OK OK, I know everyone does but really how can I maximize this website to help me win some $$. I’ve done the lineup builder in this free version of RotoGrinders but I doubt that’s really giving me the best lineup to win. I’m not even sure I’m using it correctly between the number of unique players, max exposure, flex settings. I’m looking to be up at the top of tournament play in Draftkings..just to be close to winning some $$ would be GREAT.
Any help to really get started would be great, this website has a TON of info to look over. its incredible.

There is no easy money. It’s all highly competitive. I’d start with single entry games. You might even want to play free games for a while. That’s what I did when I got started

    This thread is unbelievably cringe-worthy

100 man contests 3 to 5 entries per contest. Take advantage of the beginner contests. Learn how to build lineups and watch the games. Read the free articles and take advantage of all of the free content on this sight. Study winning lineups and try to disect why people did what they did. Most importantly ask questions and watch the games. DFS is fun and DFS football is the best.

If you’re not familiar with the concept of overlay, read about it and seek it out in the Beginner contests. You can easily find underfilled $1-to-$3 contests that are open only to beginners on FanDuel and DK which will help you build bankroll while you learn some techniques for building lineups. Take advantage while you can, because these contests offer better odds than you’ll find anywhere else.

Stop playing multi entry GPP contest unless you have the bankroll to max enter them as well as the knowledge. Just because you might be able to max enter the $4 150 max entry contest on FD or DK doesn’t mean you should be doing it.

I’d say if you are new stick to 50/50’s and depending on your bankroll you can add in some multiplier contest.

If you study the GPP contest and see what scores take down top 10 wins the lower dollar entry contest usually have some crazy high unattainable score. Either someone with max entries was able to cover all the angles from their research. Or someone threw a dart or two with a core and got lucky. The higher entry GPP contest are still high scores at the top but not as crazy as those lower buy in contest. I recently have seem some scores I put up in some free rolls would have taken down the Monster or Slugger type contest.

It’s fine to chase the big money just be smart about it and don’t waste to much of your bankroll on it. Play any free roll contest you can get into for GPP’s and try to build the best lineup possible with the knowledge you have.

Again can’t stress enough bankroll management will be the key to you failing or succeeding in DFS.

I appreciate all the advice here. awesome!
I entered a few using the free lineup builder here to build a few rosters just to see the difference in my old way of picking players to this sites way…on average its giving me about 160-161 points….we’ll see. I mean its only $5 in total so lets see what happens.
i’ll def look more into the other types of games as well 100 man contests and hope to build the bankroll…

Totally wrong game to play. Enter tournaments (gpps) or 50/50s (cash games) with 100 people or less. Your money will quickly go bye bye if all you do is enter the largest tournaments.

This I don’t agree with. Fewer entries means higher concentration of the players that max enter every contest possible via script. The softest games in any format will almost always be those with the largest fields imo. Be mindful of the high rake though . 15% for the big field low buy ins seems like what you’re going to have to pay nowadays.

I agree with squidkill about utilizing all of your beginner game entries first is the best thing to do. You only have a limited number of entries (50 it used to be) before you can’t play in beginner games so don’t waste them in regular games or in beginner quarter games. I didn’t know that when I started out.

You’ll only get better by playing. I have gotten significantly better each year. The only problem is………..so has everyone else.

part if me wishes there was a place to input your lineups and gage kind of where they will end up. obviously its all up in the air but I’d like to know somewhat that my lineup will be close to a great one, decent one, below average. I def get a feel thru the lineup builder tool here how to pick players and such…

oh and let me add the title of this thread is no doubt tongue & cheek just in case anyone was wondering. I mean who doesn’t WANNA WIN

If by “this site’s way” of picking players, you mean the free projections, you’re doing it wrong.

It varies sport to sport, but in general, the free projections are not the best. Even if they were the best, there is much more to building a GPP lineup than maximizing your mean points projection – upside, correlations, ownership, field size, etc.

While everyone is going to want to win, and it is admirable to want to improve and wise to ask others…Whenever these kind of threads pop up, my advice is that you also have to keep things in perspective….

    Per DraftKings user statistics:
    Past 30 Days
    Net winners: 14%
    Break Even: 12%
    Net losers: 74%

if you get frustrated it can be good to keep things in perspective. For the majority of people it should be having fun and playing an amount of money you can afford and maybe you get lucky and hit something big.

This is not true with fields of 100 people or less. That’s why I pointed them out.
