    COURSE:
PGA National (Champion), 7,140 yards, par 70. Now beginning its second decade as the Florida Swing’s kickoff venue, the original George & Tom Fazio layout was site of the 1983 Ryder Cup where Lanny Wadkins’ birdie at No. 18 vs. Jose Maria Canizares thwarted European upset hopes. The Champ also staged the 1987 PGA Championship, won by Larry Nelson, before Jack Nicklaus was brought in for a 1990 redesign that gave golfers the treacherous “Bear Trap” of Nos. 15, 16 and 17. The course also staged 19 Senior PGA Championships through 2000, going on competitive hiatus until the Honda arrived in 2007.

    LAST YEAR:
Scott outdueled Garcia down PGA National’s back nine, claiming a one-stroke victory that ended a two-year win drought.

    FIELD WATCH:
Justin Thomas, a three-time winner in 2016-17, and defending champ Adam Scott headline a deep lineup that features 12 of the top 25 in the current rankings. Scott, Thomas and No. 9 Sergio Garcia are among the world’s top 10. … Reigning Masters champion Danny Willett makes his first U.S. visit since the Ryder Cup.

Wow just read that cause the weather the euro event is only gonna be a 54 hole event. Weak!!!!!! Had a 6/6 and a 5/6. The extra day woulda helped me so much. Sigh

Yea I did say not top 1000. And it would be impossible for a 5/6 to top 10 with a 150k pool. You would need like #1 and then 4 way tie for #2 golfer and have nailed those 5. Am I thinking about it wrong? Anyone been doing this long enough that has an answer?

It is possible – I had a 4/6 at this very event last year that would have finished 2nd or 3rd in the birdie if I would have rostered Justin Thomas and gotten a 5/6 (last years event was VERY different – low scoring and Adam Scott, Sergio, and JT ran away with the event). I had a T3 from .17% owned Blayne Barber, Adam Scott (1st), McGirt (8th), someone I can’t remember who was T-20, and 2 MC. If I would have had JT (who I could afford) instead of one of the MC, would have had top 3.

You need some combination of most-to-all of the following:

    - 1-5% 6/6 rate (most important)

    - low overall average scoring rate (so those 2 extra rounds aren’t worth much)

    - scoring concentrated in 3-10 players, and you have 3-5 of them rostered

    - a key player or two (best value / winner / top scorer in a salary range) are low owned and you have them

    - your MC has 10+ pts more than other MC (from hole-in-one or a ton of birdies / multiple eagles)

It’s something that is possible 1-2 times a season but doesn’t happen (you can top 3 a 5-20K entry tournament with 5/6; it’s happened a couple times in EURO when 6/6 was 2-3%) because too many things have to hit. Definitely possible though.

Yeah I can’t believe it – finally get a monster 6/6 in Euro (on a 20% 6/6 week too, bah) and the tournament goes to 54 holes. The same thing happened to me last year at the Zurich – I had multiple Day/An/Lovemark 6/6 combos but ran out of time to catch the leaders with the 54 hole thing.

    Yeah im pretty bummed about it as well. 4/10 – 6/6 & 4/10 – 5/6.
I have some nice low ownership in Paul Peterson & Paul Maddy.

Paul Peterson has got to be one of the streakiest golfers I have ever seen. He is either really hot or really bad. I think he has gone like 8 or 9 under 4 or 5 times in the last year or 2

Man, for some reason I’ve gotten a lot done this weekend. Must be because I’ve been out of it in dfs. LOL.

Btw, Hacksaw Ridge and Moonlight are both fantastic. Arrival is on deck for this evening after I grill some nice steaks.

Watching both on Tuesday (don’t spoil it) /arrival REALLY good. Lion IMO will wi the best pic (before seeing the other two of course)

    Where is whodat ???

I was expecting his post tourney report by now; I was hoping he broke 85 but since we haven’t heard yet I’m dropping my expectations to a 91-92 which means he probably got negative fantasy points too.

That’s probably a good thing because if he beat Grace’s 2.5 points before WD’ing I’d be really pissed !!

OMG long effing day, and anyone who bet the over on my 12 handicap never even had to sweat. When they totaled my card to a 92, I was really happy, because I felt it was much worse. Let me tell you….. HARD course, 39 degrees, 30 MPH winds = no fun lol :)

I did have one hole where I nutted a drive to 89 yards to the pin…. chunked the second shot into the front bunker and all I could hear was Panthers: This guy is supposed to be a pro???????? LOL

While I’m drinking lol.. Curious….. what might the interest be n a RG PGA forum golf weekend gathering?

anyone know how the a4u70 bonus works with 54 holes?

  • einars

Hoping to have a sweat today. at 450.5 with steel and harman (esp harman) dragging me down a bit. if Harman and steele can have a good round and sergio and byran can falter a bit i think have a decent chance.

    team is

    fowler
    lahiri
    hatton
    o’hair
    harman
    steele

I’m pretty sure they have to play 4 rounds for that bonus to apply.

I would worry about Lahiri, O’hair, and for sure Harman. Lahiri was hitting really bad shots yesterday. Good luck! Nice job getting Rickie and Hatton.

harman is lowest owned of the group so if he bounces back that will really help.if lahiri or o’hair can seperate from the pack and fowler and hatton stay up top that would help also. whole heck of a lot of ifs lol :D really, i am just hoping to have a legit sweat currently 27th in the birdie and leading the $12 SE (albatross). If we just ended after three rounds i would be ok with it :D

What time do they start this morning? Not seeing an update on the leaderboard.
