Anyone that bitches about his entries should check out the Single Entry contests. Max dominated those too. Kudos to him.

  • Mindofigor

Max is a living legend and i applaud him for cracking the formula to $$$

I don’t care what anyone says, its not skill when your using a computer program to generated line ups and all you do is pay some shlub 20 bucks an hour to input the line ups from a spread sheet. And with DFS under such a huge microscope and fighting for its life, you would think he would back off just a little so it doesn’t look so bad. Looking at the FanDuel 200K Slam last-night, if any investigators are seeing this, what do you think is going through their heads?

  • HungryHungryHip

The Rules state anyone can enter X amount of lineups. I’m guessing since he’s only entering X amount of lineups allowed “Investigators” don’t care nor should anyone else.

  • fizzle13

Isn’t it skill to decipher between descriptive/predictive stats, then intelligently manipulate those into a mathematical formula designed to valuate the data? Sure, it might not be traditional through the eyes of the average “sports fan,” such as myself, but it is definitely skill. Some do it by watching all the games and “gut feelings,” some don’t. Dude thinks outside of the box and rakes cash.

If he created the program that he uses to construct lineups, which I believe he did, then that is his intellectual property and thus, his skill that leads to those lineups being created.

  • kb32dawgs

He’s playing the numbers by volume game, I don’t see much skill in playing max entries and playing every conceivable angle/lineup. But enjoy it while it last Max cause this is exactly what’s going to bring DFS down.

  • kb32dawgs

If I was a new player last night and I decided to try my luck in the 200k Slam because the tv adds makes it seem so easy and once I see the top 500 cashes very much owned by two players Max & Banders, I’d thing damn wtf is this and never play/deposit again. Entries have been on a serious decline the last month or so and with the industry under a microscope, shot like that doesn’t make new players want to join even more now.

Check yourself. He’s not playing bingo. He establishes a core of players and rotates in various combinations around them. Here is a great article from the summer when he crushed some baseball action showing exactly that: https://rotogrinders.com/articles/breaking-down-maxdalury-s-dominance-in-the-dk-mega-payoff-pitch-709171

Now, I’ll say that I’m not a huge fan of the massive multi-entry and think it needs some refinement, but to denigrate what Max achieves to simply leveraging bankroll without applying skill, you’re way off base.

WAHHHHHHHHHH I bet you are a liberal Bernie Sanders fan that thinks everyone should have a fair shot at everything and everything should be free. Entitled idiots. He is very good at what he does. End of story

Just be thankful there aren’t thousands of maxdalury’s on Draftkings. Most people cannot do what he does. If what he did was easy, then EVERYONE would be doing it.

But it’s not easy. I don’t think you understand how insanely hard it is to win a GPP. You can do research for hours upon hours and still not win it all. As far as the big tournament prizes are concerned, that is something Draftkings and Fan Duel uses to lure players. It’s like the equivalent of advertising the grand prize of a progressive slot machine in the casino. The truth is most pro players build their bankroll with H2H and 50/50s. Most of them only put a small investment into GPPs. If you are lucky enough to win a GPP or build a large enough bankroll; you can now enter max entries comfortably ( assuming you know what you are doing like max).

Ads only work on gullible people.

Also, there is only one “d” in “advertisement.”

I love how some of you make it personal and call names online when we all know you would never do it person. And for the record I’m not some newbie or losing player. I’ve been doing this for a good while and done fairly well without using any kind of program or algorithm. My whole point in the OP was that this is in no way good for DFS at this time. I’m very well aware you have to be really smart to build your own program to generate line ups and it does take skill to do that but it does not take skill to take all starting players(NBA) and a few good value plays and plug them into your algorithm and poof, it spits out line ups. There’s skill in that at all other than the ability and know how to build a computer program. I think DFS has gotten more away from the sport and fun of it and more into who has the best algorithm or who can afford to spend 50k a night. And this is just my opinion which its a good thing I’m entitled to, so for those who want to make it personal and call names and what not then please please private message me and we can maybe set up a place to meet so you wont have to hide behind that computer.

You really should export the csv file of a tourney last night and look at his lineups before you claim something like this. He had 100% exposure to Kobe last night…

Totally with you KB…and then they usually don’t end up thoroughly reading through a long diatribe of a reply with limited punctuation and formatting…calling people names on the innerweb is like challenging them to a fight….amirite?

So it might be time to educate yourself a little on how Max plays. Here is an example of how he played his 10 Monster lineups last night in which he netted around $40K.

    PG

    Wall 10/10 100%
    Canaan 10/10 100%

    SG

    Bryant 10/10 100%
    Smith 4/10 40%
    Johnson 2/10 20%
    Bledsoe 2/10 20%
    Harris 2/10 20%

    SF

    James 10/10 100%
    Covington 4/10 40%
    Hollis-Jefferson 4/10 40%
    Dudley 2/10 20%

    PF

    Randle 10/10 100%
    Love 3/10 30%
    Grant 3/10 30%
    Davis 2/10 20%
    Morris 2/10 20%

    C

    Okafor 5/10 50%
    Gasol 4/10 40%
    Dieng 1/10 10%

As you can see there are 5 players that he was 100% invested on tonight. You cannot claim someone is playing every conceivable angle/lineup (which is not possible actually) when 55.5% of their lineups have 5 core players. If anything the way Max plays multi entry you can argue the skill side even more.

With that said I am not a huge fan of the massive multi entry tournaments and understand that side of the argument as a whole. You just happened to pick the worst possible example of a player to claim they are going to bring down the industry.

If its so easy why don’t you just do it? If there is no skill, and its just a matter of bankroll then go and get a line of credit on your house. Since its so easy there should be little to no risk in doing it. You will just end up with loads of cash in a mater of weeks.

If it doesn’t take any skill then do it. I’ll be looking for you at the top of all the tournaments. Congratulations on your new found fortune.

I’m new to NBA but I’ve learned very quickly that I don’t wanna play Max or Condia. Last night I cashed in 7/9 tournaments on FD but only 2/12 on DK and I noticed some of my small multipliers had a lot of Max in them. Today I can’t even register for an NBA sat to the Milly Maker bc they are all full of Max, Condia and TJ. I can’t hate on these guys tho, they are operating within the rules. I’m just more aware about game selection now. It is nice that DK has the beginner tournaments but I think they should have more tournaments with a 3-5 max entry for those ppl like me who aren’t gonna max enter any tournament. Even so, no haterade from me… Props to the max entry guys who do it big.

I think you nailed it. As the industry stands today there are no “in between” tournaments. It is either single entry (which I am glad to see more of) or the mass multi entry. Would love for them to advertise some 5-10 limit gpp even if the prize pools start off smaller. If they pushed these I am almost positive it would work.

I would love that. I play a lot of the single entry tournaments, but if they had large max 5 entries tournaments that would be what I would play the most.
