In the interest of allowing all players to make use of the new rules regarding “script” automation, we’ve got our first-draft, automation tool ready to be demo’ed by anyone interested in bulk entering lineups on DraftKings. This first iteration tool supports importing a CSV into the DraftKings “My Lineups” page. We have plans to allow the entering of lineups directly into contests and plans to allow the editing of a set of lineups you have already entered. Everyone give a big virtual high-five to @nicslim for his work on this.
To get started Install the RotoGrinders DraftKings chrome extension here
A Firefox extension is coming soon as well, but still has to go through the review process.UPDATE: Our Firefox extension is still not approved, but for any of you that want to try this extension out in Firefox, you can go ahead and install it at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/rotogrinders-draftkings-tools/, you’ll just see a short warning that the extension has not yet been approved by Firefox.
The following video gives a complete walkthrough for how this extension works.
Thanks, guys, and let us know what you think!

Nic, any time table on DK NFL pre-season projections for the lineup builder? Love the new tools! Thank you soooo much. =)

i feel your pain lol
Yeah that’s a rough issue but it’s definitely critical because Chris Young is in play every time there’s a lefty against him.
Used this for the first time today. Worked great. Did not know how much work it is to switch out non-starters. Didn’t want to do global swap and end up with some lackey’s (not the SP). So did it manually. Maybe there is a better way?
Works great thanks!!!….only issue is for some reason when I try to download a csv for the late slate I am getting a file that has nothing in it. It is only when there are only two game though.
Yeah, this has been rough, many lineups failing today….Chris Young is in many of them.
Chris Young went to the bullpen right? Just delete him from the internet.
The lineup builder had Chris Young in 27 out of my first 35 lineups. I threw them all out and never swapped him back in.
Gonna go kick the puppy now.
What would be great is a fast and easy way to distribute lineups among the 50 contest entries I created earlier in the day (using a dummy lineup). DK’s export lineup tool is not very user-friendly, seems like it requires a page refresh after every lineup export or you run the risk of screwing up previous exports. Any suggestions?
I give a lot of credit to guys who multi-enter lineups, it’s not as easy as it looks.

what i did yest that helped is pick a player same price as young i wasnt going to play(chose venable yest), used venable in place of young then did a mass swap once they were imported..
Any ETA on the FD side of this tool :)
Question regarding DK script tool. For example, I enter 100 place holder lineups into a tourney to hold my spot. I work on my .csv file throughout the day and once I have a final draft I want to override my 100 place holder lineups with the finished product. When I reupload my .csv file it does not replace my place holder lineups. Instead it just uploads these new 100 lu’s for a total of 200 lu’s. But, my original 100 place holder lineups are the ones in the contest. Question is, how do I use my final .csv file to override the place holder lineups instead of adding them. Thanks in advance.

@kcchiefsfan73, that is not currently supported but something we will be working to add.
i love you.
Maybe someone can help me out. I downloaded the extension in Chrome. However there is no icon for it at the top and no way for me to access it or start it up. I have been on google and am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. So once it is downloaded, how do I get it open. Sounds simple but I can’t open or access the extension.

The orange “import lineups” button should appear at the top of your DraftKings My Lineups page. To the left of create new lineup and global player swap.
That just showed up. Could I make a CSV list of players on anything you can write on like Microsoft Word, a note pad, or something else? Then you import? Forgive the beginner questions as all this is new to me.
Thanks
Yes, as long as the names are a match for the DK names and have them in order, it shouldn’t be a problem according to the instructions given here.
I’m still a little confused on what exactly “scripting” is. Is it the following: you make your own player projections (point totals) than have a line-up builder create different line-ups based on your projections. Then with all those projected line-ups you can use “scripting” to send them all to DK or FD?

I’m no developer, but it seems like this extension is reliant on knowing your login/pw and subsequently has access to more than just uploading lineups (think play history, personal information, etc)
This is what it says when installing

Has anyone (not affiliated with RG) examined exactly what this is capable of retrieving?

Hi @RikkiDee, This script has no need for your login or password, nor does it have permission to view them.
“Read and change data” is a standard permission that’s required in order to run what’s referred to as a content script from an extension. A content script has access to “data” on the webpage, in that it can read and modify the page. That’s how we are able to add the “Import Lineups” button as well as display the window for uploading your csv.
I can assure you we are not using the extension to send any sensitive personal data to RotoGrinders or third parties. For anyone familiar with Chrome’s developer tools, you can inspect the network tab to confirm this.
While common for any extension you install, these warnings look scary, and for good reason. There is definitely the potential for abuse, and therefore a healthy level of trust is required before installing any extension. Here is a blog post that does a nice job of explaining why extensions need permissions and what you should be careful about.
Hope that helps clear things up. I’m happy to answer more questions if you have them.
Noticed today, a lot of unmatched Players occurred for no aparent reason, verified I was under the cap and all players had proper elligiblity, not complaining, just thought I would let the RG team. Luckily I toned it down to under thirty so I could enter by hand.
On MAC—the csv orange button on rotogriners is what you hit initially. When you hit the orange button on DK it will ask the sport and name of file.If you go to ‘finder’ on MAC the file shows ‘saved lineups’.Open that and the lineups load on DK.I’m not overly savvy but the process on MAC is fairly easy.jm
Any resolution on the Chris Young issue? Gonna be in play again tomorrow.
EDIT: The home run hitter instead of the home run pitcher popped up when I typed that so I’m going to guess it’s working now.
how exactly does this make things faster? Seems like more of a hassle.
