Haha, thanks. I owe a lot to my wife. She works all day then takes over watching the kids so I can play. She is getting rewarded with a trip to Miami :)

Anyways, I was more taken back by the 210 Frye lineups. Not from a strategical standpoint. That part I get. But he had to make 210 lineup changes in roughly 1 hour (assuming he wasnt on Frye before the news). Its like one lineup change every 15-20 seconds. That is fast! I would not be surprised if he was a high level Starcraft player or tetris player or minesweeper savant, who knows.

smizz has the secret sauce for that, ctrl F, and global player swap, everyone else have fun attempting what max, smizz, and mcjester all do lots of respect for those guys, if it was easy everyone would be in the green.

I can’t believe people have conspiracy theories about how many Channing Frye lineups somebody had. We should be happy anyone would ever roster him and encourage all the Channing Frye.

That said I rostered him twice that night and hated myself for it at first.

Wow, thank you so much! Did not know about ctrl F. I googled it and one of the first things I found said 90% of computer users don’t know about ctrl F. I was certainly in the group.

I completely forgot about global player swap. I haven’t used it in months.

There are many silly things said about multi-entering. One of the silliest is the idea that you can somehow cover all the plays. As you add more possibilities, the number of entries required to cover them expands very quickly. You soon end up with more required entries than the total number of entries in the whole contest. Take a look at today’s NBA cheetsheet. There are a ton of plays listed. Are any of them ridiculous? Are there even some more that could have been listed? Depending on how much cap room you are willing to leave, there are billions and billions of playable lineups. That is not an exaggeration. Billions with a B.

Max is a beast for sure. Also has a very good shot at winning the 100k in golf this week as he has several teams near the top. Congrats

Actually, billions and billions is a comically low under-representation.
The cheet sheet lists 16 PGs. That’s a really high number. But are any of them ridiculous? Nope. There are some plausibly playable ones not even on the list.
Looking at just PG, if you took all the combinations of those 16 PGs, you would have
    130,767,436,800 lineups.
Even with something like 6 plausible players at any of the 2-spot FD positions and no variation at center, you have hundreds of millions of lineups.

The people that complain about multi entry in gpp simply don’t understand probability and discrete events.

First, the possible combinations is in the hundreds of millions once you take into account of salary.

Second, a shark playing 1000 lineup does not decrease your odds of winning. If you had a 1/11k chance to win the slam when everyone single enter, you still havbe the same odds regardless of how many a shark multi enters. It’s like the lottery, your odds of winning the lottery on your ticket is not affected by how many tickets I buy. The expected value is the same.

And lastly, if you think bankroll and multi entry can ensure consistently positive roi and guarantee you binking a gpp, then why not sell your car or reverse mortgage your home? Take down 5 gpps in a month and buy a nicer car or live in a bigger house.

Don’t really care, but this is just false.

Your statement would be true if the shark plays 1000 unique RANDOM lineups.

Since the entries are unique but coordinated around a core group of players, it does decrease the real (if not numerical) odds of winning.

Your statement would only be true if the average player plays a random lineup as well. This might be true in the $1 GPP but once you get to the $25-$200 events, pretty much every player is putting in some thought process in their lineup construction.

And keep in mind, alot of the sharks (ganondorf, devind, dexter, abkessel1, etc.) run 4x to 10x trains in large GPPs. This actually decreases the # of unique lineups in a GPP pool.

  • ZookeeperKills

Every time I see the name ‘ganondorf’ I hear the chants of ‘ganondorf’ from super smash bros. Is this relevant?

Oh BTW Channing Frye is soft.

If those core group of players do well, then yes it’s tougher to beat the guy. If. The core performs poorly, then the guy becomes dead money. I remember when the millionaire maker came out the first week, someone entered 1000 times (27k) but didn’t even sniff 1k in total winnings.

That’s right…. Def works both ways.
    No doubt.

But statistically an experienced player is more likely to select a group of players that will give him the floor needed to rotate the boom or bust picks around

I do remember the 1000 entry MM, do not remember the player, but yes it didn’t work out that tome

markgenorex who is known for massive ME on DK in a number of sports.

    Maxdalury is tough.

  • dfrandan

I cannot wait to see how many entries he is entering in today’s Quarter Arcade on DK

  • huitcinq

can someone post a link to this contest please

  • AKspecial

I was so surprised to see him because he usually don’t play GPPs because I usually don’t see him on most GPPs so I thought he was shark and the amount of line ups he made was nuts, he spent over 10k but got paid!! I spent 2k and was happy to get my money back!

  • Craptor

Max has some leaks (obvious, but not massive) in soccer cash lineups, but he’s been running super hot past few weeks. Can’t speak on other sports, but from what I know he’s very good.
