Noticed a bug lately in NBA Draftkings Line Up Builds. Here’s an example. Today if you go to the 7:30 Pick Em 3 games. Go to T3. Click the Lock button on Dennis Schroder locks Devin Booker in T2 instead. Now, if you type in 100% on Schroder instead, it works. Just passing that along.

Could anyone explain how the player groups work on LineupHQ for NHL stacking or link me to a thread that explains it. I used to have the old lineup builder down, but now when I try to double stack a bunch of lines I get a 0 Lineups created error.

  • top40tom

Is there any way to exclude players in bulk in Lineup HQ? I only see an x next to each player and from the looks of it, manually clicking on each player is the only way to exclude. It would be great to have a check box on header for the column that would toggle between all checked or unchecked (Fantasy Cruncher has this, for example).

I’m testing out Lineup HQ for NBA and wanted to get a set of balanced players so my hope was to eliminate all under a certain salary and all over a certain salary.

“Is there any way to exclude players in bulk in Lineup HQ?”
-I mentioned this last week. Definitely needed.

Also, the stack/group function is horrendous in NBA. Either the stack tool from NFL or the generalized team stack from MLB would be a major improvement.

The Red Eye is a multi-day slate and isn’t supported.

If you use the NBA lineup generator, what do you set the maximum exposure setting at?

  • heyjude1979

Not sure if it’s just me or I’m not using the Builder correctly but I’m not finding a huge benefit when using it.

I select my two players to lock and it spits the same lineup out to me regardless.

I don’t trust it to use in my games.

    Anyone else feel this way?

If you just select two players and except to be given a winning lineup your definitely doing it wrong. All that is doing it giving your the highest projected lineup based on the rotogrinders free projections. It works the best if you either use your own custom projections or if play multiple lineups it works great by setting exposure %‘s to every guy in your own custom player pool to quickly get what you want.

The lineup builder only works as well as the inputs that get put into it. With the right inputs it can be a very useful tool but if you only spend 30 seconds on it and plan to win by clicking two buttons your going to have a hard time seeing success. If winning was that easy everyone would be doing it.

Click the button near the top right with the three horizontal lines near where you select the projections source. Then click the “GMS” button that is revealed to exclude everyone.

Thanks for the quick response: Well, i intentionally have the 8:25pm Thu-Mon slate up so i can run scenarios and edit my teams from Thurs…

If nothing can be done, i’ll move on but it seems like a relatively simple fix. Appreciate your response…

Well since you haven’t received a response, I’m assuming there’s nothing that can be done. Which kinda sucks cause any Thursday or Monday salaries are going to be screwed up, making it almost impossible to run scenarios on Thursday-Monday slates to think about changes to your lineup.

Hi, I do see that listed in LineupHQ under “8:00pm: Classic (Turbo): 5 Games.”

  • captmonk1

Yep they got it up. Ask and Ye Shall Receive

Would love to see the ceiling available for NBA lineups built in lineupHQ. I currently do this manually in excel. For GPP lineups I like to see the projections and the ceiling.

Also I am having issues figuring out how to select a saved lineup. Say I saved one lineup, how can I click on it to select it in the lineup builder change a player or two and save it as a new lineup?

I’d like to create a pool of players with 2qb, 4rb, 6wr 2te, and 2dst and have the lineup builder create all the possible lineups from this pool of players based on their salaries. is this possible and how can I do this?

  • miamimunich

    With no programming experience:
my first thought is use the rotogrinders lineup builder and set lineups to make = 150 and variability to random. I am not sure if this covers all the possibilities. If so u can do multiple builds and only use 1 qb in each, or 1 defense in each build. Play around with it and then export all lineups to csv from all the builds and then remove duplicates if there are any.

    with programming experience
you can use python or other languages to do it.
The question is what do you want your final output to be

  • jlabouef

I want to choose multiple players from each position based on my projections and build as many possible lineups based on their salaries. I could do it by hand w/excel but….

