“DraftKings partner MaxDulary” insinuates that Max is a shill account that is managed by the site.

That is the speculation, that is NOT fact, and that is the Tin Foil Hat.

  • sonicattack

I think it’s really funny that people are so uneducated as to how multi entry DFS works and who the top players are.

I got into this back in fall of 2013. Maxdalury has always been a household name. Granted he doesn’t always dominate like he is presently but guys go through heaters.

No one complained about McJester’s insane run last year, so why complain about this – especially – when it’s been 2 nights? I don’t get it.

But we live in an age of paranoia where people are always assuming forces in the world are out to get them somehow. In this case, the DraftKings site is apparently out to take all of our money.

I’m guessing last night that he had a punt in most of those LU’S and it was just a matter of swapping the same salaried punt for Frye across the board. Easy decision there. I have no explanation for tonight.

    He’s a good DFS player?

  • sonicattack

Tonight he went bold with the Miami punt/value plays – who all pretty much paid off – and then hit on the few must plays as well. That MIA/SAC game in general was a goldmine and you can see he had plenty of exposure to that as well as the obvious POR/MIN game.

McJester’s TPOY podcast talks about the idea of having a core and just rotating players around that core. That’s what ME is all about and that’s what he’s been doing. When it works, you make a lot of money.

  • sonicattack

So I just calculated it for the event I was in, the Micro Millions 2nd Chance Main Event.

Max had 150 entries. 134 cashed. You can figure out whether it’s all luckbox or not. Going to assume that it’s probably not.

    Now that is beast mode

  • sonicattack

He done good that’s fer sure. Probably made more money last night but possibly higher ROI tonight depending how much volume across the board.

  • Ericpro777

Can anyone estimate how much total he won last night? im just curious. Happy for the guy. Just like anything else, any other type of gambling, you have heaters, and heaters plus high volume = sexy time

  • sonicattack

Between 500k and a mil most likely. Not sure how much in entry fees so that obviously factors in

That’s not what the theorists are theorizing. The short version is that they’re implying that the sites are either allowing top players to change their teams or are running fake accounts (a la “potripper”)

People need to realize multi-entering is not the easiest thing to do. I don’t think anyone noticed that AshyL4rry also put in 400 entries and had ZERO in the top 500. I see no problem with maxdalury doing this, if he has the bankroll, why not? If you know what you’re doing, and can handle that many lineups go for it. Just because you make _____ amount of lineups doesn’t mean that you are going to do very well.

Welcome to the boards, e4e5nf3nc6! You’re quite the sicko yourself (in a good way. Seems like you’ve been crushing).

And yes, Bravo, Max. Bravo. Huge night.

Haha, thanks. I owe a lot to my wife. She works all day then takes over watching the kids so I can play. She is getting rewarded with a trip to Miami :)

Anyways, I was more taken back by the 210 Frye lineups. Not from a strategical standpoint. That part I get. But he had to make 210 lineup changes in roughly 1 hour (assuming he wasnt on Frye before the news). Its like one lineup change every 15-20 seconds. That is fast! I would not be surprised if he was a high level Starcraft player or tetris player or minesweeper savant, who knows.

Adjusting lineups is not that hard to do. Just plug in Frye and move on to the next one.

IMO way too many Frye lineups… HALF your lineups rely on an average player way exceeding value. Optimal approach would be less lineups. He kinda got lucky Frye way multiplied his value, but still a good run nonetheless.

If you actually bothered to look at maxdalury’s lineups and player placements in said line ups, you would quickly realize it was nowhere as quick or simple of a process as you’re assuming.

Skilled players with large bankrolls can take chances with heavy exposure on a reasoned play with high upside as Frye has proven in the past when given the minutes. Others brag about their ‘life roll’, complain about sites’ freerolls and make threads begging for partners.

Why take the twitter trolls and bring it to the boards? Thread seems reasonable and civil. That said it’s ironic that nobody realizes the sites care far more about keeping the average joe happy than they do about the maxdalury’s of the world.

Nice blog posted on the topic of multi entering tournaments. People often forget about people who do it and get next to nothing in return.

MICRO MILLIONS #57: NBA $400K MAIN EVENT

44 players had 30+ entries. 36 of the 44 lost money.

Only 4 of the top 100 entries did not have Channing Frye.
