Hello Grinders, we did it. We survived January 2019. How are your New Year Resolutions going? I for one am not doing well on my diet. I’m also not exercising much and my Fitbit keeps buzzing to remind me how lazy I am. But enough about me. January was a slower month on the blogging front, but that’s to be expected with NFL coming to a close. With NBA season in full force and MLB right around the corner, I expect we’ll see more blogs coming in shortly. Despite January being a slower-than-normal month for blog entries, we still got some solid ones that we want to highlight.

As a reminder, RotoGrinders also recognizes blog winners through badges that will appear in your user profile trophy case. You’ll begin to see these soon if you were a blog winner. Let’s dive in!

    Blogger of the Month ($200)

    GuarGuar and rmkirksey

There were two RGers who really stood out in January, and I felt they were both worthy of this award. As such, we are naming co-Blogger of the Month awards to GuarGuar and rmkirksey. GuarGuar continues to be a force in the RG blog program, churning out their NBA Pick and Pop series on a routine basis. It’s become a must-read for those of us in the community and we always appreciate the time GuarGuar takes to write each blog article. For rmkirksey, I took notice of the Locks, Take Stock, and Two Smoking Players series last month but it was their Yahoo NBA Survey series that really stood out for me. As more people start playing NBA DFS on Yahoo, rmkirksey decided to leverage a similar format to the RG Survey produced for other sites. Great job to you both.

Blogger of the Month – Runner Up ($100)

    Cal_Naughton_Jr and Ross21

I also wanted to recognize two RG bloggers who both produced solid tennis DFS content in January, and that’s Cal_Naughton_Jr and Ross21. I love playing these niche sports, and I love even more how they continue to write blogs to help those of us who want that content on a regular basis. I felt because of this, they were both worthy of sharing the Blogger of the Month – Runner Up award.

Blog Post of the Month ($75)

    Cmahon23

The Blog Post of the Month award goes to Cmahon23 for his entry here titled “The Train (Philadelphia). It’s a fantastic read of Cmahon23, rbcues, zbark2, and Muleyhaven connecting outside of the virtual world and building a bond over DFS. Derek Carty also makes an appearance in the blog! It’s great hearing about how DFS can bring people together.

    Best New Blogger ($50)

    rsimone

rsimone is January’s Best New Blogger. rsimone produced various NBA content last month, including a piece on values to consider, matchups, and even one specifically on what to do with James Harden during his historic hot streak. They were great reads and I’m looking forward to more content in the future by rsimone!

    Most Interesting/Entertaining Blog ($50)

    rlamarco08 and sochoice

Lastly, rlamarco08 and sochoice both reserve kudos for the Most Interesting/Entertaining Blog co-awards. rlamarco08 produced a nice piece here on NFL free agent destinations, while sochoice had a fun piece here on the whole Jimmy Butler fiasco.
