Human psychology is fascinating. I do shit like this too but if you notice overlay, why would you immediately go to a place where tons of people play DFS to post about the overlay?

  • einars

to build enough goodwill that it is reciprocated in a situation where you do not have knowledge of overlay. if you want to boil it down to purely selfish reasoning….that would be it

bc at 10 lineups a person, RG isn’t going to fill a 24000 person overlay tournament

Free ten bucks ($2 —> $3 ×10) unless you finish better than #666, yay! Lol, prizes are crazzzzzy top-heavy.

overlay is good, but it would be nice to see more entries, or i’d imagine the 10 max is going to go up very quickly.
It’s probably more a combination of people not hearing about this / the horrible prize structure / people scared to deposit in case there is a first time deposit thing later / other issues

12,692. But, again, so so top-heavy. You have to finish in top 665 to win more than $1 in profit.

long term you are definitely right, so lets enjoy the overlay while it lasts.

Yahoo hasn’t exactly been “spreading the word” off of Yahoo. I wouldn’t have known about it if I hadn’t come here, so maybe they made the decision to ramp slowly and work out issues like these with the core players (us clowns on rotogrinders) instead of having newbies completely turned off to DFS by a bad experience?

hopefully all the kinks are out in time for football. i’m guessing yahoo’s DFS advertising budget for football will dwarf the entire net worth of the existing sites.

I agree haven’t seen a single ad for it on yahoo. I hope they flatten out that payout structure soon should be an interesting place to play once they get the kinks out.

After this launch I have the impression that they aren’t going to be spending huge money on this trying to compete with the big guys. If they were trying to dominate the market they would have come up with a more innovative interface or used their advantage as a large well known company to slash rake. I can’t see why they would jump into the ad spending war with the two big players when their product is inferior.

To me it looks like they are doing this on the cheap to monetize the population of casual season long players they already have access to.
