So. I’ll admit from the beginning, i didnt know the rules. I had deposited into DK a few times and lost. My mom came but for a visit and asked what i wanted for a my BDay. I said she could deposit from her Paypal to my draftkings account. I think she did so once maybe twice for no more than 20$ total. I lost that. 2 or 3 months later i decided to go back in and deposit with my own paypal. I’ve won some money. I wanted to try to withdraw some of it. I sent an email cause i needed the other withdraw methods gone so it went to my paypal. Mind you i wasnt even thinking about the problem DK might have with this. I literally had no idea. I get an email from DK banning my account . They gave me a list of things i need to provide. My ID, my utility bill with my address a good reason as to why this happened.. .and my moms ID. I gave everything i could give but i could not give my moms ID. I have no access to this now. Nor will she be willing to give it. I’ve emailed them about this a lot. They refuse to unban my account. I have money in this account. I’m currently winning some PGA tournaments on this account. I’ve offered everything i can offer. I’m a good paying customer. I’ve lost about 500+ to them already. I know i made a mistake, but this mistake seems pretty small considering i can offer tons of utility bills and two forms of id claiming i am me. Yet they wont unban me.

So i ask. What can I do? Am i just screwed here?

    - Tell your mom you are winning some money – have her scan her id – ? (send scan to DK)?
    -Profit?

  • Zieg30

The issue is clearly not who you are, but whose paypal account you used and how you came to use it. That can only be cleared up by your mom, if it was your mom’s account. I would guess that your account will remain suspended until you are able to provide adequate substantiation for that part of your account history.

  • ShawnIndy

She does not want to give her ID for anything. This was such a small infraction imo. But maybe i’m not seeing it.

  • ShawnIndy

I’ve offered two forms of ID. My ssn. Several pieces of mail to confirm who I am. How much does it take? This is a bit overkill in my opinion.

  • ShawnIndy

Ive offered mail that has her name and address that is the same as mine on it.

At some point this is just taking advantage in my opinion. I get it. I slipped up. I didnt know. I didnt do it with bad intent. I’m more than willing to give everything i can give. But to hold me up on her ID is pretty ridiculous.

  • ShawnIndy

All i’ve been getting is automatic replies. I just sent this last email. I dont expect anything and that is sad. Like i said. Honest mistake. Dont know what else to do. My hands seem tied here. They get to keep my winnings i suppose. But whatever.

“If i cant get you my moms ID. And i stay banned. I assume I cant make another account because my IP would match the banned account and then we just do this again. What purpose does this serve? I’ve given you a lot of proof that i am who i am. “

I personally would try to reach out to @JasonDRobins for some help!

    “ Hi Shawn,

Again, I apologize for the continued inconvenience. By inputting a payment method to participate in real money contests, you are affirming that you, the Authorized Account Holder, are the lawful owner of the payment method and account used to make any deposit(s) on DraftKings. Unfortunately, it is against DraftKings’ terms of use to have multiple individuals fund one account.

It is also against our terms of use for users to have more than one account. We appreciate your cooperation. If you have other questions, please let us know.

    Best,

    Hunter

    Senior Customer Experience Associate
    DraftKings Inc.”

Lots of auto replies no real customer support.

Just seems like terrible business to shit on someone who’s made over 500$+ in deposits. I get that its in the terms of use, but i feel like some common sense needs to come in play here.

It’s not ridiculous at all. They’ve told you what you need to send them and you haven’t done it. The only one holding you up is you/your mom.

I get it’s frustrating, but DK isn’t wrong here. You give them your mom’s ID, explain to them what happened, and there’s a 99% chance you’re unbanned.

  • depalma13

Until you give them you’re mother’s ID, you will be banned. You have to prove you are not stealing from someone’s Paypal account.

Look at it this way. Imagine someone manages to hack into your DK account and wants to withdraw the money into their PayPal account. What would you be saying if DK allowed it without needing any identification or proof from the person who originally had the funds?

Personally, If I were DK I would never have accepted the deposit in the first place from a different PayPal account without proper identification.

Simple solution here. Provide your mother’s ID. Little weird that so far she/you can’t provide it, especially with money on the line.

  • kellykip

In the OP you said your mom came for a visit. But In a post a little further down you said you offered to give them mail from your mother with her name and address that has the same address as yours.

I’m a little confused by that.

Also if you’ve already explained to them the story that she was visiting you for your birthday, I’d very strongly suggest not offering the mail with the same address.

  • krazyju84

In the past, without knowing I would be violating the terms, I have deposited on Fanduel using different PayPal accounts and I never had issue withdrawing. Maybe I got lucky? But if Fanduel requested documents from me as DraftKings are from you, I wouldn’t have an issue providing them. It’s your mistake so you need to make it right by complying with their request, not bashing them for your mistake.

You can’t blame Draftkings for this issue since using two Paypal accounts for 1 account is a violation of their terms of use since to them it makes it look like two people sharing 1 Draftings account. Too late now but the smart thing to do would have been to transfer money from your mom’s Paypal account to your own so you could make the deposit yourself and Paypal allows free transfers between accounts for friends and family. The only way to resolve this issue is going to be provide the ID of the 2nd Paypal account used to back up your story so I don’t think Draftkings is out of line on this one requiring that.

    Shady

Also you said she came for a visit

Few posts later you said you provided documents showing both your names at the same address.

  • Rachelynn51912

I have a feeling OP mom isn’t aware of these deposits… just my opinion though

  • mwgdfs

    my mom LOL

  • tarheel66

Not an honest mistake IMO, players need to read and understand the rules

  • ShawnIndy

My mom used to live with me. I have leftover mail from when she lived with me. Stuff that was in her name. Stuff i would not actually open but can take a pic of that shows her name and my address. She did come to visit. She did ask me what i wanted for my birthday and i passively said just put money in my DK account without even thinking about it at all. Thats my fault. I have not stolen from my mom. That is ridiculous assumption to make. I’m sorry i didnt know invoking the word “ mom “ would bring out such a broad opinion of me.

I’ve since worked with DK on this issue. I recovered the money in my account, but can not play until i provide her ID. It’s a bummer.

  • ShawnIndy

Also just want to add. I came here for help and opinions on what to do. I was honest. I’m sorry you dont know me or my moms situation. I’m sorry you dont believe me. But it really sucks to come here thinking i could get some guidance with the situation and instead get shit on. Probably not what this board should be, but whatever. I’m sorry i posted. Thanks.

  • ShawnIndy

One last thing. Nothing but great dealings with DK right now. They have been understanding. They are working with me. The customer support is better than most i’ve ever dealt with.

  • AntFer

This whole thing is very shady…I would never let this kid play on any site…
