All those people trying to argue that DFS is skill & therefore legal need to check themselves:

“Illinois doesn’t allow internet gambling. State law prohibits playing a game of chance or skill for money or other thing of value.”

(It obviously involves skill, but that doesn’t matter much)

Yet they have an Illinois Lottery App. How do they think that works?

Its been real folks, Illinois can’t pass a budget, but I bet this flies through in no time. Will be kind of fun going all in this weekend though.

Wisconsin, Missouri, or Indiana would be better. Can’t play DFS in Iowa. This coming from a state that needs every dollar it can get because we are broke, and people are paying tax on it.

This industry better make some decisions quickly. Also, as I think Putz mentioned in another thread, where is the FSTA in all of this?

uh, It has already been decided.

No, not yet. The gambling board has to ask the state AG for an advisory opinion on whether or not it is illegal. If she writes the opinion that it is illegal, which I am unfortunately 99% sure she will, then it will be over.

This is clearly inaccurate. The article states that the board sent a letter asking for clarification from Madigan sometime next week. Meaning nothing has been decided, but the board would like a decision ASAP.

That’s what I meant, it is by no means official, but it sure as shit is over.

Yep, I’m treating this as if it will be my last DFS weekend.

There will be business text books written in the next decade using FD and DK as case studies on how to destroy an entire industry.

    Dumb Question,
If I have residence in both Wisconsin and Illinois, can I simply change my address on FD and DK to my wisconsin address and continue playing, even though the majority of the times I will be in my Illinois residence setting lineups?

Has everyone already forgotten about this case in Illinois or am I just the old bones around this joint these days?

Does the Nevada ruling ban it outright? My understanding ( could be wrong) is you face 10 yrs. prison time in Nevada unless the site has a license?jm

Hopefully the decision takes a while.

Well, it’s been fun. Not like the state despretley needs the taxes I pay on DFS winnings.

Illinois DFS Players: Take the time to send an e-mail to AG Lisa Madigan’s office here:

http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/about/email_ag.jsp – Might help the cause.

Have others written letters to politicians on the subject in the past and would mind sharing?

The FSTA is going to be a little busy having a little chat in Florida http://www.legalsportsreport.com/4883/dfs-federal-grand-jury-florida/

If Illinois falls then i would expect dk and fd to have to go all in legally to fight this with getting an injunction. The legal system in this country is a disgrace.

Worried about having to go back to working at McDonalds yet?

EDIT: Ryazan, I disagree with almost everything you post, but I apologize. I am not happy with this situation in Illinois but I hope you and as many people as possible can continue to play DFS. I will miss it and don’t wish losing it on anyone.

I think its dependent on where you physically are when trying to join contests and set lineups
