I usually do an hour of research which is probaby why I finish in the middle of the pack every night. So I wanted to know what the usual norm is?

Amount of time “researching” is meaningless. HOW and WHAT you research is far more important. Thats what seperates good players and middle of the pack players. Good Luck

About the same amount, but i follow the games very closely at night which is really part of the research for future slates. i generally dont need to go and look up how rotations and minutes have been playing out because i have been seeing it unfold each night.

Do you watch highlights or the whole game?

I mean it does help the full timers a bit more that they can literally sit and research and absorb news all day. But yeah I definitely agree its how you use your time that matters.

I can do it with less than 15 min of research per day, but that’s just me.

i wouldnt say to completely throw darts but…..the more research, podcasts, article reading I do, the worse my lineup is!

it’s hit and miss i like to use land of basketball stats and lately seems like i am just missing the more i research the worse i do i

i spend a few hours a day when i have the time

So many instances this season where averages/indexes are wrong by 30,40 % low or high. Particularly basketball. Same matchups miss badly when compared to heavy sample size. Should be able to identify out of process factors w/control charting to i.d. some blowouts.

What do you believe is the critical info for the different slates u play. Other than the obvious, certainly you’re concerned w/late swaps or minutes in basketball what do you deem gets the most weighting….matchups in bball , time on ice in hockey? I agree it shouldn’t be a laborious task. I ‘d like to develop a repeatable process for cash games . I’m not looking instant gratification, but it’s time for a change. The payback on time invested doesn’t give me a warm fuzzy feeling I’m going the right direction. Give us novices a feel of your thought process when you look at a cash game. Pick any venue. Thanks in advance.
