Before anyone jumps on me about this post, I’m not screaming conspiracy I’m just very curious about this guy on FanDuel (jtppick6) leading the Sunday Million. Checking his stats he’s only been a FD member since last Wed. So he is leading the top two spots with and two 10th place spots. Now how would someone just starting last week already know about running identical lineups and be lucky enough to have 4 spots in the top 10? This guy either has a huge horseshoe stuck up his ass or this just doesn’t add up. Oh yeah he has ZERO cashes so far since joining FD.

It’s like people don’t understand mathematics with Beasley last week,

Could you please expand on your theory^^^^^^^^^?

    Math and Beasley?

He went off in the second 1/2 when the PHILLY DB was playing the whole 2nd half having not a clue or vaguely a clue of what was going on due to a concussion.

No, Fanduel is not out to get people by throwing in fake lineups after players go off for great games – it’s complete loser mentality to assume that.

But you can’t prove that b/c the #2 DFS Company in the world doesn’t give CSV files — the best thing about DFS is the ole saying “build better lineups” baby

I think that is the greatest reason in the world for someone having a good game.

And before you attack me personally (probably too late)…I enjoy DFS. I also enjoyed online poker. Online poker was ruined by greed and cheats. Maybe if more players would have asked tough questions about online poker it would not have ended the way it did.

Seems like you more enjoy calling DFS players degenerate gamblers.

Last Monday I walk into my office. One of the girls says to me, “Don’t you play on Draftkings?”

She then goes on to tell me how her brother played for the first time, deposited $20 and did the Sunday Million. He hit 20th place for $15,000. He barely watches sports and just picked guys who he knew and filled in the rest of the spots with guys who fit and had a high points per game or whatever.

    It happens.

Maybe the New York AG is right.

  • Wombat

That lineup looks button mashed and absolutely looks like it was done by someone who just registered. What is the logic on using two PIT receivers without Landry Jones? Then he has the Steelers defense too with two WR, plus Ingram + Cooks from the Saints. Just negative correlations all over the place.

Given how bizarre this week was that is actually exactly the type of lineup I would think would be winning the milli.

Someone in one of my season long national contests started Big Ben this week against the team I am tied against for first place and beat him because of it. He’s still involved in the league (i.e. picking up players/setting weekly lineups). Not sure why he did it, but he obviously got extremely lucky. I agree with the previous posts… Anyone can win large tourneys… a few weeks ago (week 7), I saw a team near the top of the Milly Maker that started R. Tannehill, L. Miller, J. Landry, and R. Matthews. I don’t remember if they held on for the win or not, but I remember thinking, who would’ve thought of playing all of those guys together? I understand stacking a game, but there are usually diminishing returns with that many players on one team. But, in this case, Miami rolled and this guy’s team blew up.

it’s not highly unusual at all. He may have literally messed up by having 2 identical teams twice like that because he is so new and pressed the wrong buttons. But there is nothing here to complain about – you’re just Jealous, with a capital J. Randomly questioning the integrity of DFS isn’t helping anyone. A 100K tournament will never have obvious results – if it did, everyone would tie for 1st.

and 2 identical lineups, seemingly almost by accident, is not a “train”. If you want to see real trains, check out what bcalicore was doing in MLB this summer, he would have 3 or 4 trains of 5/6 identical lineups all finishing in the top 40 of large tourneys – now that’s a train!

You must be one of the players scared to death DFS will be banned and you might have to get a real job. I say that since you seem to want to make it personal. In none of my post did I questions the integrity , complain or even act remotely jealous. I play for fun, not a living. You are definitely one of the ones who gets butt hurt anytime anyone in these threads that bring something up that looks funny. So pump your brakes buddy cause you don’t know me enough to make it personal.

  • Mindgame247

How do we know this guy hasn’t played thousands of contests on other sites? Just because he’s new to FD doesn’t mean he’s new to DFS.

He’s not butt hurt but like me and many other true Dfs fans we are sick of posts like this one. You say you don’t care but then why are you posting stuff like this. Is it that hard to understand that almost every possible lineup is going to be covered in a Gpp of this size? If you even think it’s a possibility that these sites would change lineup’s after lock then quit playing Dfs and stop posting conspiracy theories on here.

  • L3gOnD

Yes, there are 100k plus lineups so Beasley will be picked in some and the reasons why are mentioned later in my first post.
Again you people not understanding the sheer number of entries and what that does is baffling to me. For whatever reason, every player will be picked by someone when having this many entries. Stop complaining.

there are a couple of dozen lawsuits floating around along with state AG inquiries. if all that discovery can’t get to the bottom of any funny business going on behind the scenes then nothing will.

if the FD username is an ode to tip and pick – he writes for football guys which is a mainly seasonal fantasy football site – could be an experienced seasonal player trying their hand at DFS and misclicked along the way. helluva misclick tho

Ha. I came on rotogrinders tonight because I was scratching my head too about a guy joined on Wed and took down the Fanduel Millions. I think its hilarious. Guy threw a bunch of darts in the air and they all hit bulls-eye. God bless him. This was a week where doing research probably hurt you.

i see a lot of newbs winning my contests in the $1 to $5 buy in range…..

