A bit on the wet and windy side in H-Town, let’s break it down day by day…

    Thursday – Dry, increasing winds
AM – Morning winds will start around 5mph, gradually increasing to 10mph sustained by the late AM.
PM – Fairly typical stuff here, afternoon winds holding a bit over 10mph sustained. Not ideal, but manageable.

    Friday – Front moves in.
AM – All indications are that wind will be light early Friday AM, but will likely be picking up late AM (15mph sustained, gusts over 20). There’s also a chance for scattered showers and storms with the FROPA (that’s weather-need for “frontal passage”), so a delay is possible in the AM.
PM – Winds behind the front will remain gusty through the afternoon, likely 15mph sustained with stronger gusts. Rain possible early afternoon, depending on the timing of the aforementioned “FROPA”.

Sat & Sun – Nice weather through the weekend.

Overall – Goal is always to minimize max winds, and I think the best chance to do that is by picking early golfers on Friday. Still a chance a delay pushes them in to peak winds, which would be a problem, so it’s not a stone cold lock, but that’s the route I would go.

    Happy Grinding,
    Kevin
