In the early slate 0 of 50 line ups with Tijuan Walker excluded. Whats with that?
With him included there are 50 lineups, 47 have the same 2 pitchers.
Setting % on pitchers reduces the number of pitchers.
If 1 is programmed at 15% I receive 18 line ups. I with that pitcher 5% target 15%
If 2 are programmed at 15% I get 7 line ups and only one of the programmed is in a line up. The other is totally excluded.
When I change the max to 100 line ups I get 4 line ups. However each of the programmed pitchers is in one line up.
I reduced the % to 5 and kept the population at 100. I ran it 5 times after I received 1 line up the first time. The # produced ranged from 1 to 83. Both pitchers did not appear in any line up.
I found that 1 could exclude any pitcher but walker. That I could produce line ups with each pitcher programmed as long as I included Walker.
I was in draftkings and found no way to produce a line up using Walkers money on hitting.
Probably the small slate but seemed odd that The Bat could not be programmed to use poor pitching and focus on hitting.

Also went through grind down and set % on batters. I tried setting % from 75 to 10 but received no lineups in multi setting.
I then noticed that some players in had set % on in the grind down did not show % in The Bat. I tried to detect a pattern to that but could not. Most of the Cards, Rangers and Angels did not show
that I had programmed a favorite.
After using the bat for 5 days I will say it is more statistically accurate than line up builder. By that I mean it is more likely to give you a better line up than line up builder. In my opinion it is either a place to start research or a place to verify your own research depending on your own sequence of preparation. I use it for verification or hoping it will show me someone I have overlooked. Like a Balt/Bos stack last night.

Hey @wwhis, definitely want to help you figure this out. did you have “no batter vs pitcher” checked or unchecked in the “Settings” tab? Having that checked on a small slate can cause some issues with output.

  • wwhis

That would be a yes and I can see that would cause issues, thanks.

  • wwhis

Can you tell me why the favorite settings don’t always transfer over to the line up builder.

line up builder not working yesterday or today? never had an issue before.

The BAT salaries are not correct in lineup builder for Draftpot. They are rounded to the nearest dollar instead of the actual FPPG, which means that some combinations don’t work with the 35 FPPG salary cap.

Also John Jaso is listed at C instead of 1B.

EDIT: Multiple salaries are way off. Andrew McCutchen and Miguel Cabrera both listed at $1, for example.

Using MLB Lineup Builder, and BAT projections. When I click Optimal Lineup, it delivers me, call it Lineup A. When I click Generate Multiple Lineups, it excludes Lineup A. I’ve cleared cache, closed my browser, and replicated this across chrome, firefox, and safari.

  • BogeyTMF

Also, more weirdness. This might be a little difficult to follow, but hear me out.

I generated an optimal lineup – Lineup A
I then EXCLUDED every player from Lineup A to generate a new “optimal lineup” – Lineup B

Doing what I described above is the same as going into settings and asking it to spit our 2 lineups with 9 player variability. Unfortunately, the second lineup generated when doing it through settings is NOT the same as Lineup B above. It should be.

Something is messed up in the algo that generates optimal and multiple lineups.

  • BogeyTMF

Suggested improvement – if I’ve paid $150 for the BAT, I want that as my default set of projections. Don’t make me load them every single day.

Velasquez salary wrong on the bat for DK

Guys, don’t move these posts to a support forum and not respond. We’re crushing @FanDuel for not being responsive to customer feedback and I’d humbly suggest that you need to be more on top of user questions/comments.

  • BogeyTMF

When I click to exclude a player, and then look at the “excluded” list, I should ONLY see the players I’ve specifically excluded. Right now, it shows those I’ve excluded AND players from every team not on the slate. Makes it hard to actually sift to the guys I excluded.

Totally agreed. If I was using the free version of Lineup Builder I’d be more patient but having paid for The BAT I’d really like to see it working correctly with Draftpot…

  • tvsfrink

DP Prince Fielder listed as 1B instead of DH.

$1 salary issue is prevalent again today.

  • BogeyTMF

The optimization algo is calculating optimal lineups incorrectly. Right now, it’s posting an optimal lineup that uses $34,500 and projects for 129.34 points. I can swap to a different catcher and get the projected total to 129.8 and stay under the cap. Until you can get this right, you should allow us to export projections so we can use some other tool. I need confidence that your builder is working properly or all of Derek’s work in projecting well is moot.

    Hey guys,
We are watching this and working on issues as they come up.

Draftpot has a few salary issues, but they should be fixed now. I will double check them.

Velasquez caused quite a few issues today due to the accent mark in his names used by some sites. He should be removed fully from the player pool, but if you see him clicking exclude on him once will keep him out of all lineups.

Good idea, definitely something I will pass along to the devs.

Something is messed up in the algo that generates optimal and multiple lineups

The multiple lineups buttons does not produce optimized lineups. Rather, it generates multiple lineups based on your settings, favorites, and locked players.
We are working on optimizing the multiple lineups feature.

Thank you, it does appear to be fixed.

However, the rounding up (or down?) on the salary is still a problem. With only a 35 point cap, rounding makes it more difficult to adjust the lineup builder’s results. Is there any way to incorporate the decimals?

  • tvsfrink

When showing the BAT projections in lineup builder, there also used to be a column showing the RG projected points. It was a nice to be able to compare the two directly, but now that RG points column is gone. Can that be brought back?

The optimal and multiple lineup algorithms are different, so it’s possible that you would see the results that you described. That said, we’re exploring ways to show multiple lineups when “Find Optimal” is clicked, and also looking at combining the features and having the option to go more “optimal” or more “variable”.

Thanks for that feedback. Better slate support is a priority for us. The current way it works is to “exclude” teams not in the slate, and as you noticed, that is treated the same as players you exclude that are in the slate. The best way to avoid confusion will be to completely remove games and players not in the selected slate instead of “graying” out the teams and excluding the players.

  • RazzleDazzle

Can THE BAT use the lineups as updated on the main RG lineups page? It often takes > 30 minutes from lineup release to when it finally updates in THE BAT.

  • cogs7

I cant get lineup builder/the bat to upload to DK, i do the same process on fantasy labs every day, but not working grom RG`s line up builder. Any suggestions? Tried yesterday, and now today.DK shows red letter error, no file. I`ve opened up the csv file and line up is there.
