we should know more tomorrow…

Tomorrow is the big day. Tell your members the truth—this issue will impact how you vote in November.

Kudon is the lobbyist for DFS. I wish we knew which members were on the fence.

    Fuck

This is what I was referring to. It just doesn’t make sense. I think it gets through based on everything else were hearing, but this is a slight cause for concern, even though it honestly doesn’t add up lol

Ok gotcha. I understand your concerns. It adds up perfectly though because if they voted 53-5 in favor of poker then the question is now out of the 53, how many of them have ties to the casinos/racinos? The conclusion I’ve drawn is that it will be a very close vote. But I will be optimistic because of what bonacic said

And I don’t think any of NYS casinos or racing have ties to Sheldon Adelson. I can tell you 11 of the 12 casinos in PA want online Poker but the Lehigh Valley’s delegation was unanimously against it due to Sands.

That kind of vote in NYS for iPoker is surely casino backed while the “concerns” are also casino influenced as well. If the casinos can get their poker revenues in, hopefully they will back off DFS.

Very true. I don’t think they would back off dfs. They hate it. Period. The thing I’m disappointed with are the big 4. They all embrace it but don’t want to take much active role because of the perception of dfs with gambling. The casinos power are nowhere near these guys and if they would have stepped up then this would have been a done deal a long time ago. Remember these guys got a specific carve out for fantasy sports with the federal government. I’m very disappointed in them, but I hope dfs pulls through tonight. Let’s go New York!!!!

Both houses voting tonight, so we will know for sure the fate of DFS

Is there any specific time when this will happen tonight? i want to watch closely..

  • Chuky

There is no set time. Bonacic said the senate will vote post midnight and the house could be anytime today

  • Defjux41

Going to be a long night.

Exactly. If Roger Goodell got off his ass, this would be long over. The major gaming companies are piss in the wind compared to the Big 4 yet they are controlling the debate in NY, IL and once in PA.

Funny this news comes on the day of voting. Late tonight, tomorrow can’t come fast enough. Nothing is done till its done. Still have my champagne on ice. I won’t be bait into any news today.

i would be shocked at this point if it didnt get done….

I always thought it would be a smart move for FD/DK just to throw the casinos a bone here and there and show them they aren’t enemies. A Banner ad on certain pages or a branded big online tourney or a live final at a casino all make sense to get these casino pigs on your side for legalization without having to pay actual ‘protection’ $$$.

Hopefully this move is not too late.

That sounds great but dozens (and potentially hundreds of future) live finals in Vegas didn’t hinder Nevada from banning DFS. These fucking pigs don’t want a piece of the pie, they want the pie, they demand the pie.

Brilliant strategy! In fact casinos near major sports stadiums I think would mutually benefit from such arrangements. I railed against shotgun partnerships that forced the sites through casinos but advertising partnerships are brilliant. I could see Philly Live! or SugarHouse in Philly and Rivers in Pittsburgh doing this as well.

It would also encourage sports fans in general to trust DFS more.

  • Defjux41

Looks like it passed through rules now, which means onto the floor for a vote!
