I like to see people making money to inspire me to keep trying.. So far sadly I am in the hole about $250-300..

Post how much you’re up and what you do (Cash/GPP)

Post pictures of some winnings if you want to :) I love seeing that stuff.

Also what site do you get your information from? RG,FC,FL ect.

Sorry if this is the wrong section!

Yep! Since I ended up with 7, I have 7 bullets at the top prize and it gives you a chance to take some risks where you normally wouldn’t since you are already guaranteed $5/entry and possibly give your bankroll a boost if things go your way.

Spent around 60k to win 90k on DK last year. Lost 3k on Fanduel :/ Had a hell of a summer in MLB last year, 20k one week, 10k the next, and some 1-5k wins sprinkled in there. My first win in DFS was the $2 Shot on FanDuel for like 2 grand and I made it a goal to win one in every major sport and I did it (replace NHL with PGA) lol. That one in NBA, then an NFL $2 GPP, a $27 PGA, and multiple in MLB. Paid off tuition, debt, credit cards, got a new car. I’m glad it’s baseball season again!

Deposited $20 and won $550 so far playing mostly NFL and NBA in low stakes GPP’s and some 50/50’s on FD. Not so bad for profit.

NBA late season is tough. If you were only winning 60% of the time earlier in the season in cash games it likely will be lower. A guy winning 60% earlier on may only be a breakeven player.

I’ll share my situation since it’s probably one that puts me in the minority….

I deposited $25 on DK just about a year ago and currently have $140 there.
I’ve played pretty much all sports in that time. Primarily $1 and .25 GPP games, and I don’t think I’ve ever won much more than $10 at most (winning a .25 league) in any tournament.
So pretty much the definition of “grinding”.

Started on FanDuel. Lost my first few buy-ins. Maybe $75 or so, but that was probably over a year…again playing a $1-2 in Gpp’s every night.
Last $25 deposit during NFL has turned into probably close to $400. Had high’s of $100 and $40 won, and just have consistently been doing well on the site. I’ve also opened things up as I’ve made more money, trying to spend close to 5% a night and playing cash as well.

I feel that has put me in a weird place though. I have always been fine playing the couple bucks for fun, winning enough to keep playing and knowing I always have the chance to really get something big…but I also can’t help but think, to play the way I have and actually be profitable means I’m pretty good and may be wasting an opportunity by not trying to do more.
Especially since I try to avoid DFS opinion pieces at all cost, and each night is pretty much me looking at everything as a puzzle and calculating it all in my own head.

For the time being I’ll likely still play between 2-5% a night which keeps it low pressure and hopefully it will continue to grow and that’ll be how I expand my play.
And who knows…maybe I’ll be lucky and finally hit something big which will allow me to play more…which seems to be the story for many.

I spent $30 on about 20 different lineups last night and broke even. I had all the players that did well just not all in one lineup unfortunately and then I had guys that killed my lineups by getting 0 points and 3-6 points. I’m going to give it another go today except with a bit of a different strategy when making the lineups

  • Hubert115

Lost $10 yesterday. I made $1 from MLB but lost money in NHL because I picked luongo and niemi which both lost :(. I would have won if I picked a winning goalie

Contest winnings on FD put me at 46k but I’ve dropped close to 10k-15k (mostly on live Q’s with no returns) to get there. Most losses where sustained when I first started. Been profitable on DK but play minimal stakes, so up about 1k.

Most normal humans would gag at the amount I played in NBA-MLB with my own money in the beginning but I have a day job which kept me from cringing on the weeks I ran bad.

I would say now, DFS is a profitable venture, but it took a while.

I still haven’t had a major break or gotten in a live final yet but I like sports and I’ll be a GPP fish till I get there, and I don’t care who knows it

To update my early post, I’m down like $900 since September playing multiple sports. It could be a lot worse I know. That’s on about $4000 in entry fees. All on DK.

I finished in top 100 in a big MLB GPP Saturday. You have to stick with it. When I read stories about guys losing 5 figures or 6 figures, I feel better about my losses.

I am mainly a GPP player with some 50/50…also I am a lover of qualifiers. I have had a great career on Draftkings so far… Although I have never taken down a major GPP but have come close…I did win a seat to the WSOP last year for 3$ and ended up finishing in 394 place there and chasing for 25K…since then I have made a good profit and today finally won one I wanted to..I took down 1st and 8th in the Caddy for the Cure contest. Since joining 4 years ago I have be a profitable player!

  • Rsmith11

I’m down about $150 playing $5-10 a day on mostly GPPs. Biggest win was $75 and that’s over a whole year.

Over the last NHL season turned a $25 deposit into about $5000 cash and trips to each of the NHL stadium series games this year expenses paid. I am purely a NHL GPP player and nothing else, until MLB started.

Being from Colorado and going to Colorado State, I have had the opportunity to meet and have talks with Peter Jennings, (CSURAM88) regarding my (lower end) success and transferring NHL strategy into MLB. Being able to talk strategy on a personal level with such a respected player in the industry has given me a lot of insight and confidence coming into the season. Since playing MLB I have been a break even player in both cash and GPP games. I have put a lot of thought into the industry’s direction and what I have noticed going on and I am worried to say the least. I personally have noticed lower EV in all sports I play, (including my beloved NHL by the end of the season) and don’t think I am the only one noticing this. I am starting to see consistent success only in players hitting the occasional low entry fee GPP, as cash games are dried out and high stakes players are breaking even among themselves and losing to the rake.

Finally, what scares me the most is the vast majority of high-end models, projections, and information are available to even the most casual players, which of course diminishes the edge for the (previously) moderate-advanced players who have spent more time on research. The diminishment of this edge will discourage many previously profitable players from continuing their process (unfortunately including players like myself) and leaving the sharks and sharks alone to run the site, in which they will quit as there are no fish to prey on.

Along with all this, becoming illegal in more and more states monthly is decreasing the player base quickly as well.

These are just my thoughts and opinions and I would love to hear what you all agree/disagree with me on.

Blew through about 10k-15k, blowing through 30k wouldn’t be a great feel, but I would probably do it because I’m a fish

I’ve been playing a year and a half and won just under 30k between FD and DK. Most of the winnings from MLB gpp’s but have won a little something in most of the dfs sports.

  • BigRay

This is my 4th yr playing. I started on FD but mostly play on DK now. I only played baseball until this year. I put in $500 on year one was done by June. Year two I put in $250 and played all season. Year 3 I put in $100 and won $500 bucks taking 2nd on a freeroll. Cashed out $300 and have been playing on that since. I have between $30 and $200 on my Account at any given time depending on streaks. I played nba for the first time this year and loved it. I think it will help me on baseball this year because of the difference in line up building between the 2 sports. I also found rotogrinders in year 3. The research tools are great. The articles really help out if you are new to the game. I still read them to make sure I am not missing anything. However, don’t forget a lot of these articles get read here and on other sites. So if you think you have a smart play you read about and he will be underownrd think again. Just think about jerebko last yesterday at over 50% owned. The best thing I can say is look who to leave out of your lineups not who to put in. That has been the difference for me
