Let me start by saying I AM NOT complaining. (By announcing that though, I will in fact be disappointed if a troll or two does not call me out for complaining.) I had my H2H NHL action scooped by two similar accounts tonight; hein_city and heinousking. Does anyone have any experience with either of these players? The usernames being similar (potentially to avoid game limits) and the lack of total wins on the accounts made me a bit curious. Scooping seems like something a veteran would do, not a new player.

*Do not comment with tin-hat nonsense please.

**I realize the above request will encourage tin-hat nonsense.

I’m trying to figure out how it took NHL H2H’s to get a thread created about this when Condia and 1ucror have been already doing this at the high stakes NBA games on FD and will likely push the limits as much as possible at the lower stakes this season as well.

They’ve scooped all my NBA H2H games 50$ or > a few times already this season.

Interesting. I guess it is how it is presented and the reality of the situation.

For example, call me Hankdia, and I only play CFB in notoriously high volume. My buddy, Cruzucor0r, only plays NFL in notoriously high volume. So, to increase volume for each of us beyond site limits, I give Cruzincror0r my CFB lineups, changing only the bottom feeder TE, or not, and he gives me his NFL lineups, changing only the bottom feeder defense, or not.

Fast forward. Now, Hankdia, a notoriously high volume CFB DFS player, becomes a notoriously high volume NFS DFS player this week. Similarly, Cruzincror0r, a notoriously high volume NFL DFS player, now becomes a high volume CFB DFS player.

Did each of us all of the sudden learn to play the new sport well in one week, when we obviously have the same, or close to the same, lineups? Are we effectively circumventing game limits by using someone else’s lineup in a sport we previously played very little? Is there a line? Is there a difference?

How did I miss this? This is actually a great thread considering, you may yell..Bingo!

You can believe what you want bro, I have my own account with my paypal, SIN# and my identity lol you cant duplicate that. And i dont even play enough matches per night to reach the maximum limit anyways

Fanduel, people like this is why you need matchup blocker. He sees nothing wrong with it. A new player getting 20 games taken by two players with similar names is not redepositing after losing. Unacceptable from both fanduel and this tool! The people that want to play head to head want variety. If they don’t they would put one in at 109 to save on rake.

+1, but fanduel has already stated they don’t care what we want. If it really bothers you then you need to email Fanduel and get everyone else emailing them. Otherwise take your action to dk which has the matchup blocker.

It truly is that easy. Just don’t create H2H’s on FD. A matchup blocker is the better solution. I personally think there is a less than savory explanation of why it is allowed to happen and why no blocker exists. I stick with 50/50’s of sufficient size such that it is not an issue. I would like someone to explain to me why they feel it absolutely necessary to create and post contests that open them up to these complaints

Since we are talking about win/loss records and I like a good conspiracy thread to provide an entertainment distraction…

How does the FanDuel gamer named alantrammell manage to constantly scoop up games yet only show a record of 72 NFL wins and 129 CFB wins, he got me for about a dozen wins last weekend so I was not particularly surprised when he grabbed up a whole game series I just posted, especially after my poor showing against him in our previous match ups.

However, what was surprising was when I went to look at his profile to see how many wins he had accrued since last week and his totals really hadn’t really increased.

    So this leaves two alternatives:

    1) He only plays me, since I am so good at donating (or maybe he plays others and loses, but all of those wins are against me since I am the only easy mark he has come across…which is in play)

    2) The win records on FanDuel are slow to update.

    3) Secret option three…which is of course what I am counting on Whits and Putz to uncover.

I’ll be back this afternoon with some popcorn!

    Yes, here is an explanation:

    1. H2H Auto match makes FD $$ from rake.
    2. Matchup blocker would reduce FDs rake for regular joins and auto match.
    3. Why would they cut their own revenue stream?

I noticed wins became inaccurate after they removed the leaderboards.

Theory: high volume guys are getting contacted by lawyers and others looking for $$ and asked for these features to be removed. It protects them by making their volume and ## of wins look lower, so people will take their H2Hs thinking they are noobs, and it makes it difficult for lawyers to estimate $$ won.

They limited how many contests their cash cow (condia) could join, instead of allowing him to keep joining every single game at every buy-in. Anything is possible

  • walterg55

Putz, All of these make sense from FD’s perspective, I agree. However it doesn’t explain to me why players create and post contests that allow them to be used. Am I missing a good reason why players feel compelled to create and post contests knowing that scooping etc is gonna be the result. Simply not creating an posting contests would cause FD enough pain to make some changes more likely.

  • jakeupjohnson

So I am assuming “scooping” refers to a skilled player coming in and taking all the contests (or a large number of said constests) that you put up for H2H thus nullifying you attempt to play many different people to spread your risk out. The assumption is that this skilled player will beat you more often than many different people would. I guess just don’t create H2H games or do and just take on these rich people like a true gangster..

But yeah they are heartlessly going against the “spirit” of the game, which goes right along with the spirit of capitalism. These players hold way more capital than you and can use that to push you around. Same goes for the person with the giant stack at the poker table, or the person that can sell a product at a loss until you go out of business then raise the price above what you were selling at to recoup the losses and start making money hand over fist.

We just have to get better and beat these people.

A site loses more and gains little by preventing this. Revenue is their bottom line. A few unhappy users will be replaced by new users who will become unhappy and stop posting H2H. Automatch, apparently, is a big enough revenue generator to prevent a matchup blocker from being developed. New users eventually learn their lesson.

FanDuel doesn’t force people to make 20, $5 matches. If Gabey wants to make a ton of matches and doesn’t want to choose an opponent then he might end up playing someone more than once. If he wanted to play seperate players he could choose to do so by selecting different matches in the head to head pool like most people do. Instead, he chose to put his name into the head to head pool, leaving him vulnerable to people playing against him more than once. It happens, its Fanduel, its gambling, its life haha Good luck tonight BTW Gabey!

so let me get this straight, this guy is a grinders live host, member here for several years and doesn’t realize if you post games on FD you could get big time scooped by sharp players (or really any) and comesin here to make a post about it when he is one of the “faces” of the industry.

Gotta love it, just unreal really… Fish gonna fish. GL Hein_city, look forward to hearing the results, sounds like you are in pretty good shape in this spot given the content of the thread
