    Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to make a post to gather more information about what goes into determining what content is Marketplace, Core Premium, or Free. I’m fairly casual player at the moment, and I started thinking about this because I wanted to get better some of the other sports like CBB, NASCAR, NHL, and Tennis. I’m sure the Marketplace content is great stuff and probably worth the investment if you play enough volume, but I’m curious as to why all of that stuff isn’t just lumped together under the Premium monthly subscription. Does the Marketplace provide more financial benefit to the content creators, or is that just a way for RG to generate more profit?

Currently, I don’t play enough volume to consider investing additional funds for Marketplace or Premium content, but if I did I think I would it very difficult to justify paying an additional monthly or yearly fee just to add another sport on top of the Core Premium content. Let me know what you guys think.

    Hey Crumbler,

Good timing, so I’ll just address some of this head on now:

    1) You’re going to see a change in the marketplace soon. Our vision for it didn’t quite come to fruition, so we’ll be dissolving the marketplace and moving the most popular items onto the RG sales page. They’ll be available for purchase similar to how they previously were, except they’ll now be official RotoGrinders-branded offerings. The most popular non-core sports are: NASCAR, MMA, College Football, College Basketball, and Soccer (EPL & Champions League). BAT and BLITZ will still be available for sale separately. The rest we will no longer be offering.

    2) To your underlying question, this does not change much, as they will still be separate purchase options. Yisman hit on the core of it, but the reasoning is that they are not mainstream, popular, sports offerings currently. So if we lumped them into Core, this would add expenses to core, thus drive the premium purchase price up, for sports that many-to-most premium subs do not participate in. Each sports content offerings have their own set of expenses associated with them, so each of these ancillary sports (MMA, CFB, CBB, SOCCER, and NASCAR) will have their own purchase price for those that do seek premium content for those sports.

Hope that clarifies. Let us know if you need anything else!

    Best,
    Cameron

Thanks Cameron! Looking forward to see how it all comes together. It will be interesting to see if the non-core sports will be more appropriately priced in the future.
