So, if the state that I live in bans DFS, does the state government just seize the money in my account or can I cash out after they make the announcement?

  • einars

you will always be able to get your money out of your account

  • Ross

    You can cash out.

  • jfryrapap

    Thanks for the quick responses.

What is stopping say my brother who lives out of state to use my account? And places my lineups, sends me anything I win?

He wouldn’t be able to, that’s what would stop him.

His brother would not be able to use his account if his account is registered to a banned state. Yes, I’m sure of that.

He meant if his brother set up an account outside of NY and then just played his lineups for him.

  • QQSTUKIE

So you are not allowed to play when you are in a state which is legal?

This is different than what he said, in this case of course his brother could do that for him.

  • wolfjb1

Yeah, if they ban your state, of course you could find someone in another state to sign in and post LUs for you. All winnings go to your brother though, no to you.

  • Outlandas

Essentially you could have your brother create the account, give you the login info and you can do whatever. Obvioulsy he would need to give your winnings to you.

  • tvsfrink

I’ll play for you, and I’ll definitely give you the winnings. Just send me the money. This is totally legit.

And here is a perfect example of the consequences of certain states banning DFS….now those banned look for a way to skirt the system. Because of a love for DFS and all that comes with it, now its time to have to get sneaky to find a way to enjoy harmless entertainment. DirecTV should make a commercial of “bannedDFSplayer” Eli Manning and his newly sad Sunday life

I have a feeling you would need a brother in about 15 states. I think we will see many states to follow what ny did very soon and it is sad!!

  • BobGrinder

Yeah I saw it recently, it’s still running with proxies but I don’t think the Las Vegas Aces are winning the Cup anytime soon so. :P

It’s called money laundering and promoting illegal gambling. I’d hate to see a guy with the Stanley Cup in his avatar issued a federal jumpsuit even if the Cup is being hoisted by Crosby.

Thats almost like being a bookie. i wouldnt touch that if i were you. although i can see players colluding with each other in states that arent banned

You guys really need to stop speaking in absolutes.

If something illegal or non-compliant has been going on at any of these companies, funds can be frozen whether they are part of operating cash or customer escrow balances.

If you are worried about your state, make sure you play down your points with Fan Duel. When they closed Nevada, they refused to convert the FDPs to cash (they are saving them for you when it becomes legal again!). DraftKings did convert their points to cash. But if you are worried, cash them in this week.

Just from my experience, I have a friend who lives in Michigan. His account is registered to his home address in Michigan. He traveled to Arizona for work, which is a banned state. He couldn’t play DFS even on his account. Once he left Arizona he was able to play. So even if your brother uses your account he should still be able to play
