If anyone can help me understand why I was not paid. I placed a bet on the 60 minute line on the predators. The game was tied after regulation. Which I understood should be a push, but instead I lost the bet. After contacting Draftkings (in it of itself a big hassle I waited over an hour on the chat all while being the first in the queue etc.) and after speaking live to a supervisor he told me that since there was an option to bet the the game to be a tie I therefore lose the bet and only in sports where there is no option to bet the tie directly will a tie be a push. There are 2 things I don’t get. first off, if in fact when betting the predators to win the only way I can win the bet is for them to win by a point the bet should be listed as predators minus .5 since they must win by at least half a point for me to win. Having the bet listed as predators straight up is misleading. Secondly the fact that I could have bet the tie and if that is the outcome I would actually make money by winning the bet is not an explanation why when betting one team and its tied it is not a push. After going in circles with the rep for some time i left off. I also reminded him that i am a good return customer and I bet on average,$1500-$2000 a week all to no avail. Any help or clarification would be appreciated.

On the main NHL page the last column is money line, it states including OT. If you choose the 60 min tab, then this does not include OT and shows a tie option. You will notice teams have different odds because of this. But on the first game line page it clearly states money line including OT.

i am aware of all that. but how does that explain anything. as i stated i bet the 60 mins line i am aware i can make other bets including overtime. that does not explain my post.

This is an extremely common type of bet in hockey and soccer betting. It’s a three way bet, the possible outcomes are the Visiting Team, Tie, and Home Team. There’s no option to push, as one of the three outcomes will occur.

As others have said this is a 3 way bet so it is impossible to have a push as one of the 3 options will be a winner. You usually get better odds betting the win this way vs. a straight money line with OT but the risk is that if the games goes into OT you lose.

I am surprised if you really bet $2000 a week that you don’t understand how a 3 way bet works unless your brand new to NHL betting.

An easy way to think about why a push on your bet wouldn’t make sense is knowing that ties after regulation in NHL are common. So if a sportsbook offered you to be the win, loss, or tie for the 60 minute period and always pushed the win and loss bets while paying out the ties they would be guaranteed to lose money every single night and wouldn’t be in business.

You just said that you bet the 60 minute line, and as I explained in the 60 minute line there is a bet for a tie. So if a game goes to overtime, then your team did not win in the 60 minute line, the winning option is obviously a tie. So there is no push, because there was a winning option available to you. I don’t know what the confusion is. As Draft kings rep has told you, as I told you, and if you look at any hockey game on the sports book there is an option for a tie in the 60 minute game section therefore there can be no push.

Betting the puck line is not the only way to bet a Predators win, you have to bet the money line for the whole game, not for 60 mins. Its not really draft kings fault that you don’t know what you are betting.

for someone who says they have been doing this for a while and claims to spend at least $1500 a week, you should know the rules.

I didn’t say I have been doing this awhile I only started recently when NJ opened up sportsbetting, secondly I don’t often bet on nhl. thanks for explaining why the bets are scored that way. although I still don’t get why it is not listed as i.e. predators -.5 if they must score for me to win.

Again, you are looking in the wrong spot. When you open the sports book and select NHL. It is going to tell you Puck Like 60 MINS….. Total Goals 60 MINS… Money line INCLUDING OT and SHOOT OUT. As it states the first 2 are only first 60 MINS, the money line is for the whole game. THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT.

There is also another section just below the game lines, where you can look at alternate puck lines 60 mins, and alternate total goals 60 mins… and then a a tab just labeled 60 mins. THIS is where you made your bet, this is where it list both teams plus the tie option. It sounds to me like this is not where you want to be. So just make sure Game Lines/Game section. You will clearly see the money line state includes OT. This is the bet that you are describing.

They don’t list it that way as it makes sense to 98% of sports betters.. If you have 3 options of a Win, Loss, or Tie at the end of 60 minutes only one of those 3 bets can win. So it is a given that if you bet the win they must score at least 1 more goal than the opposing team as no team in the history of the NHL has been credited with a win after ending regulation time tied.

My advice would bet to really understand the rules of what your betting and know what a winning wager looks like. Especially if your really spending $1500-$2000 a week

o.k. then thanks for the clarification. just to be clear i am not pumping in 2K a week of new money per week but I am betting that amount per week, being that over time I am ahead I don’t have to put in new capitol. iIjust usually bet nfl or nba. I definitely will be more careful on new areas going forward though
