Another heat wave here in MD, been so busy with work and have had zero time to research. Will be spending all of 60 minutes tonight throwing some stuff against the wall.

Was listening to Matt Adams show this morning on Sirius and he had Chris Stroud on at 7:30. Said the course was playing soft and everyone should be firing at the pins which for him he was hoping his putter would get going finally.

I found it interesting as he was explaining how he decided to change clubs and everything this season since he won the Barracuda last year and is fully exempt through next season. Said it was pretty much a free year but it took him almost 6 months just to get his driver locked in. Loves his putter but they are just not dropping. Now add he admitted to not practicing as much when he takes time off so he can spend more times with his 2 girls. Personally not sure I would have the cajones to do such an overhaul and banking on really 1 year to keep my card.

Is it bad that when I’m really close on picking between two guys for my main lineup that I let the fact that one of them is in a PGA Tour LIVE feature group act as a tie breaker so that I can watch them hit all their shots for 2 days?

You’d be amazed how much these guys change clubs over a year. Most players will play 2 different driver models in a year and multiples of each model. I’ve heard players trying 10+ drivers of the same model as they all feel a little different. One of the guys broke his driver and tried 50 different heads to find one he felt was the same as what he broke.

Doing a full bag overhaul is more rare for sure but not uncommon when a guy changes companies. Sometimes they’ll keep a 3W, Putter or wedges from their old company but everything else is new.

90% of club changes have minimal impact as they are moving from the 2017 model to the 2018 and they look and feel very similar. Changing companies definitely has a bit more risk and in some cases a longer adjustment period – if you recall a couple years ago when PXG came out, everyone that moved over to them (Zach, Billy Ho, Chris Kirk, Hahn, etc…) all struggled for months before someone finally won. Think it was Hahn who got the first PGA Tour PXG win and that was after about 8 straight MC’s.

Personally I have played an almost entirely Callaway bag for over 20 years because of my fear of changing but I did buy Adams irons about 5 years ago as they felt great and were about $600 cheaper for the set of 9 irons.

    I respect this decision…

I do this sometimes, which is probably why I’m not very good lol. Last week I was 1 for 2 on my PGA Tour Live selections – Teddy Potts missed the cut but I did get a nice week out of Austin Cook.

If it’s truly a coin-flip tiebreaker, it seems as good as any other way to decide.

I played him a couple of times and now know why he did shit. It is things like this you will never know unless tight with the tour. A change in clubs is 2 strokes to start, that is 50% MC

I think all business is good here. I sold out of my product, no stock ! Poor ordering from warehouse in my opinion trying to save space. Drives me nutz because I have to short orders to retailers, then ship again a month later, costs money we need not waste.
Having a price increase in anticipation of increased costs. I am NOT going to get hung out to dry, with everything else going up, I need to cover tracks. How many businesses have that on their plate.
Talked directly to a BIG boat mfg. here in the states that imports their metal from Canada to build the boats, then ships 30% back over the boarder for a second round of Tariffs. As state, 30% to bring metal over, 10% when sending boat back over to YOU.

This cant end good… But who know, maybe he caught this just in time to save the country and although a recession hits, it could be short lived and we come out on the back side of it shinning. Not the plan he has in mind, but by default, might work out…

I am liking Merritt, Dahmen, Wise, Besides the Normal RF guru’s of Kirk, Gay, and will take another shot at the rookie…Xiong

Think wise gets a top 5… 4 Mc’s in a row, but that last 68 shows he is ready to break out again

In case your playing an Open Championship angle this week, Andrew Landry has now qualified for the tourney as an alternate.

Yah, I knew you were in dessert business so a heat wave is a very good thing 👍 other than the added refrigeration and air conditioning costs.

I love taxes and tariffs – said no Canadian EVER – some shit makes no sense.

45 miles from my house they make Crown Royal – Rye Whiskey at the Seagrams plant. Then once it’s made I get to pay about C$40 for a 40 oz bottle (gotta love the “sin taxes” in Canada on booze and smokes). However, I can drive 2 hours to North Dakota and pay US$15 for same bottle and it gets even better where I’m only allowed to bring one bottle back into Canada and if I bring more it’s about a 100% duty/tax penalty per bottle to bring it back to where it’s f’n made !! Same crap on chew – Skoal is about C$20-$25 a tin here where they are US$4 in No Dak – I can only bring back 10 over the border – now that is an insane amount of tax/duty we are being charged to buy the same product 2 hours away !

Golf related – I’m probably going back to the Aaron Wise plan again despite the MC last week.

IS it a Franchise, or the overall owner?.. There is a RITA’s by my house, but I have never been.

Could someone who has the type of information tell me the ownership projections for Stricker and Niemann? Preferably on Fanduel? Though beggars can’t be choosers!

Whiskey is one of the most confusing and frustrating things for me to buy. Reason I buy so much whiskey is the group I play with we do shots for every birdie and some of the guys I play with are pretty good. Where I live in PA, outside Philly, a small bottle of crown royal (750 mL I think) it costs 35 dollars + tax. I can go an hour southeast to Delaware and purchase the same bottle for 30 dollars with no tax. I can go an hour south of me to Maryland and purchase it for 25 dollars plus tax. Then I hear similar stories from people I know that live in midwest saying that same bottle is 15-20 dollars. I am like why does PA have to be so expensive, lol. Anyways, rant over…

Onto golf, any thoughts on Tyler Duncan this week? Played 5 straight weeks now and made all 5 cuts. Still very affordable. Doesn’t do much with the made cuts, but can be an asset to get you to the weekend.

I would think these guys on the PGA tour are so good that they can use gardening equipment (ala tin cup) and still beat most people. To hear guys stressing about a club head is just a little over the top (mentally). I get that there is a feel and comfort and they can probably notice the minute differences. At their level of competition that is an important thing. The tuning fork goes off with a good shot and a good shot comes from a comfort zone and the comfort zone comes from feel.

I also think that trying for the comfort and feel is detrimental to the mental game. If your trying to find the rhythm and feel, your not trying for the shot. That doesn’t mean a guy on his off day cant spend a day looking at and playing with all the new equipment and talking about the things that concern him. If its a sponsorship thing they change clubs but I would worry about a guy who is changing multiple times for no other reason than to find the right feel.

All you golfers…ever have to borrow clubs… a good excuse if you didnt play that well but If you do it often enough, I bet you had good days too. the better players can play with anything.
