Yesterday while traveling I accessed draftkings on my laptop in the car while using a hotspot on my phone. Later that night my contests were withdrawn from and I received this message

“We are writing to let you know that our geolocation system has identified that you have accessed the site from different geographical locations over a short time period. Due to this behavior being inconsistent with the ‘one user, one account’ policy, your account has been restricted. DraftKings has a ‘one user, one account’ policy that limits account access to one person.

We have reviewed your account geolocation logs that indicate account access from different geographical regions over a short time period:”

Has anyone ever run into a problem like this? I continue to explain to them that I was traveling and they are being extremely unhelpful and insist I admit wrongdoing. I’ve asked twice to speak to someone over the phone and continue to have that question ignored. Seems like another one of the seemingly endless issues draftkings has. If any one can help at all it would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t have any advice, but I am always amazed by these stories.

I mean, how do the sites not realize that in 2017, people move quickly around the globe? It’s completely plausible to be in like 8-10 states within a 24-hour period. Not an everyday occurrence, but not unique, either. So if you’re on a road trip from New York to LA, you get banned from playing?

What state is your “home” state and where were you when you accessed your account from your phone? That will answer it right there.

Plain and simple if your lineups are set you should be fine. But as you said ‘Travelling” If you set those lineups while doing so in a state that doesn’t support DFS they have every right as a lot of states are trying to regulate it. So even if Travelling they track your ‘Name’ and ask for location, so that tells all

    Kind of disturbing

cant you send them a plane ticket or receipt or card statement for something that proves to them that you used your credit card at that location. the credit card receipt should have the last 4 of your card number so you should be able to prove that it was you at each location and not you and someone else.

When they say “short period of time” they’re talking about seconds or minutes. So if you sign in from New York and then 5 minutes later sign in from Florida, its definitely going to look like multiple people are using the same account.

You can not enter a new lineup from a banned state. You can however edit a lineup. I live in Texas but a short drive from Louisiana which is a banned state. I go to my parents house in Louisiana all the time (today included). Never had an issue editing lineups.
