Went with the 10 finger grip a few days ago. Hit my first and probably last 300 yard drive, but I am sold on it.

I finally watched the Kevin Na post-round interview and I have to admit that I kinda like the dude now. He wears his emotions on his sleeve for sure, but a grinder nonetheless… I’m an ass! #YahToTheNa Ha-ha-ha…

    question to the forum –

So Kevin Na is a stand up guy with a sense of humor and someone you can like. Someone who swears like a dock worker when he misses a Putt whether he is winning or losing.

Should it change the way we treat him in the Forum?

My take is NO…He is a rat bastard because of DFG and his WD’s and his seeming uncaring for my money when I roster him. Sure he is a great person, Most all of the people we trash for DFG are great people.

not criticing you Nick, just a question.

survivorship bias. We are only seeing Kevin Na’s interview after he won a million dollars — letting it cloud judgement. There is no interview for when he WD 5 minute before tournament , which we would probably call him a whiney baby.

Stay true to your Na hatred tim….

I don’t dislike any golfers, I don’t have a list of no play golfers, when a golfer WD’s or plays bad I don’t let it bother me as we have no idea why and as far as I am concerned nobody wakes up and says to themselves that they want to suck at there job that day….

Quick prelim look at the weather for Scottish open.
Clear and sunny, temp upper 50’s, thurs wind 3mph until 10am increasing slowly to 7mph, Friday 5mph until 10am and increasing to 10mph. sounds like a golfers dream.

Stenson elbow injury WD from Scottish Open

Fleetwood WD from Scottish Open as well citing he needed rest.

Stenson is super cheap for the Open Championship but an elbow injury is not a good injury to have when you have to thrash from knee high fescue !!

Well there goes my Stenson to win bet I placed awhile back. At least it’s well ahead of time. Hope he gets better soon.

On the euro event. Google sheets and other sources I use didnt mention the fact that the Open Championship was played here in 2013. At least it was on the property, from what I read the site has 3 courses and what is used is some combination of the 3 but primarily course #1. but the yardage and par 71 match up with 2013.

I agree with you, but think you knew i would. He will screw over someone soon and they will feel the same way…

I was a very good electrician, they industrial, old slick 50 PLC’s way back in the day, when you had to roll the computer DESK out to the machine to hook to computer. then weld, learned how to use a lathe, Mill, grind, Everything in a real industrial setting. In that place, you were only good or great if you never made a mistake. A mistake costs you reputation you can never get back.

In Scottish open 11 of the top 12 salaries all carry PGA tour cards. (Andy Sullivan is lone exception)

Has anyone been following these CBS weekly predictions? Their model is always touted as being “all over” the previous week’s winner. This week they are claiming to have been all over Kevin Na but the article singled out Jimmy Walker…

One thing I just noticed is that Fleetwood plays a ton of golf. Most of the top ranked guys have played about 15-18 tournies this year…Fleetwood has played 22

Edit: Just saw BIF’s post about Fleetwood withdrawing needing rest which makes sense based on what I just noticed

I believe Carnoustie only has 1 course that I know of. I did a golfing trip to Scotland after high school and only remember 1 being there when I played it. And god damn was that a tough course.

Also I just noticed the Scottish Open is being played at Gullane which was another course I played on that trip and my favorite of the 5 courses we played (which included St Andrews) Gullane was also the site of the closest I’ve come to a hole in one where I lipped one out from about 190.

Ahhh, to be young again and not have 190 be anything but a blur. Very cool to have done that on that kind of special outing.

ya I’m 30 now, so it was about 12-13 years ago. I was about a 8-9 handicap at my best but that 190 shot was still with like a 4 iron as I’m a short guy with very little distance so it was a pretty lucky shot. Nowadays I don’t get to play nearly as much so my handicap is probably up in the 15 range

haha that’s awesome, I love that he knows he’s only got a 1% chance of seeing the weekend

Do you think if he actually does make the weekend and gets some cash out of it the caddie will get a bonus on top of the gloves & balls?

    Awesome – enjoy !
If you are staying on the property, come hungry and over indulge at their Breakfast Buffet….it is insane.

Golf Tip: if you are there a day before or early in the day of your tourney – practice your putting/chipping from a little ways off the green as you will end up 20-40 feet off greens a bunch of times. Get comfortable with a shot type or two that works for you otherwise you will look like Spieth at the US Open with balls rolling back to your feet.

I’m headed away this week as well for a 4-day weekend with my wife from Fri-Mon so I won’t be around much after Round 1 but I’ll still pump some lineups in and check in occasionally.

I get there the afternoon before, so will take your advice on that chipping practice. All I’ve heard about is the turtle back greens. Thanks.

I was a member at a Donald Ross designed course many years ago and we called them “upside-down saucers” so I know all about the chipping area run-offs.

Just get as comfortable as you can chipping uphill and getting the right distance down as it starts to go downhill shortly after the uphill part 😂

Well regardless of how I play, I’m just exited to walk the hallowed grounds. Playing well would just be a bonus.