Have you tried excluding all players except the few that you wants and then build?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any input on lineup builder. How many people out there use it, and how often do the generated lineups work? I’v been using it the majority of the time I wanna create 5-10 quick lineups. Sometimes it will make me a couple bucks and sometimes I won’t hit any lineups. Some of these big players enter 150+ lineups in multiple sports per night, now we all know they don’t make these lineups by hand, or do they? I’m just looking for some feed back too see how many people rely on the lineup builder and a general thought on if the big players use rotogrinders lineup builder or do they have their own program they use?

    Thanks

Hello everyone, I’ve been a DraftKings player for over the last 3 years. I started out just betting a couple bucks for fun. I’ve never been into watching and following sport stats. So when I started betting, I really didn’t know who to pick or what teams would do well. That being the case I lost a lot starting out and barely won. Over the last couple years I’ve gotten better following player and teams stats, but not good enough to quickly sit down and scroll through the players having the knowledge of who is doing well over the last couple days, and who will probably do well for that given night.

Since the start of the 2017 NHL and NBA season I’ve been betting at least 4 nights a week. Some nights I’ll spend a couple bucks on 4-6 lineups and other nights ill spend 20-25$ on 10-12 lineups. I haven’t really had the time to spend researching before each night so what I’ve been doing for the last two months is just generating lineups on the lineup HQ generator. What I’ll do is is spend 15-20 minutes looking to see if any top 5 teams are playing any last place teams. From that I’ll pick a player or two from teams who should win and have a blow out. Then I’ll just let the lineup HQ generate the remaining players for me. I’ll do this a couple times picking 2-3 players I think will have an advantage that night and have rotogrinders generate the rest of the players for me.

Since I’v started doing this, the most i usually spend is 5$, playing 20 lineups in the .25 cent contests. Sometimes I’ll make a couple bucks, but most of the time a few lineups will hit maybe winning me 2$. So I end up losing 3$ a night, which is nothing to me. I just like to bet as I’m watching sports for the night. Anyway, I realize I won’t become rich betting in the .25 cent contests, but would like to see maybe a couple times a month maybe hit top 100 out of 10-15,000 players. And I also realize my chances of winning are lowered because I’m relaying on a third party to be doing all my drafting.

So after all this nonsense said, my question is who else uses rotogrinders lineup builder to build their lineups. Or do most of you pick your own lineups based on your own research. How often do you do well when using lineup builder, or how often does your own lineup do well? Also what about all these big players that enter 150 lineups in NHL and NBA contests every night. There would be no possible way for them to pick players manually by themselves over 300 times, or do they?

Any thoughts on lineup builder if you do or don’t use it and what your strategy is using it, would be greatly appreciated.

I have similar experiences with the Builder. Last April I started with a $25 deposit and I was up and down. Then in July I started using the Builder and by last month I was up to $380. I used it because of time restraints or I just happened not to be in the mood for much research. My problem was putting the wrong players in the Builder. Every now and then the Builder would put the same player in just about all of the LUs e.g. Jose Bautista. Well he burnt me quite a few times before I used the Exclusion button and re-ran the lineups.

A friend in the Basketball Forum told me to look for basketball games with high projected points and a close point spread. Blowouts are sometimes hard to predict and the best players can be pulled early eliminating their opportunities, This strategy probably pertains to all sports.

I sometimes remove players after the builder puts in obscure (to me) players. Sometimes it works and a lot of times it doesn’t. I really use the Builder to find the more obscure players. I max the .25 arcade every night too and I know I won’t get rich but I just love the action. I hope this helps some.

Forgot to mention that even though it’s debatable I would prefer the term “entering” and not “betting”. Thanks.

  • TheRyanFlaherty

I usually peek at it just to see if there is something I’m missing.
Most of all with NBA. There is so much news to keep track of on a daily basis, I go to that and hit the $/pt just to see if there’s a value play situation that I missed, and then confirm my info or assimilate the new info into my research.

Also, I’ll be nice and mention this…it may not be the case for NHL, but for NBA…targeting high priced guys by looking for blowouts is pretty much the polar opposite of what you should be doing (assuming your playing GPP’s).
