What are the pro’s / con’s of the two big sites?

If you could change anything —- what would it be and why?

I’m all for discussing things that are wrong but we also would need to think of solutions.

I have a feeling “late swap” is going to be a popular answer … and it is my initial thought too.

Here’s the link they sent me.

    That’s nuts.

“So in order to protect our depositors and our company, we typically don’t allow users to withdraw their deposited funds. But winnings can be withdrawn at any time!”

Total BS, you should have access to your money at all times, for any reason.

EASY ANSWER WHAT WOULD I CHANGE

make all games 10 entrys or less

no player can play more total 50 lineups per day

This evens the playing field and keeps dfs from being dominated by the sharks!!! if dk and fd had done that from the start they would never had drawn the govt attention!

But what about the people who rely on DFS as their main source of income? I’ve never been a fan of limiting other people’s action for that very reason. I’m not a pro by any stretch of the imagination but I can easily see how opposed pros would be to this. If you want those features play on yahoo.

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn’t know yahoo had those kind of protections in place. Good stuff.

Reatricting entries in that manner also would stop them from having the huge payouts that lots of people like and that draw in new players.
Once players play a while and wise up they may see the draw of the smaller games, but for many new/casual players it’s much like the lottery, as bizarre as the logic may be a $10 million dollar prize isn’t worth playing, but when it’s $500 million they go purchase $20 of tickets after work.
I’d argue those huge payrolls, as flawed as the setups may be, work the same in drawing in players.

As long as sites offer a good selection of limited entry games I don’t think it’s a big issue. As long as the choice is there, it’s up to me to decide what I want – chase the huge prize or play in an arguably “fairer” environment as a small bankroll single entry player.

Regarding the shitty Missions on Draftkings, I vote that if I complete the mission, I get the FPPs. End of story.

Pretty sure all of the “pros” have plenty of $$ to live life on.

  • FFguru71

For gods sake change the ridiculous payout for the large GPPs..Especially on DK!! If I spend $27 to enter a contest, the bottom money should not be..$30, then $35, then $40..That’s a complete waste of time. Bottom money spots should NEVER be less than double your money in a very large field GPP. I don’t understand why this concept is so hard for the sites to understand..Take some of the monery off the top payouts, even it out throughout the top payout structures. hell don’t pay so many spots if that’s what it takes, but nothing irritates me more in DFS then spending $25, or $27 on an entry, min cashing and winning like $13 profit..Double my money FD and DK!!!

  • kantiger77

Spread out winnings so more people can win with a good score.

  • tmarohl

I think I would flatten the payout structure on both sites.
For instance, tonights FD shot had a top price of 50K, 2nd was 20K, 3rd 10K. I think I would make the top prize 30K and take the 20K and spread it out across the entire pay structure so minimum cashes would be higher.

  • timusbr

make a voice for the dfs provider (FD or DK). Someone who has knowledge of the 30K ft view of the company and direction and someone who has a working day to day knowledge of how things get done.
Trot that person out once a week or more to answer questions and address issues.

If they are full of Sh*t, these savy customers will call them out soon enough.

If not Government regulation is right around the corner.

Dont know if its said or not before but DK missions are not the same for everyone. I really think they leave themselves open to a lawsuit because If I were to win the bronze silver or gold, the reason I didnt get the black is due to DK prohibited me from playing in that contest due to I was only offered bonus pts per lower missions than someone who is offered bonus pts for higher missions.

Before you troll – I know that statement is stretching things but.. Not everything is equal and its unfair practice that missions are different.

I like DK’s LU construction and scoring but prefer FD’s website and app. They’re much cleaner and much, much more user friendly. DK is very cartoonish in my estimation and not nearly as neatly organized as someone with OCD like me would prefer.

^This is why I can not play on DK. I have tried few time but it takes me forever to navigate to the correct page I want to get to. to save myself from intense frustration, i do not play on DK.

And this is the main problem and why the sustainability of dfs is in question. It is supposed to be fun and entering a tournament with 1-3 lineups becomes very not fun when others have 150 lineups. It playing in a $5 heads up against a pro. Losing money and being prayed on by sharks is no fun. This was never meant to be a living for people but illustrated why we can’t have anything nice because people will always find a way to exploit it for their gain.

But people act like there aren’t other options out there. Yahoo has practically everything that people ask for.

As for people using it for income, that’s totally fair. This is America, people hustle in different ways. Just because it wasn’t meant for people to use it as income doesn’t mean it can’t or should.

There really aren’t other options put there. To suggest that is laughable, especially considering Aces just went belly up.

Never said it wasn’t fair, but to deny it is likely going to kill the industry is being naive. It doesn’t take long for the average Joe to realize they stand zero chance and then go away. It isn’t a fair fight.

One thing I would like is mid level buy in single entries. I have really enjoyed the $10 single entries this week with good prize pools. At least I feel like II am on a level playing field. The $1 ones don’t really do it for me.

Trust me, I want DK to change as much as the next person. But what incentive do they have? Their user base is growing and people really haven’t spoke up with their wallet.

I disagree with the person who said 6 man stacks benefited mass multiple entry players more. I’m a 5-10 entry player and I did much better with the six man stacks. It seemed I was off that one player that went crazy a lot more with 5 man limits then with 6. The mass multiple entry players can make enough lineup’s to make sure they have that player at the very bottom of the order who goes off. With the 6 man. stack limit I felt I could compete much better with my small 5-10 lineup’s a night.

So DK please bring back the 6 man stacks and for gods sakes please don’t drop it to 4.

HAHA I KNEW you would eventually respond as you were the FIRST person I was thinking about when writing my post.

I don’t know man… I just don’t see how increasing the amount of players that are stackable makes it harder for the pros. With 5 man stacks, it’s exponentially harder for those with big bankrolls to covers all the possibilities. With 6 man stacks, all the pros need is to nail the pitchers, stack every team and then rotate 2 guys around. 5 man stacks changed the MLB game completely and I think it’s for the better. I’d love to hear others’ thoughts on this though.