A lot of people in these forums come across like whiny kids who blew their 30 bucks thinking they could win because they watch sportscenter

    Hundreds of thousands of entries

Funny. I saw this posted on another thread. Could someone actually ever think this one up?

TheFFOracle—A lineup on DraftKings that only used 71.8% of the salary cap would have a 44 point lead in the Millionaire Maker this week

    Kirk Cousins 31.96 $5,200
    Jeremy Langford 40.20 $4,800
    Charcandrick West 31.10 $4,800
    Michael Floyd 33.30 $3,800
    Martavis Bryant 31.80 $5,500
    Doug Baldwin 29.40 $3,400
    Zach Miller 30.70 $2,500
    Matt Jones 30.70 $3,300
    Chiefs 19.00 $2,600
    278.16 $35,900

    FanDuel isn’t out to get anyone. They are making $$$ hand over fist. My best lineups are the ones I say “ehhhh maybe this will work”. My first week on FD here was my line up;

    Bradford 15.44
    Hyde 31.2
    Miller 8
    Matthews 15.2
    Julio 30.6
    Andre 4.4
    Kelce 25.6
    McManus 18
    Jets D 17

    Total= 165.44

I created this line up based all on preseason hype. I didn’t stay up until the wee hours of the morning mulling over stats or taking advice from fantasy “gurus”. My buddy just talked me into playing on FD instead of DK. I did it, deposited around $65, winnings so far about $600. Every week I make a small profit or small loss. I have not had the luck I had week one where I played $20 and won $132. Now I over think things or get waaaay too cute. Just have fun guys. Stay true your strategy and the rset will come to you.

If I am not mistaken none of these companies are or ever been profitable.

They have been growing on venture capital investing and that’s why they needed to fuel the growth with zillion of unbearable ads.
Spend zillions in ads $ -> created high growth revenue rates -> get zillions in venture capital -> rinse and repeat

It’s the race to critical mass to go public (IPO), so that venture capitalists make a killing on their investment…. in many cases (not related to DFS) the scheme ends with the company never generating a penny in true profit.

Not one time in my post did I say I was angry or upset at this player for winning. Do I wish I had that much luck, sure I do. All my point was that it is highly unusual that a brand new player with no cashes runs trains and finished two of his trains in the top 10. If he had a horseshoe up his ass with some dart throwing lineups then good for him. Most of you guys on here get so fucking butt hurt if anyone even sniffs at a question on the integrity of DFS. If you read a little better, my post was more on wow this guy got lucky than oh my God I think someone is cheating. There’s an old say, “a hit dog will holler”.

    “this just doesn’t add up”

“my post was more on wow this guy got lucky than oh my God I think someone is cheating.”

    Hypocrite much?

    3) Brown and Bryant still have talent that allows them to burn coverage regardless of who is throwing to them. The Browns still are bad at football. Combine these two and you probably make value more often than not pairing the two.

You are missing seth’s point. He’s saying whoever this person is is definitely not some pro using an alias and multi accounting because a pro would never run 2 receivers from the same team and not play their QB.

Going by your analysis, if you know that 2 receivers on the same team will vastly exceed value and combine for 300 yards and 3 tds, what’s the first thing you would do, play their QB, no? It locks in 27 points as the floor for the QB with upside for much more.

I was helping a friend of mine(OVER THE PHONE) who was new to DFS and he entered the same LU twice and didn’t know how to back one out.. I told him to let it ride and he cashed x2.. Like alot have said.. 100k tournies have really wild LUs.. I may play 3-6 different and make SURE in large games I have a “WTF” LU in there.. and yes, I am one of the 99% that lose money in big tournaments !!! BUT, I still have fun doing it.. its either this or scratch offs

Are we sure the guy is a new player? They could of easily had help and or be a pro. There are way too many assumptions being made. We all know the way to win is to be contrarian and the lineup does that. There’s way to much emphasize on all these correlation plays and rules. Having this mindset can set you back. Its a good lineup, yall just jealous.

  • soonerdawg

lol…..none of ya’ll have tried a totally random method of picking a lineup??

I have…they didn’t work out, but if they had…..well, there would have been a thread about “that idiot” or a conspiracy thread like this one

I’m definitely not missing his point but my response wasn’t necessarily directed at him just the thread in general. I also think the overuse of “pro” is getting a bit old. There are people consistently good at DFS and those consistently bad at DFS; but neither are indicative of their status as a full-time DFS player.

That being said… There are reasons to have played Brown/Bryant without Landry. But the validity of those reasons would be based on your personal theory for roster construction.

If I am playing a $5-10 NLHE cash game and someone in early position leads out for $30 and someone repops it in mid position for $120… I am confident in my ability to range their hand. I have zero problems calling with 4/7 offsuit looking to out flop them. If the play holds up for me I am raking chips while being called every explitive in the book. If it doesn’t work out, I muck and lose $120 minimum. I can afford both outcomes as I am a firm believer in the David Stirling mantra “Who dares, wins.”
