TOOLS FORUM

In the interest of allowing all players to make use of the new rules regarding “script” automation, we’ve got our first-draft, automation tool ready to be demo’ed by anyone interested in bulk entering lineups on DraftKings. This first iteration tool supports importing a CSV into the DraftKings “My Lineups” page. We have plans to allow the entering of lineups directly into contests and plans to allow the editing of a set of lineups you have already entered. Everyone give a big virtual high-five to @nicslim for his work on this.

To get started Install the RotoGrinders DraftKings chrome extension here

A Firefox extension is coming soon as well, but still has to go through the review process.

UPDATE: Our Firefox extension is still not approved, but for any of you that want to try this extension out in Firefox, you can go ahead and install it at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/rotogrinders-draftkings-tools/, you’ll just see a short warning that the extension has not yet been approved by Firefox.

The following video gives a complete walkthrough for how this extension works.

Thanks, guys, and let us know what you think!

    A few other tidbits:

    • We also plan on releasing a FanDuel version of this extension to facilitate the bulk entering of lineups. This extension will end up a bit different since FanDuel doesn’t currently allow bulk editing of lineups.
    • We’ve added an “Export to CSV” option to our DraftKings Lineup Builder Tool. This button will allow you to “heart-select” your favorite lineups and export them to CSV for use in this extension. We have a lot of ideas for improvements for our Lineup Builder that will let people construct teams in a variety of different ways, and this export option will come in handy for any teams you’d like to bulk enter.

how exactly does this make things faster? Seems like more of a hassle.

If you have a spreadsheet that autogenerates 50 lineups to your specifications and outputs it to a .csv, then you are saved a bit of time creating lineups in DraftKings. For golf today, it took what would have been a 60 minute job down to two minutes for me which included outputting those lineups to a .csv file. Because Golf is not late scratches and my projections won’t change over the next couple hours, I used this tool instead of my own. No complaints.

Hey, Yuk. You mentioned u payed $1830 for a script, and also mentioned u had a spreadsheet that spits out multiple lineups. Did that all come together? or did u get the multiple lineups elsewhere? I’m a complete excel noob, but I was able to make one for nascar, but I can only get it to come up with 1 optimal lineup. No search i have made gives me any idea of how to create multiple ones.

I did the excel projections and lineup builder on my own. I’m sure a freelancer could make you one pretty easily though.

Hey all – we’ve published an update to the Chrome extension that has support for multiple players with the same name, such as RG favorite, Chris Young.

The extension should auto-update for you within a few hours. But if you want to manually update, go to chrome://extensions in your browser and click “Update extensions now”. The updated version number is 0.5.3

By no means am I complaining. I’m whining. Slight difference. :)

If people are wondering the price of what a freelancer would cost to do this type of thing, there you have it. RG just handed all these peeps an $1830 tool.

Hi Yukerboy. I have been following this request for a couple of weeks. Was this your ad.

That was one, but the guy I awarded it to declined. The others were much overpriced compared to the one I got at Freelancer.com

That’s too funny. Since I don’t have friends that are really into coding this was going to be the route I took at some point.

I just wanted to get a season under my belt to understand what drives DFS NFL and/or Basketball so I could decide what to request from the coder. I was feeling, What good is a tool if you dont know the basics?. That would like me buying a 3,000+ Triton high level keyboard because I like the way it looks and I know what it can do, but I don’t have the knowledge or skill to take advantage of my pricey tool.

Here is one I just came across from a guy requesting what rotogrinders now offers for free

Try that link again. It should work now. I had to do something for the Firefox add-on review process and the link was temporarily disabled until I did it.

    Yep, it’s there. thanks

This is a really awesome tool, and I am REALLY excited about the ability to auto enroll in contests! Thank you!

For people preparing their outputs in anticipation of tourney enrollment, how exactly do you guys see that working? Is there going to be a separate .csv that contains the tourney numbers you want to enter on correlated lines, or are you guys going to define payout structures and allow people to select payout structures they’re interested in, if they’re indifferent to specific tourneys. Further follow-up, if I want to enter into twenty “triple-ups” that are only $1, and DK (for MMA for instance) is only offering 4, is there some way that the software will store which teams got submitted for tourneys so that when I return the next day, I can automatically enter in additional tournaments that have since popped up? (I’m basically verbalizing what I really really hope is true!)

Very good tool, has been very useful in entering my lineups, and saved me time and hundreds of clicks (RG preventing carpal tunnel syndrome!)

Noticed lots of comments from folks of how now everybody will become maxdalury-ish and bulk enter everything…My two cents on this subject is this – this is a tool, and a useful one. Without the required research and preparation of those line ups however, using this tool can be disastrous to your bankroll. There are no shortcuts to research.

Google “powertool injuries” sometime…greusome! And a powerful reminder that a tool is only useful if you know how to use it properly. Otherwise, it is hazardous!

If I want to enter 200 lineups on DK for PGA tonight, this is the process I’m imagining.

I use the RG tool to upload 50 lineups. I go to my tournament and enter all 50 with one click. Great!

Now for the next 50, I upload those using the RG tool, and try to enter the tournament and DK pre-selects all 100 boxes – so I have to unclick the first 50 one by one, and then hit enter. Pretty cumbersome, but doable.

Now for the next 50, I have to upload 50 more, and then when I enter my tournament, 150 boxes are checked, and I have to uncheck 100 boxes. And then for the last 50, when I enter all 200 boxes will be checked and I have to uncheck 150 boxes. Pretty miserable. (But obviously better than manually typing them all)

Is there a better/easier/faster way than that??

  • phillydilly

personally, i find it easier to upload all my lineups at once, and then just click the enter button under each LU rather than go through unchecking stuff.

In the future, the plan is to be able to edit entered lineups? Correct? Hopefully DK and FD will come up with some type of API to make this scenario much less of a nightmare.

Hey everyone, we’ve updated the extension to make it easier to enter more than 50 lineups, as well as withdraw multiple lineups.

    Entering Lineups

In the lower right corner of the contest pop-up, we’ve added a dropdown menu that lets you check/uncheck groups of 50 lineups at a time, making it easier to work with DK’s 50 lineups at a time limit.

    Withdrawing Entries

On your MyContests page, if you click any contest to bring up its details pop-up, you’ll see that we have added a red “Withdraw All” button. Clicking this will withdraw all of your entries into that contest.
A couple of notes about this: – You cannot withdraw entries for contests that are full or within 15 minutes of the contest start time. – This will withdraw all of your lineups from the contest. If the lineups were only entered in that contest, they will no longer show up on your Lineups page and you will have to re-import them.

For those of you using the Chrome version, the extension should auto-update for you. But you can always go to chrome://extensions and manually update.

The Firefox version will be a couple of weeks behind, as we are still in their preliminary review process and every update pushes us to the back of the queue.

Let us know what you think, and keep the awesome feedback coming!

One suggestion that may take a while, but the ability to swap players for more expensive, ie you have a 1b at 4500 you swap him for a 5000 1b and it swaps in all the lineups with 500 or more cap space…
