    Introducing the StarStreet MLB Grind

    We’re Live!

OK guys, the event is up and running. If you’d like to follow along, the StarStreet guys have put together a sweet leaderboard for us. Check it out:

StarStreet has decided to throw in a $530 Playboy ticket for the overall winner, and a $27 ticket for every player that makes the playoffs!

Hey guys! So after the huge amount of interest that we got for the StarStreet Challenge during the NBA season, I’ve gotten a lot of requests to run a baseball version. So, I’ve been in talks with the guys from StarStreet, and I’m happy to present to you the StarStreet MLB Grind!

For those of you who don’t know, this event is a fun and unique DFS format that pits the same players against each other day in and day out over the course of a few weeks and awards the players with the best overall performance at the end of the event.

    So how does it work?

Here is a breakdown of everything that is already set:

    - The contest will span over the course of multiple days. Contests will run every weekday except Thursday each week, and that schedule will continue until 20 games have been played.

    - Each day will play like a normal GPP. Each player will receive a ticket to that day’s game, and payouts will be dispensed as any normal tournament would.

    - In addition to prize payouts, each player will be awarded points based on their finish. Last place will receive one point, and as you move up the standings, you receive additional points. In other words, last place is awarded 1 point, second to last place is awarded 2 points, etc, all the way up to the number of entrants.

    - There is also a side pot, which will be put towards the prizes for the winners of the overall event. The amount of money in the side pot will be determined later (see below).

    - The total buy-in must be paid at the beginning of the event.

    - At the end of the 20 days of contests, the top players in total points will participate in a playoff bracket. See below for more details about the playoff structure.

    - Each player’s lowest score over the 20 day period will be dropped.

    - At the end, there will be a survivor style playoff, where the top 8 players qualify to participate, and half of the field is eliminated each day until the final two remain.

    Buy In

This has been decided, we’re going for the $11 buy in, $50 side pot, for a total buy in of $270

I’m in if it’s the $135 buy-in. For the playoff, I’d vote for survivor style, but I’m fine with either.

I’m in. StarStreet is my best site, and would like to try this challenge. I would vote for $5.50 buy in and traditional playoff structure.

  • williamsz93

    I’m in!

Edit: Would prefer survivor style but down for either.

IN. As far as standard elimination vs survivor, it’s not a conversation imo – gotta go Jeff Probst style.

I don’t care about the buy in price but the idea of a larger side bet. Maybe a pay a few more spots.

Also recommend a Sacko award or punishment to last place.

  • sberger

I would be in for this. $5.50 buy in and survivor

The plan is to leave this up for about a week to get an idea for the interest. After that the guys from SS will put it up on their site and get some signups there and we’ll get rolling.

With that said, if the response to this thread starts to die down in the next day or two, we might speed things up a bit, but we’ll be sure to keep everyone updated!

I am in if there any spots left.
