    http://espn.go.com/chalk/story/_/id/14623271/draftkings-bans-use-offsite-scripts-identify-experienced-players

Highlights: – DK will have it’s own scripting software and will disallow use of any outside scripts – Reduced entry limits – Some kind of designation of experienced players

I’m interested in seeing the official announcement (probably in the morning?)

Most players like playing in big prize pool tournaments, and multi entry makes that happen. The MA regulations address multi entry, and DK complied with those multi entry regs like a week later.

Multi entry needs to stay imo, but I agree with you that there are some multi entry issues that need to be addressed. We need more “Featured” tournaments that are not mass multi entry. I think it would help if both sites focused on a single entry “featured” tournament just below that day’s major multi entry tournament. Instead of having 10 different, similarly-prized single entry tournaments in the middle of the lobby put a lot of focus on one big one. Maybe have another featured tournament with a 3-5 entry cap. Then do more to communicate to users which tournaments are single entry and which are multi entry (and what that means).

I agree, the mass multi-entry GPPs yielding million $$ prize pools should still coexist with more reasonsble multi entry limit contests. Hopefully one site will take on Draftstreets multi entry limits. They were very reasonable and allowed for different strategies.

After reading the DK email, I’m going to be interested to see how this is implemented. It might not be nearly as bad as I initially thought.

Without bulk edit is there any other way to enter your lineups from csv into contests that are already full other than manually exporting each lineup one by one?

  • TeamTwerk

Any word if the DK script will allow players to join multiple contests automatically? I hope it does not. For instance, if somebody wants to join hundreds or dozens of $2 20 man triple ups (instead of playing higher limits) I hope they will at least have to click the buttons manually to make that happen.

Can you no longer use RG lineup builder to multi entry on DK?

Is there a list of the exact entry limits on non-GPPs? Article mentions the lower limits but no details on $10+

I’m curious what is the best resource to actually create multiple lineups and spit them into a CSV? Have found the took on RG to be next to impossible to create my lineups after I tweak the settings. All it does is spit out 5000 options.

We have a slider on our settings tab that lets you select how many lineups you want to generate. At the moment the max is 100 lineups per time you click “Find Multiple Lineups”. Once you’ve created the lineups, you should see an orange “Export to CSV” button under the current lineup card (with the prev/next buttons).

Let me know if this helps. I might be misunderstanding your issue, so feel free to message me with more details about the site/sport you’re using it for and your settings so I can help you get the most out of the tool.

You’ll still be able to use the RG lineup builder. We will update it so that the exported CSV will work with DK’s built-in upload tool.

Thanks – well, I spent say an hour designating about 100 players that I liked in various percentages usage and whom to block etc. Every time I went to run it said I needed to adjust 3-4 categories to fit. I would do so and it would never run. It was a mind-numbing waste of time. Is the secret to only pick like 20 or so players to designate percentages to?

This is excellent news, as long as they have the ability to detect automated processes and the intention of disciplining users who break the rules. We’ve already heard from FanDuel management that they never could detect or police automated processes, even though they told everyone that they could. Here’s hoping DraftKings has the framework in place to make good on this policy.

  • kantiger77

The experienced players tag will really be helpful. I have barely played DK or any of the other sites for a while (just a few quarters) because I was waiting to see some of this stuff get implemented. I think some of the contests were getting so ridiculous in terms of the cash line that it was becoming lottery-like. I have had some contests this year in the NBA where last year i would have won contests but this year I don’t even cash. It takes away the fun out of it when it’s basically Powerball.

100% Casual scrub here, around 100 or so entries played ever. Doesn’t and will not scare me in the slightest and as mentioned above, already aware that people load up on multi entries at a rate I can’t even imagine using scripts. Not buying the whole scared of a technical tool thing.

To me, players like yourself aren’t the concern. You’ve experienced the site, know it’s safe and know how things operate. My concern would be attracting brand new players and growing the site if it’s perceived to be too complicated to play. Making that initial deposit is a huge step for most people. I only began playing DFS a little over a year ago and that was my biggest hurdle – finally making the decision to deposit after doing my research on DK and its operation.

This could possibly get me playing back at DK. For those saying it will run the casual player off doesn’t actually speak for the casual player

Do you know when that update will happen? I tried to do some teams for the nfl this weekend and it kept telling me that it can’t recognize the first name. Really frustrating.

Not sure if downhill is the correct word. They were the industry leader for a while, but were lacking in the innovation area, particularly with slow evolving interface functionality and granularity being behind most other sites. You can tell by their mostly inaction and reactionary approach they are in it for high volume play and related rake. The lack of website functionality to help new players remain in the game longer backs up this assertion.

@dirtymic1 – you should still be using the old extension until the 29th. We have until then to implement a solution that works with DK’s tool.

So you feel that you can not play a 7 game slate without stacking 4 players from a team? That’s half a teams batters! It blows me away that people want to do so little work to build lineups and still call it a skill game.

Sorry but stacking takes a special skill and I think it’s nonsense to do 2 players max. Lots of times I’ve won by stacking the bottom of the order or a five man front stack with the number 9 hitter and many other combinations. Stacking does not mean someone is lazy. If that was true anyone could stack and win and that’s just not the case.

  • teddykgb

Seems like this should be a sticky for the time being.

Anyway i am not gonna continue down this well beaten road. I know everyone wants to stack as its easier and takes up less time to create lineups and target pitchers etc etc etc and of course the sites like stacking for the same reasons. For me its just not what fantasy sports is supposed to be about.

Your crazy. It takes me many hours during baseball season doing all stacks with maybe 10-15 lineup’s a night. Pitching is a huge part and also how I’ve had big nights. Someone who’s stacking every team 1-6 won’t win most nights. There’s lots of skill involved to differentiate from the standard 1-6 stacks each night.
