Thank you for the feedback. Our goal is to have contests everyone enjoys. We have listened to your input in our DraftKings Community what would you like to know? thread. Based on the thoughts from the RG community, we are expanding our 2x cash options to include the following:

    NBA: Featured 20-Max $4 game
MLB: Any Single Entry/3-max game $20 and under
MLB: Any 20-Max game $2 and under [starting Saturday]

We will continue to review the preferences of all our players as it pertains to top prize and payout structure through a mix of qualitative and historical data.

We’d love to continue to hear your thoughts in this thread, or you can contact us directly. Our goal is to continuously iterate and evolve to maintain a vibrant contest mix for all, and sincerely appreciate all of your engagement.

    Your player advocates,
Steven & Christie, DraftKings Community Team

If you guys keep anything please keep the $4 2x min cash you are running today!! That is perfect! Also the $10 5 entry max is great!

While I do have my 20 entries…this is almost too flat of a payout for my liking.

70k with 5k to first, then you have 10th place only getting $300 instead of the desired 10% of 1st place of $500

7k to first, 700 to 10th, pay out 20% of the field, 2x min cash would be ideal, I’ve noticed since we spoke up the flat payouts are almost becoming too flat now

Well, that $2 Tablesetter really lasted long.

When inquiring about it on Twitter, I was told to play the $3 20 Max instead. I see you listened to what your customers wanted for…oh about a week. Your MLB product is continuing to get worse and worse. Time to start looking to play elsewhere.

I don’t know what happened as well. I really enjoyed the $2 Tablesetter ($5K to 1st). Would much rather be entering those with the ability of maxing out at $40 then entering a $4 contest (with $7.5 to 1st) but maxing out now costs $80. I agree, it maybe a summer of just golf from Thursday to Sunday until football returns

I brought up the $2 Tablesetter in the “DraftKings Community” thread as well. That was Monday, and the last day it ran. Seems there are more than a few people who like this contest. So, again I will ask, what exactly is wrong with the contest that it cannot run on each main slate?

Yeah, where did it go? Add my vote to those clamoring to bring it back.

Plus however many we are up to for the Tablesetter. I loved it and played it everyday. Please bring it back and keep it.

When our headliner is a $5, we often run a matching $2 because it allows us to have big prize pools for both games by providing the right amount of spacing between the two. When we run an $8 centric mix we usually create two low stakes games at $4 and $1. This may give you some insight into how we build our mix of contests, and why you are not seeing the Tablesetter when we feature an $8 game.

Your comments are not falling on deaf ears – we do hear you. I am out of the office until Wednesday of next week, but when I return we will gather the MLB team together to present your requests for a more predictable schedule for the Tablesetter. No promises, but we will share your comments and help our team understand why. Your opinions matter to us, WE ARE LISTENING!

if enough people don’t buy into the BS multi-entry contests they’re throwing out there right now, then maybe they’ll be forced to correct it.
The 2x min-cash payout structure featured in the Tablesetter is a contest that appeals to a subset of our users, yet to be honest it is not what most users want. Entry data and customer feedback has shown us that the majority of players want a big 1st place prize and more places paid rather than a flat payout that offers 2x min-cash. We are building a DFS ecosystem that helps to meet the needs of these casual players, we want to give the people what they want – in the long run that should also benefit people like you who are more active players.

With that said, we want to offer BOTH options to our player community as we said above, and we intend to continue that plan.

Since this wasn’t answered, I’ll ask again. Why is the $5 Knuckelball only run on Mondays?

They did answer that by saying when they run a $5 game the $2 game comes with it but when they run the $8 game they pair it with a $1 and $4. It would be ncie to see them set a schedule and stick to it so everyone knows what games are offered on certain days but I do agree it doesn’t make sense to run every price point every day. Tough to please everyone since all users have thier owned preferred price point.

    $20 buy-in $20k Home Plate is only a $30 min cash today.

I shouldn’t have to click on every contest I might be interested in each day to look at the payout structure and see if it is worth playing. Why is it so hard to be consistent? Why can’t I just click on the same contest each day and get the same product/pay structure???

