In the interest of allowing all players to make use of the new rules regarding “script” automation, we’ve got our first-draft, automation tool ready to be demo’ed by anyone interested in bulk entering lineups on DraftKings. This first iteration tool supports importing a CSV into the DraftKings “My Lineups” page. We have plans to allow the entering of lineups directly into contests and plans to allow the editing of a set of lineups you have already entered. Everyone give a big virtual high-five to @nicslim for his work on this.

A Firefox extension is coming soon as well, but still has to go through the review process.

UPDATE: Our Firefox extension is still not approved, but for any of you that want to try this extension out in Firefox, you can go ahead and install it at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/rotogrinders-draftkings-tools/, you’ll just see a short warning that the extension has not yet been approved by Firefox.

The following video gives a complete walkthrough for how this extension works.

Thanks, guys, and let us know what you think!

    A few other tidbits:

    • We also plan on releasing a FanDuel version of this extension to facilitate the bulk entering of lineups. This extension will end up a bit different since FanDuel doesn’t currently allow bulk editing of lineups.
    • We’ve added an “Export to CSV” option to our DraftKings Lineup Builder Tool. This button will allow you to “heart-select” your favorite lineups and export them to CSV for use in this extension. We have a lot of ideas for improvements for our Lineup Builder that will let people construct teams in a variety of different ways, and this export option will come in handy for any teams you’d like to bulk enter.

Similar to tolpeko I seem to have an issue with the bulk edit when all the lineups aren’t new lineups. Let’s say that I have 50 lineups already in DK and I want to upload 20 new ones plus thirty that are already in the system. The system only seems to edit the new ones. In this case the old ones I want to get rid of stay on DK because there isn’t enough entries to cover taking them out. I would suggest the edit to simply replace all lineups one at a time without regard to if they are already an existing lineup or am I simply missing something?

Having a strange problem lately when bulk editing my placeholder lineups. It will say, for example, 50 out of 50 lineups replaced without any errors. However, when I look at my lineups, some of them aren’t updated at all and I have to edit them manually. This is a new problem that just popped up over the last few days. I am using the Chrome version and tried clearing my cache and reinstalling the extension. Any ideas?

Figured it out – was a simple problem with my CSV where the positions were out of order for some lineups. Carry on. :)

this link (To get started Install the Rotogrinders Draft Kings chrome extension here)
doesn’t work for me. the link takes me to page that doesn’t have the download buttons for the extensions to make the multi-lineup for DK. if you guys had a attachment button with this window I would show you the pictures I took of the page your link takes me to and that isn’t the download links page that your you tube video shows. So you all must still be in the testing period. I tried that link with IE and the Chrome browser and neither works period………………..

Getting the following error in Chrome when trying to use the “Edit Lineup Entries” option:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘DraftGroupId’ of null
    lineupImport.js, line 187

Currently running version 0.7.1 of the extension.

Can this script be used to modify rosters after lock? Lock’d slates remain an option for the bulk-import. When I attempted to use it, the script ran through all of my inputted rosters and stated “success” for each roster inputted. Some of the rosters, however, were not replaced. I kept all lock’d players in the same roster position in my input. Is this functionality not available?

  • jwmayfield

Just installed the extension on a different machine and it’s working fine.

This should work if you have no locked players in a lineup for a slate that has started (such as creating a Thursday night NFL dummy lineup where you intend to use all Sunday players). But I can’t confirm that it will work if players in the lineup have already started.

Did you notice if the rosters that were replaced had any locked players in them?

Thanks for alerting all on another quick way to do scripts. I am not able to spend that amount of money so will stick to the few single entry gpps that are available.

  • zach37

Draftkings is not recognizing the import? Any suggestions? thanks!!

Playing 50 entries in Quarter Arcade using the tool costs $12.50. Doesn’t necessarily break the bank.

  • marino4ever

I’m trying to this little tool out by entering into the quarter arcade. I entered 40 dummy LU into the contest, to secure my place. How do I bulk edit LU that are already in a contest?

  • Vego07

Using excel to export but it is saying that it doesn’t recognize the first name from the sheet…which doesn’t make sense because it’s Tom Brady….

Coose Bulk Edit, instead of Import New, it will then show you on the left the slates/line ups you can bulk edit

Are you using the Rotogrinders import tool (the orange button), or Dks Upload button? You’ll want to use the orange one

Hi @zach37, are you using the orange import button that we provide or DK’s new built-in feature? Our CSV currently doesn’t work with the latter.

After you export to CSV, the CSV is downloaded onto your computer. Then you use the extension as shown in the tutorial to upload that CSV.

Trying to upload into DK lineups page and after choosing the csv file to upload. Getting “File Error – we could no identify the first player listed”. Please advise. Thank you.

I have the extension installed, but do not see the orange button. I love the tool I really can’t believe I’m just now trying this!

Our CSV doesn’t work with the new built in DK tool. You must use the interface that comes with the orange Import button provided by the RG extension.

Just used the FireFox Extension — works like a champ. So sad it is the end of NFL season. But I will be using it a great deal next year. Thanks for all the hard work.

Received this today. was nice while it lasted.

    Hello,

At DraftKings, our customers are at the core of everything we do. We are continuously seeking your feedback and optimizing our product to ensure that we are offering the best possible experience for all our users.

Today, as part of an ongoing dialogue with our users, we are taking additional steps to enhance our platform.

We know that efficiency and user experience is extremely important to DraftKings players. To that end, we recently launched a new tool that makes it easier for players to enter their DraftKings lineups, and we will continue to innovate and add features that allow everyone to use our site quickly and efficiently.

With the implementation of the new tool, effective January 29, 2016, DraftKings will prohibit the use of scripts and other automated means of interacting with our site. Though all customers were previously allowed to use scripts, going forward, all users must use only the tools available on the DraftKings site to submit lineups, enter contests, and perform all site activity.

DraftKings is committed to providing competitive and entertaining contests for our players while ensuring transparency of the Daily Fantasy Sports industry and we have been engaged for years in proactively defining ground-rules for responsible play.

We encourage you to send us your feedback and ideas to support@draftkings.com.

    Thank you,
    The DraftKings Team

The import button is no longer there. So now we just need a script to turn the lineups rotogrinder lineup bulder creates into the correct csv file to upload to draft kings.

@bhizzle, the Lineup Builder tool has already been changed to export lineups to a CSV in the format that DK requires for their version of the tool. See our pinned post about this here: https://rotogrinders.com/threads/lineup-builder-changes-for-draftkings-bulk-upload-1135534
