Would anyone play KBO DFS if it were offered by FD or DK?

  • SkateFiend

Many would play, but the Taiwanese league has already started and neither sites have offered contests for that league. The DK rep here says they’re looking into it but have offered no other updates. I think they’re going to pass on baseball in Asia. Maybe the time difference has something to do with it.

I agree the time change would be a challenge. The KBO however is a much higher level of talent than the Taiwanese league

I dont think the time change matters. Look at the massive eSports tournies they hold that lock at 2 am or 3 am. They would have tennis tournies locking in the middle of the night.

My guess is lack of a trusted stat provider. They cant just watch and keep score on their own and throw into a computer.

Couldn’t they just delay official results and payout until they can post stats? KBO has only 10 teams, and NPB has 12. And their games can end in ties.

The lack of games might be a concern but DK and FD both have showdown type contests.

Baseball would be tougher than esports if they have daily lineup substitutions to watch or weather to deal with like the MLB does. Esports you can safely set a lineup 5-10 hours in advance and go to bed without worries. I am not sure the same can be said with any outdoor sport with larger rosters like baseball.

I would absolutely play, both in DFS as well as in the sportsbook. I will be very disappointed if DK cannot/will not make this happen, seems crazy to me that they wouldn’t/couldn’t. While I don’t begrudge anyone else their fun, the thought of betting on people playing video games is absolutely ridiculous to me. I would feel like I was living in a backwards universe if the world leader in sporting wagers can make that happen but not make betting happen for a high quality baseball league stocked with MLB talent.

With games likely to be aired on ESPN per recent reports, I would really hope sites can make KBO contests

  • wolfjb1

Are there any issues with game integrity? I listened to a Fangraphs podcast the other day about the Taiwan league and the guy who was an expert on the league said they kept getting in trouble because people were fixing games! He implied that the game-fixing stuff has been addressed and isn’t a problem any more but he didn’t really come right out and say so.

so much money would pour in!

  • Jaws1002

Well it’s available today. Anyone have any ideas where we can get info on the league or lineups?

  • nickbloggerman

Woooo so excited for actual baseball DFS to play. Can’t wait!

  • SkateFiend

I’m not a big fan of the lineup configuration (you don’t play the entire infield?) but with only ten teams in the league something had to be done to differentiate lineups, I suppose.

YES! THIS IS GENIUS! good job everybody

Anyone have intel on a site/twitter follow that has the starting lineups?

  • piffffffffff

Did fanduel just remove the KBO contests?

  • piffffffffff

It’s back now. Was down for like an hour

  • jjwd

the vegas lines for today are AMAZING. I like this sport already

  • thedkexperience

I’m locked and loaded. Unfortunately since the official lineups will likely come out after I go to bed – I actually found a new job despite CovidMania running wild which is the biggest win really – I’m gonna slow roll this. Just gonna do the $1 single entry and stick to $10 2 favorite parlays.

Definitely doing the chalk move of taking the biggest favorite pitchers tonight and I’m loading up on as many 2019 KBO homerun leaders as I can find. My thought is since the league leader only hit 33 last year then each one is progressively more valuable then in MLB. I guess we’ll find out!

    Opening night in Asia baby!!!

What time do starting lineups for these come out and will the lineups be green lighted with batting order like typical MLB contests?