The MLB $30K Tablesetter was intended to be a 2x min-cash, good catch. Rest assured the Tablesetter is intended to be 2x min-cash going forward, naturally we reserve the right to change course but it is our intention.

Our head of product operations Greg K asked us to pass along this message from him, we all agreed that the player community deserves an explanation why this happened today.

‘Hey All – Based on the feedback from the community, our product operations team has been actively working on revising our payout curves, and implementing the ‘2x min cash rule’ where appropriate. This is currently a manual process for us, and we’ve made a few mistakes as we go through – tonight’s TableSetter being a prime example. By the time we noticed the mistake in our manual entry of tonight’s contest, enough users had entered that we didn’t feel it was appropriate to cancel and create a new contest. That said, we will be continuing to offer these games at 2x min cash, and tomorrow’s contests will have the correct payout curve’

    Cliff notes:

    1. A Payout Curve is our internal description for what the player community calls a “payout structure”
    2. The Tablesetter will return to 2x min-cash after tonight is complete

I posted this in the other thread as well regarding community questions, but I think it is a great example I’d like to see more of so posting here for people to weigh in if they like it too:

I want to commend you on the prize structure for the:
PGA $100K DRIVING RANGE [3 ENTRY MAX, 2X MIN CASH]

This is the perfect type of structure that many of us are asking for:

    - Approx 10-15% to 1st: CHECK – 10th place is a little under 10% of 1st (actually it is 10% of 2nd): CHECK – Paying out 20% of entrants: CHECK – 2X min payout: CHECK

Please use this structure as an example and put out more contests that fit this mold. This one is a 3x max which is nice, but there is no reason you can’t take these same percentages and make one of your big 20 max or 150 max GPPs to copy this structure.

Agreed. The golf tournaments look pretty good this week (with the exception of the dogleg). Too bad the US Open Millionaire is absolutely terrible, one of the most egregious I’ve seen. As I’ve argued before, when the field gets larger, the % to first should go down a bit, not up. 28.6% to first in a field of 205K…

DK seems to have it backwards actually.. a lot of the smaller GPPs have 5% to first. When actually those are the ones that you can get away with going past 15% without destroying our variance. Meanwhile for the giant GPPs you can make the % to first smaller and still advertise a large prize.

I’m half-tempted to run some simulations and write up a study on this issue.

But it wouldn’t be a millionaire maker without 1 million paid out to first place. Those are always the worst payout structures but they are very popular for the people that want to play the lottery for a chance at life changing money. I am fine with these being ran a few times a year as long as it is not the norm and I am sure there will be other decent US Open contests I can play without needing to touch the millionaire maker.

10% of the pool, $350K, would still be life-changing money.

My biggest GPP win came in a pool of $1.5M. Sure would have been nice to get 28.6% ($430K!!) or even 10%, but do you think I was complaining? No, I was celebrating.

Your point about other contests would be a fair one, but personally I am attracted by the biggest contests and it is frustrating that they have now become the ones with the worst structure. There will be some good GPPs I am sure but I doubt there will be the volume to support two flagships. I am sure tons of people will join, and I will throw in a couple lineups myself. But if the structure was appealing I would be mass entering.

Last night I max entered a quarter jukebox.

Afterwards I discovered the payout structure.

21% of places paid. However, half the places paid get 30 cents, meaning a 5 cent profit.

Then tack on rake being where it’s at. You essentially need consistent top 10 finishes in GPP’s to be a profitable player long-term. And we all know for most people that’s not going to be a reality. So, either the rake needs to go down or the payouts need to go up, or both. Let’s be honest even finishing in 6-10th place is not that alluring. It’s basically still first place or bust when I see the payout structures.

Why are the MLB $20 3max 2x min-cash field sizes reduced so drastically on specific slates? This tournament structure seems to be very popular and have been consistently filling 1100-1400 fields (and I think they could prob fill bigger fields as well), yet today for the early 8 game slate it is a 294 person field that filled 2 hours before lock.

Jesus. Beat 70% of the people and win half your entry fee Back lol. DK needs to quit wasting money on advertising and useless promotions. Lower the rake or this site will eat itself in a few years.
