I was sitting here thinking since I have been playing DFS for a few months now, My Gf has hated me researching things and talking about it but it is fun and keeps me interested in baseball in this part of the season. I was wondering how many (if any) women play DFS and how many of us guy’s wives/Gf hate that they play?

Take some of your winnings and buy her something nice. Bought my wife a sick diamond necklace recently. Makes it easier for her to deal with. I mean, I could be down at the bar, but I’m home setting lineups instead so, there’s that.

Been married 24 years to the best woman in the world. She deals with it. Doesn’t ask much about it, but listens when I tell about it. I don’t tell her what to do and she doesn’t tell me.

my wife goes through spurts. sometimes she enjoys it and she generally likes my blogs, which helps. however, i’ve been lucky in that she usually went to bed at 7:30 pm so i was able to DFS to my heart’s content after that. however, she just switched jobs and now has normal person hours, so this next year could be interesting…

Anyone who frequents RG chat during NHL season has seen Melissa in there. She plays, I believe primarily on DD, but I’m sure on other sites too. Chat regulars can expand on that.

I feel like there were a few on FD during football (cheetahgurl comes to mind) and NBA season last year but I’m not positive since there are guys who use names that make you think it’s a woman behind the screen but in fact is a guy instead.

At first my wife wasn’t comfortable with the gambling aspect of it. I was playing NBA every night and checking scores etc etc.

She knows I run a football league in town so my DFS wasn’t too different for football.

We have had arguments in the past about how she spends so much time doing XYZ, she in return would say “well you waste some much time with fantasy”.

From that point on my goal was to save enough money through DFS to pay for a high end tablet since she had wanted one. So then fantasy sports has paid off for her as well as being fun for me.

Writing helped my cause because now it wasn’t just gambling, it was writing and gambling. Then Dan asked me to come on his podcast a few times for golf majors. So then it became less about gambling and more about writing and being a guest on a podcast.

Once I was named a finalist for golf writer of the year, she really had no reason to be concerned. After that was being added to Grinderslive team which she thought was pretty cool. But of course the final nail in the argument coffin was the 12K payday for the US Open.

I gave up all the other sports and focused on golf, why? Due to our work schedules on Thursday and Fridays we don’t really sit down together until 5pm (2 hours after the event is done for each day). By Friday afternoon I will know if I need to worry about following Saturday and Sunday.

My girlfriend is finally coming around. It helps though that we just got a $3000 deposit in our account from winning the strikeout. Now we are in for a fun filled day of shopping at IKEA on this beautiful Saturday. Fuck my life.

    IKEA is DFS for women.

Simple, find a girlfriend/wife that at the very least puts up with it. You put up with a lot of their hobbies.

    Here’s what you do:

    1) Make sure you aren’t taking a substantial amount of money away from her being able to do her hobbies… (I.E don’t lose your mortgage or lose so much you she can’t pay for her b.s. yoga class etc)

    2) Take her out when you have an occasional win, and then gently ask her when the last time her hobbies paid for a dinner/vacation etc.

Some of these responses are straight out of the 1950’s boys. I have a very good paying job, I pay for all of my hobbies, one of which is DFS. I haven’t walked into an IKEA in over 8 years, and yes I am a woman.

Just as soon as the rest of you throw up pics of yourselves. I find it interesting that because I tell you I’m a woman you want proof with a pic. If I told you I was a fat white guy with a beard (that I won’t shave until the Bears lose their first game) you would all shrug and be cool with it. You will have to take my word for it.

You should relax a little. No post that begins with “As the interweb kids say” deserves to be taken THAT seriously.

Tell your GF to find interests of her own and then she won’t have to worry about yours. Lol. Very common problem in our culture, allowing the wife/GF to determine what and when their husband/BF can do things they enjoy. That my friends is the beginning of the end. You can still have your individuality while in a relationship, and it should be supported and encouraged by the significant other. And that goes both ways. I always encourage the wife to go do fun things with friends, go on new adventures, etc. If that’s not present, cut ties immediately and sprint the opposite direction as fast as you can. :)
