I have been a poker pro for the last 5 years and have only dabbled in DFS for a week or so, and its scary how DFS seems to be playing out just how poker did, It is hard to explain but when I read the DFS forums it reminds me of how the poker forums use to sound like.

So I am here to tell you the future of DFS

If you think its hard now think again DFS is still in its early stages, You will look back at this time and wished that you put more hours in the game if your a winner. There are still people that don’t have a clue what they are doing

The rakes will increase and will make the games harder to beat
The pros that have coaching videos are making the games harder and harder to the point where 90% of rec players will know how not to be bad and they will be challenging to beat after the rake even the coaching videos are still not that good

The most successful pros at DFS bar one or two will most likely will not be around in 2- 5 years because they can not win no more.

Young people everywhere will see that some random non pro with a cool name win some big money and there will be 1000s of them thinking they can do the same.

The forums get exciting again those young people making money are happy to shout about how good they are, share strategy and sharing pics of stuff they bought with their winnings.

Egos becomes bigger then ever and the young players will start to play each other, this will create super high stake action were people will long in just to see who won the 1 million head up battle. From the battles only a hand full of the 1000s of people will survive period and the people that has watch the players stories and this will start a new fanboy culture.

The emergence of new software and quantum computers that makes the software you have now feel like an abacus. This will make the games even harder then it already was, people will start to claim that the game is solved.

All the top pros will stop playing each other and claim that there is not much of an edge playing someone equally good.

Some young player comes from nowhere and starts crushing the top pros,(we will call him isildur1) they will all play isildur1 because they wont respect his game, before you know it the DUrrr player that you lookup to, that has dominated for the past few years almost goes broke by playing this unknown player called isildur1.

isildur1 has now proved that the pros were wrong about the game being close to being solved, and now the pros remaining are starting to rethink the game. With the new versions of the already amazing software the pros start really incorporate game theory to every selection and game and really do their best to try to actually solve DFS. This is the beginning of the end, one player will create a dream machine, they will type a problem into this dream machine and it will spit out a winning team most of the time.

Someone creates a bot that can beat any human player.

Oh I forgot to add that the US government will close down some sites, please do not think you will get your money instantly, it will take 2 months to 5 years to get your money back or you might never get it. If you live in the US you will need to move overseas to continue to play DFS.

MY one advice is Don’t be results orientated

    See you in the future

I do think DFS is trending downwards atm, but hopefully it can recover. I’m very curious to see how much they advertise, if at all, during this upcoming football season.

Your trying to hard….. you are way off on so many topics cause your comparing illegal online poker to legal DFS. They already have programs that do all the numbers and some of the top dogs are all ready multi accounting.

Yes I know this, It the programs are just going to be come way better, the person using the software will become better and people will multi account will be almost impossible to catch.

Its my first post the trying to hard bit got the desired affect.

I too was an early online poker player and see DFS following the same legal path at the moment. Other than that…WTF did you just say?

Warning people, take it how will

  • Jellydragon

It will happen very quickly, thats the answer and it will keep happening until the games become so hard that the only way to make money is to either put huge volume, play high stakes (win rates is lower vs other pros but if you can find a way to be a winner then the money you win will be enough for you to still make a good living in) or you can move or already live in a country where one only need to make $500- $1000 a month to live there.

Mindgame247 I have the best bit of advise for you, and you need to listen carefully, I notice that you mainly play mbl with some golf mixed in, while its very important to be super good and specialized in one area the people that ultimately survive are able to play mixed games (see what I did poker players lol) because the good news is there are may more sports that DFS will add over the years and there is super value to be had, imagine playing all the Indians that just want to gamble when one site adds Cricket or the Australians in rugby, their biggest flaw is they would have their favorite players and no matter what will always pick him. There will not be much of an edge very soon playing heads up, and once you become one of the best in the world and crush WTF would play you. Playing other games will allow you to get more action when it eventually drys up.

I didn’t finish reading everything you wrote but DFS is absolutely going down the same path as poker. Rewards continue to get cut, rake is trending upwards, games are getting tougher, good information is cheap. Sites are forcing players into double ups instead of 50/50s with a higher rake, they want to limit/lower top player ROI’s, reload bonuses are a thing of the past. Everything is trending in the same direction of online poker and if you don’t see it or understand and didn’t play poker from the early days then you wouldn’t know the similarities.

Everything that AmayaStars(Pokerstars) has done to kill off regulars/pros from playing and winning on their site is exactly what Fanduel and Draftkings are starting to do now. They want the edge to be as small as possible but if they keep having contests be as top heavy as they are now I fail to see how even pros will find an edge. Variance in DFS is very high in GPP’s with massive fields. I wouldn’t be surprised if H2H games are gone soon too because it’s simply sharks swallowing the fish.

Small change is always happening, big change will normally happen once they have moved in to most of the markets. To start stopping HU(H2H but fuck adding that extra digit) games in the near future wont happen, once they add all the sports they can and moved in to all the the countries then the big changes will happen, and also watch out for new ceos or owners, they will not come in and let thing continue how they were.

Poker and DFS are different animals. Online gambling is currently illegal whereas some states are accepting
DFS as a legit. entity. The most advanced computers may be able to solve all the variables but not one
will ever know if a player goes down in the first quarter,a game goes into OT or extra innings etc.The human
element and competitive aspect of sports can be quantified only up to a point.

Keep dreaming, DFS is am much gambling as poker is. Online poker is actually allowed to be played in at least 3 states in the US.
The fact a game goes into OT or some one gets injured is akin to a bad beat, it happens and its something that you can not control all one can do is try to do the correct thing in as many spots as you can (don’t be results orientated). The people using the advanced computers/bots or the skillful players will end up on top and in that way Poker and DFS is similar. (i think the a legit winning poker player with almost no knowledge in sports can walk in to DFS and crush)

So there should always be a consistent influx of newbies and amateurs, at least in theory.

Yes nice theory, and they will!! but they will also come into a market place where the skill difference is bigger than if they started a year or two ago, so unless they get have a unlimited roll, get help from a coach or sign up to training vids they will go bust quicker then the fish of old. Unless your they are a luck box

Here is a theory (not mine) when people play something and they dont win straight away they will most likely just put the game down cause its no fun. Unlike me of course when i first played poker i was a big loser and that made me mad and want to learn.

Sounds like you took a bad beating in poker from a newbie and needs to cry about it. DFS is not the same and just because you play poker OK does not mean you will be successful at this. 1 week of DFS and somehow it’s playing out like poker. After playing for just 6 months I have learned what games to play and when. I have invested very little money and win and lose games everyday. I practice most in the quarter arcades and do pretty well. I just started H2H games. Sometimes I win and sometimes Ilose. I get about 30 minutes per day to research players and thanks to this website average over 140 pts per match up. Computer generated software?, pass. All I need is RotoGrinders and Notorious to keep my head above water and I’m sure at some point I’ll hit for a descent amount. Not sure I could ever cash at a WSOP event. Do the research you can, keep trying new things, find what works and what does not. There is more than enough free content on this site to help you make money everyday. Stay off the forums, most people on there are the ones who expect to win everyday just by setting a lineup. Good luck with your DFS.

You sound like a nice person, thanks for the judgement, but i mas tables 8 to 24 tables few bad beats simply don’t affect me, I came on here and Posted because i wanted to let everyone know that for me anyway i feel that DFS future will play out like pokers history cause i see the patterns If anyone actually played poker for a while they would know that im speaking the truth, yes the time line and stories in my op is a bit off, its ov two different games and i know im in my first week.
