ZJ trending toward under 15% ownership w/ this course history? Thoughts?

He is a shell of his former self so it hard to play him on course history alone.

  • BrianVT

So, is this the full list of those who have qualified?

    ZJ
    Stanley
    CHIII
    Palmer
    Moore
    Im
    Cink
    Dahmen
    Niemann

Does anyone know if there is a google docs sheet for the Euro tournament? Link please?

Plus his course history, while good, isn’t amazing (not as good as Scott Brown or Johnson Wagner) when you consider his ranking and the weak’ish fields. And he’s not the greatest DK point scorer. I’ll be fading him at that price.

I wonder why they’re not marked as such on the PGA.com leaderboard. Are those recent additions like Streelman and Niemann?

Lashley got in 2 weeks ago with his win at the Rocket Mortgage. Doc Redmen is also in for finishing 2nd in that tournament.

Ok, I forgot about Redman. Apparently there are 13, so I’m still missing 1. Would be nice if PGA would update their little Open icons next to names

What’s the reasoning behind playing satellites? The rake seems about the same as other tournaments. I see the cost (you give up flexibility in that you’re constrained to play a particular tournament), but I don’t see the benefit yet.

You could just play regular tournaments (including the 10 x multiplier or whatever) and then use those winnings, as you wish.

Is this more about psychology (justification) than about math?

    I’d say it’s about leverage

If you are normally a $0.25 or $1 GPP player, your nut lineup winning upside is probably somewhere between $750 and $1500

Now for that same quarter or dollar, you play a satty to win a $20 entry Milly ticket with a chance to win a Million which is a lottery ticket but the min cash is still $30 and a decent lineup pays $100 which could keep a quarter player going almost all year.

Now for the guys who play $3 and $5 games, they play satty’s to win $20, $33, $150 and $333/$444 tickets which totally changes the economics as those contests pay out $50K to $250K for 1st with significantly less lineups to beat.

Most guys who play DFS understand math and simply don’t have the bankroll to play the contests that give them the best chance of winning life changing or stress relieving amounts of cash – satellites give them that opportunity to step up a level or two and take that shot all for a cheap satty entry

Has the Pat Mayo experience come out yet.

No Steve Stricker? I assumed him and ZJ had lifetime exemptions for this event.

Nice. For the EURO I just found I didn’t need to go that low to make LUs because the value in this tournament is ridiculous. The lowest I went was Oli Fisher at 6800.

Had I done so I probably would have picked Slattery and Donaldson

But most of my LUs have a 7k guy as the lowest salary with money to spare

I woke up this morning feeling confident, now I’m not sure if I can play Neimann now after being added to the Open field.

If he was going to WD it would be today. With the charter situation for this tournament I feel there would be more reason to play and catch the charter flight than to WD just to get there a day or two early.

Both Slattery and Donaldson were pretty far down my list. By pretty far down I mean the bottom :).

My solo dolo lineup for the Euro I was $100 short from taking Karlsson and I didn’t want to adjust any of the other picks so I ended up with Max Schmitt ($6200).

I do have 15 quarter tickets waiting to get used so might make some alt lineups in some satellites this week.

Yes it has and it is currently at 2793/3000 entries so you better grab your spot soon.

Your month of June is out of this world! Congrats!

But yes I have said it many times. A score that would win a high stakes GPP will finish 500th/100K entrants and make you win about $30. You can’t realistically win those extra large GPPs on a regular basis.

Agreed…. i played quite a lot of small and mid stakes nba this year and then some nights id look at my 20 entries in the $1 – 20 max and be like my god i was 80 points shy of the winner but i woulda come in 1st in the thunderdome with 6 of those 20 lineups and 2nd with 12 of them…

You really have to just step it up in stakes… attempting to manage hundreds of tiny lineups is just a massive leak (esp of TIME) if you arent computer programmer savvy.

That said generating thousands upon thousands of lineups really gives you some good practice in lineup construction and valuable long term feedback so i dont think its the worst idea when youre first starting out rather than getting clocked in higher stakes
