    Late Player Lock

I’m curious(not furious) to hear other RG members opinions about the ability to change players all the way up until the game starts. Personally I didn’t think much about it when I joined Draftkings but after playing an entire season there in MLB I’m almost dependent on this feature. If Draftstreet and Draftday had that option I’d be playing more on those sites for sure, but until then I’m going to be playing most of my NBA on Draftkings. I figure the late scratches may be able to be avoided on Draftkings instead of losing a team for the night at 7pm on Draftstreet because of news that came out at 7:02. Has this feature helped you or am I off the mark?

Is Draft Kings the only site that allows this? I thought DraftStreet did too, since I we the players whose games have not started greyed out

FanThrowdown also has the player switch feature. Wouldn’t be shocked to see another site adopt it for basketball, but I know there are some people who feel they are at a disadvantage if they are not around their computer all night and therefore hate the late switch. Works both ways.

Personally I am indifferent on the issue.

I agree it makes a HUGE difference in the NBA. That is why DK will be seeing a lot of my action on that sport. Yes, some will say that the late-scratches even out in the end but it still doesn’t mean that you can’t have your entire night ruined once in awhile and lose a good chunk of money by having the “flu” pop up for a west coast game player. Those nights are painful.

As Dan said, we have late player swap on FanThrowdown as well.

I think it is almost a necessity for NBA, late scratches can ruin your evening…

Thanks for the reply Dan, I never considered the “others” that may view it as a disadvantage. Yesterday was a prime example of getting “late scratched” in MLB on Draftstreet when Nolasco was scratched for Kershaw early afternoon. It didn’t affect me personally but I’m sure some people would have loved to be able to get an active pitcher in instead of taking the zero. On Draftkings(and Fanthrowdown I hear)there was an option to get him out at least. I want to play more on sites without it but hate guessing who will play tomorrow(in the case of two day leagues).

Or make your evening if you are on the right side

This is the number one reason I play on dk. Also the number one reason I try to overlook ui issues at FTD.

Would love to see dd add this feature for nba.
